A little bit of backround. I first heard this bit in...1999 or 2000, on a local radio show called Elliot in the Morning. At first, I thought they had done it; that show and it's station, DC 101, are famous for their parodies and fake commercials. But I have since learned it was performed by a comedy troupe called The Dead Ale Wives. It's a Dungeons and Dragons parody, and very funny, mostly because it hits close to home. From my very brief investigation, it seems that the Dead Ale Wives are now defunct; their website is now a porn site, and it would be difficult to find any of their CDs. However, the first bit at least is on a CD called "Dr. Demento's 30th Anniversary". Listen to ithere.
They also did a sequel of sorts; that's here. This next one has nothing to do with gaming, but it's funny. If you've ever wanted to hear Porky Pig singing "Blue Christmas", click here. Enjoy, and have a happy winter solstice. |
