A full on-webseries that is a Shadowrun knockoff is understandable, but then you look at the people involved and a trend appears:

O.C. Presely - Scriptwriter : Runs the Neo-Anarchist podcast and has written for several SR books.
Jon Helfers - Script editor: CGL editor on SR and BT
Clifton Wright - Composer : AKA Mr. Johnson of Arcology Podcast
Jason Fucking Hardy - Consultant : SR Line Developer doing this instead of addressing why his brand new edition of the game is a total mess.
