So I been reading 'Rigger 3' on the sly recently when my GM wasn't around, and since my character has the team role of "decker/general electronics wizz, bullet decoy and chief electronic-lock fryar', I started looking into "Electronic Warfare"
By the looks of things, all you need is a remote control deck with one or two added modules such as the "Rigger Emulation Module" and the 'Electronic Warfare' specialisation of the 'Electronics' skill. You don't necesarrily need to be a full fledged rigger with a VCR and all. Also you can still use drones in captains chair mode, just without jumping into them. So as long as your drones have decent pilot ratings, you shouldn't be too in-effective. I could do stuff like: * Shut down/jam enemy drone networks. * Jam communications * Recon with small drones. Especially in places our mage can't go due to wards. * Gather intel on enemy movements and effectiveness by tapping into their drone network. * Intrude and take-over enemy drone networks. * Walk around with both my cyberdeck and remote-controll deck jacked in at the same time, looking like a freakish rastafrarian with a techno-fetish. * Get soy-kaff from the team digs without leaving my room and un-jacking. So, can anyone add to this list? Is there anything I'm missing, can a non-rigger still do all of this? Anything to make me MORE effective? Comments, objections etc. |
