Is there a list anywhere of all the mutations that HMHVV (and all of it's strains/types) creates? I know quite a few of them are in Critters, but are there more outside of that?

Is the information about the statistical change (a vampire receives) copyrighted? I have a heck of a time figuring out SRs fair-use policy.

Vampires don't get statistical bonuses. They only get powers. Those powers are listed in Critters. Critters is available for download free of charge.
Copyright is a tricky thing when dealing with RPG rules. Citing a rule in a discussion is perfectly alright. Giving away so many rules that a person will have no need to buy any of the books, isn't. |

That would be a power not a statistical bonus. Improved Physical Attributes. It isn't an uncommon Critter Power.

Ah, since Critters is available for free (I didn't know that), it's likely okay. I'm assuming this 'free' version is a legal version? |

It's on the official Shadowrun main page (I think there's a link from the Dumpshock main page), so if it isn't legal, there's a bigger issue than you downloading it.

to the same extent that you can play a normal vampire, yes--which is to say, there are no rules for creating a PC with that particular malady, but you might be able to

Easier to play .... but you have to be human, and they are much more powerful than the typical vampire.

Or a very unusual elf. If you're going to play a Nosfratu you might as well go whole hog and make the character a 400-year-old spike baby elf who just happens to have the unusual characterestics that allow an elf to become a nosfratu and just happens to be attacked by one for no apparent reason. |

Yeah. The elf is the way to go clearly. I was thinking Night-One more specifically. Perhaps an albino so I can really play out the mild allergy to sunlight. Anyway, I'll need the boosted Charisma and Willpower for summoning Great Form Blood Spirits - what self-respecting Nosferatu would leave home without Sacrificing? Shame about the whole mandatory hermetic tradition... I'd initially wanted to go Path of the Righ.

Probably easier to do in a non-Shadowrun game. |

Personally, I don't want to play a Zombie because they're just so hard to keep in tune. :D

Making a vampire playable is near impossible unless you ditch the improved physical attributes and most important of all "Mist form". You do not want a character that gets inside everything that has the tiniest hole in it. It just isnt fun.... for the others.
Trust me. I tried. Twice. It wasnt pretty. Not a whole group of vampires would be a completly different thing, but then you could just play vampire the masquerade. |

What are the rules for recovering Essence that has been drained by a Vampire? (Are there any?)
So if my 1.5 E Sammie has been subdued by a Vampire, who suceeds in draining 1E from the Sammie before his friends save him, can he recover that drained essence in any way? Or is he SOL? |
