...but I don't think you have to necessarily be perfect at what you do.... Unless you're a meatspace pilot trying to keep up with the VR flyboys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I'm thinking an adept pilot who always dreamed of flying but couldn't get a 'real' job, commercial or military, because they suffer from simsense vertigo. Undeterred, they set out to be the best fraggin' pilot they could be and are out to prove they can be just as good as the the guys using VR. Consider colorblind instead. With all the new AR stuff, it likely isn't an actual problem any more, but I'm sure it would still be something that people would be denied any sort of professional piloting job over just because of tradition. -------------------- "Justice, like lightning, ever should appear to only a few men's ruin, but to all men's fear."

We'll see. Right now my pools are looking to be 8-10 in AR (10-12 in VR) depending on if they go with a skill or matrix attribute, but I'm also at 7 (8 after the +10 BP) for socials, so pretty evenly distributed.
Edit: Karoline, you should get around to making that ork you keep talking about, play the gunner. |

Got two concepts i'm toying about, technoshamanic mechanic and retired roadie troll face, I see sleep and I are overlaping a bit again.
The technomechanic is kind of my take on the Mechanicus cult from WH40K wrote in SR, the roadie is mostly a big troll with some social skills, ware and contacts. I'm not super committed to either concept so i can be flexible. -------------------- Repeat after me:

I've not quite got the details ironed out, by I'll be playing a shaman with a strong focus on spirits and the astral.

I know I tend to have a long list of 'character's I'd like to play' that I always forget whenever I'm sitting at the start of a campaign, but I don't recall any Ork based characters. Not a race I tend to play. -------------------- "Justice, like lightning, ever should appear to only a few men's ruin, but to all men's fear."

Well, I got an amnesiac technoshaman who can't remember anything before about mid 2066, but is told by her fellow TM's that they're pretty sure she was an otaku before the crash. And she can be a sorta face, but she's a hacker, not a rigger. Her only contact is a group one (her guild/tribe) but it's got a decent rating, so.... yeah, not helping with the overlap any. |

It's funny, I think that Orks have the most compelling backstory of any of the metatypes - something about the pathos of their diminished lifespans I suspect. |

I'm playing a human!
(And yes, an Ork would be statistically better for the same points) |

If i go technomancer I'm 99% certain i'll be human as I'll likely be strapped for points. If i go the face/expediter i'll probly be troll as his other major skill will be punching people, unsure if i'll go adept or sam at this point on that one.

After careful consideration, I changed my mind about resources and vehicles. No more group vehicles, instead build your character as you would, everything but vehicles. The resource points for vehicle purchasing you get 20K per point instead of 5K.
I allocate 50 build points for resources, after buying ware/gear/ect, I've used 20 build points, the remaining 30 build points spent on pimping my rides would get me 600K for vehicle purchase. Hope this helps. -------------------- This post has been certified 100% cyber-dinosaur adept free.

Ah, just an Ork in general. Thought maybe I had mentioned some specific concept. -------------------- "Justice, like lightning, ever should appear to only a few men's ruin, but to all men's fear."

I might join in. I also threw my hat in for the infiltration game that just started gathering interest, and I won't go into both, so I'll have to look a bit more at which I'd rather join in the end. I just checked the infiltration game's thread, and the GM has already listed the players who ave the most interesting concepts to him, neither of us was on that list (another one of my dwarves never sees the light of play) so feel free to jump in on this one. Looking at the list chance drew up, we still have room for someone. |

Yeah, just saw that too. Now I just need to settle on a concept.

The macho troll gunner, who has to explain to his ork boyfriend why the rest of us are crashing at their pad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)
And yes, that's a reference to another thread here on the forums. Seriously though, go with whatever you like, we have the technical and social aspects covered pretty well (heavily so on the tech with 2 or 3 riggers and a hacker, less so on the social with no one dedicated face but a couple secondaries), and got one magical support guy, so yeah, go combat or go some other odd route. I'm sure with this many hackers/riggers, we'll have some drones, or at least weapons on the vehicles, though I get the impression this group isn't going to be very meatspace combat driven. |

Okay, I just got done with building my character. He's... quite a character. Came together in my head as I was building him.

I've got a social adept I drew up a while ago that I'd like to play. Here's the link to his sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=240553. It's based off the typical 400 BP chargen, so I'll have to add some more stuff if I fill out the questionnaire and think up a background. Maybe someone who used to work for the legit side of the corp and missed the thrill of his former 'runner life...

I'm still crunching the numbers of Tex the mechanic/technomancer. I'm out of points and sad, still working. Basically if it can be fixed or built he will be able to fix or build it. Think Kaylee from firefly for competence and sunny demeaner, the engineer from TF2 for accent, and a mechanicus cultist from Wh40K for belief system.
