I've been noticing a lack of chat on this book so I thought, well what does it mean? I came up with this.
Now let's talk about this. Emergence will be the tool with which the sadistic GM can beat the previously carefree TM about the head. What do I mean? Imagine if you will the scenario. Your average hard running TM comes home, goes to sleep and wakes to find several neighbours have decided to hold an impromteau BBQ. Of course they are in violation of several ordences, using an upright cross as fuel, wearing bedsheets as party clothes, and using the TM as the roast. Or Again TM comes home, goes to sleep and wakes up staring at her brain floating in a jar. Or TM comes home, goes to sleep and never wakes up. In the interest of equal time what should smart players do to prevent this? Answer, I'll tell you what I would do. Starting my very next session, my TM would look for property. Preferably property no one else would want or be crazy enough to buy. I'm thinking somewhere in the SOX or the Redmond Barrens. Or the Moon, yes the Moon would work. Then remove any and all previous occupants. (An adventure in and of itself) Dig a large hole (fifty cubic feet ought to do) Line said hole with three to five feet of concrete. Line concrete with a Faraday cage. Drill a hole though the lining. Insert data cable, link one commlink to the inside and one to the outside. Now go and get a Sleep Regulator (Yes it interferes with Resonance, no I don't care) Once I have a sleep regulator, get enough Long Haul for two years. Then buy MREs for three years, furniture and all other accesories for living. Equip bunker with every concievable security system, magical and otherwise. Buy SOTA upgrades for comms. Enter bunker, and don't leave for three years, use comms to get news and do biz. And that's what Emergence should be doing to your TMs right now |
