GenCon event information Game ID: RPG00818 Title: There's No Such Thing As Retirement Event Description: Upon learning of a Corporate plan to demolish their retirement home, a group of geriatric retired shadowrunners plan one last run to save it. Hilarity ensues. (Game is BYOC, e-mail ****************** for character creation information) Event Type: RPG - Role Playing Game Game System: Shadowrun Rules Edition: 3rd Edition Age Requirement: Teen (13+) Experience Required: Extensive Experience Needed Event Duration (hours): 4 Event Start Date: 2004-08-20 14:00:00 Event Cost: $3.00 Gaming Group/Sponsor: FanPro LLC Game Master Name(s): MooCow GM Info on Game Setting I'm still ironing out exactly how I'm going to do this, but I can give you the basics now. (All of which are subject to change) - This game will be very tongue-in-cheek. It's a game about old shadow runners, and I expect to hear "I've fallen and I can't get up" at least once. ;) - Characters have been retired for at least 15 years (current year being 2064). They should be in their late 60's, early 70's. In their day, they were damned good. So we're looking at around 75 Karma to make characters. - In terms of cyberware, nothing that wasn't available in first edition (though we're using 3rd edition rules). This means no bio ware, no nanites, no move-by-wire, etc. If you have a question about a specific item, let me know. - Cyberware will also cost 20% more in essence then what's listed in the book. - Your characters are old. This means that things that used to work, don't. Mechanics wise, I'll decide what ailments you have based on the character you create (I'm flexible and can be negotiated with). - The above applies to cyberware as well. You're wired reflexes may be spotty, or you may have a funky rash from your dermal armor. - Mages are not excempt from this. A likely ailment to strike a mage would be senility. "Why are we sneaking in this building again?" I think that covers the basics. If you have any other questions, let me know. Hope to see you there! -MooCow Questions
Yeah, rating 3 probably didn't even exist back in your day.
I'm real leery of that. It's not that I want to hamstring anyone's characters, but I want the "old" jokes to extend to all their equipment as well. Sure, you could have a stash, but the stuffs all 15-20 years old. And getting new stuff will be a problem, because your fixer's probably dead. ;) I'm imagining that these characters came from a day when Skills were far more important then the latest cyber mods. Keep in mind that even in the modern game, people can be hesitant about cybering up with anything more then a data jack. Imagine what people thought in 2035? Hope that answers your questions. If you you have a problem with anything let me know, I'm still working this out in my own head. Thanks for your interest, I'm looking forward to a fun and campy game. |
