There are things going on with Neverwinter Nights these days. First, take a look att the D20 Modern tilesets and models being made. Hereīs a video clip. Then go to the ShadowrunnerNights project page and give this guy all the help you can muster. This might be our chance. If these things work even a little, anybody with a nwn toolset can make their own scenario. It seems thereīs a long way to go. But at least with this people with skill and time on their hands can add the things they think are missing themselves.

It looks kinda cool so far, but it seems to me he's unlikely to use Shadowrun rules, so it's just not the same to me. It should probably be a fun game, but with levels, and probably classes, and the like.

actually if you read the forum he reveals that he is going for a class-less system were you only have two "classes": awakened and non-awakened. Of course the character progression will most likely be in levels anyway. Modules like Firefly (a nwn module based on some sci-fi series) show that itīs possible to change the game extensively. But your right, it wont be the Shadowrun rules, exactly. If, of course there isnīt some programing genius dumpshocker out there who takes this on and makes it everything we dreamed of :)

"some sci-fi series"?? SOME?? THE. Show some respect, man!

Anyway, this would be an incarnation of the demonic D20 shadowrun perversion, minus the elf porn. *Ptui* (that's the sound of me spitting on the floor, in case it wasn't clear)

Damnit, you always lose the best parts of systems when they're converted to computer games.

Hey, it might not be the absolute, ideal incarnation of a Shadowrun computer game, but its still cool, and its all we have to go on at the moment. And I'll take what I can get.

Thanks for the link. I, for one, am excited about this. I just hope they manage to somehow avoid completely screwing up the magic system. Or wait... maybe I'm not as excited about it anymore...

Amen, brother. Let's hear a big BOOOO to Fox for being dumb enough to decide to cancel it, and a big YAAAAY to Universal for making the movie.

(I bet Shepherd Book was the commanding officer for the opposing forces at Serenity Valley. But that's just me ;) )

Most comments include comparisons like this:

Diablo II in a Dark Future Setting ... Hack'n Slay ... just not as good although the graphics are better

And appearantly they have serious problems when it comes to hardware requirements ..

It's a specific crazy-ass web page that was linked from a thread in the past that you missed. Here's the thread, but the link no longer goes to the April 1st version.

*silly excited voice* Movie. They made or are making a movie I want the movie and the episodes. I only saw the first 4 at a con and have been trying to track them down for nearly a year now (difficult without money) is it good *end silly excited voice*

in all seriousness it is not the fare to these pore unfortunates to disparage them for lack of knowledge withheld from them by a network that didn’t know what it had. I will have to redouble my efforts to find it.

if you have bittorrent, the episodes can usually be found at suprnova.org. you could also drop around fifty bucks for the DVD set.

It's a reference to April 1, 2004.

As for ShadowrunnerNights: I think it looks pretty damn good! The rules might not be quite right, but I like the way he's going about bending the d20-centric NwN engine to fit the SR rules (instead of taking the easy way out and doing things the other way around).

I bought NwN when it first came out just to support the concept of a proper tabletop -> computer RPG translation (I stopped playing D&D years ago and was never into computer/console RPGs). It looks like I may now have a reason to dust off the CD's and install it again.

First 4? That means you didn't even see the god-like masterpiece of an episode when the bounty hunter in the red spacesuit comes aboard Serenity...

I just saw what I think is the first episode here on Oz TV. It was advertized as such, but you never know down here though ... they totally screwed up Babylon 5, and we still haven't seen all the episodes.

What happens in the first episode? Spoiler below ...

That's more or less the first episode. There's a two parter around episode 12 that was originally intended to be the pilot. FOX decided they wanted a different pilot, and the one you've described is the first episode aired.

Gotta love any show that tries to pass off a shit-hole of a planet-moon as being horribly poor and desolute, complete with a windmill to generate electricity or whatever it was supposed to be doing, yet has a holographic forcefield for a window rather than just using glass or some other cheap substance.

Thanks. I looked promising. I just hope they fill in the back-story as they go along. I also hope that the Gods of OzTV don't run 5 episodes and then lose the rest in some strange black hole.

Gah, I feel lame for thinking Firefly blew chunks. I guess I don't understand what makes this such a pivotal piece of Sci/fi. Seemed slightly lame to me. :?
