Just tried to save the sheet in the 97/2003 format and (as suspected), got a whole bunch of warnings re loss of functionality and fidelity. Pretty sure that this means "converting" to the older format would mean a major overhaul/re-write.

Your wish is my command! I'm now hosting 3 versions of the sheets at http://shadowrun.nerps.net

I need volunteers to test them. The 97-2000 had several warnings so not sure how it will open in previous versions of Excel.

The ODS version is saved in Open Document version! (I missed that announcement, apparently in Office SP2, they added Open Document support! yeah!) So all you Open Office people, give this version a try and let me know if it works?

Thank you very much.

The Open Office version had issues as well as the Excel 97 version, but then I opened the Excel 97 with Open Office and it worked great so far.

That's interesting... At least it's working at some level. What sort of issues does the ODS version have? (ie completely doesn't work or same issue as before with dropdown lists?)

I wonder if I take the 97 version and save that as ODS?

So I may be silly, but shouldn't it keep track of my points? It's not adding anything up.
I tried both excel versions.

Yes, it tracks BP and Karma spent as well as NuYen. What version of Excel are you using?

You may have to accept the "Certificate" install and "Trust" it for Macros to work properly.

You need to install the certificate to be able to progress your character.

I found some problems, so ill list them here, and ill keep doing that with things found in the future.
(im using the regular version, aka. excel 07)

1. in the BP column of knowledge skills (sheet: build) two of the lines says 3 instead of the calculation thats supposed to be there, effectively lowering your free knowledge points by 6.
2. Missing from the list of gear is the anti MAD scanners from runners companion page 34-35
3. on the advancement sheet you are set as having matrix jargon speciality for your native language, making you start with -1 karma. clearing sheet does not help (leaving me to suspect that its incapable of clearing that field)
4. on "basics main" and "basic alt" sheets all ranged weapons have their ammo pointing at "Advancement!$F$316" when in fact they should point to 316, 317, 318 and so forth.
5. the printable sheets have no capability to reflect that i own more than one vehicle. this quickly becomes a problem for some characters.
6. the drone sheet picks its data form line 603 in the advancement sheet. that is my second vehicle, certainly not three drones.

Keep up the good work, its a great sheet. I can fix some of the problems myself, but not all (i dont know how to make a dropdown list or macro, but i can fix numbers and copy paste!)

Thanks! I've been discovering several of these as well as other hard-coded values left over from who ever used the sheet from when I picked it up. I'm tracking em down as I find em!

1. Already Fixed
2. I'll add this in
3. Correct, it's not clearing that out properly, I'll get that fixed as well
4. Think I have that fixed
5. You could use the drone sheet? Vehicles and Drones are interchangeable
6. I didn't do those sheets but I'll take a look at it. I'm still trying to figure them out as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Would you like me to copy the Drone Sheet and make a Vehicle Sheet and then make a seperate section for each allowing you to basically have/customize 3 vehicles and 3 drones?

Odd, and that's probably been missing for 2 years and your the first one to mention it!

I'll fix it for the next release.

I have not been able to open any of the latest version. I am running Excel 2000. It will not recognize the ODS version, and it tells me too many different cell formats when I try to open either of the excel versions. Any suggestions? I enjoyed working with some of the older versions of the sheet, and was hoping to use this one.

Hmm, 2000 eh? There isn't anyway for me to test it myself to try and correct it, sorry.

Maybe try and install OpenOffice, it's probably much better than Excel 2000 anyway.

I didn't enter the Unwired data, so not sure why some of it's there and some isn't, so post anything you find missing!

I've entered the following missing Qualities for the next release:
- More than Human
- Obscure
- Resonance Bond
- AIPS
- Data Shadow
- Media Junkie
- Virtual Personality

Also added Full Immersion Lifestyle.

I've been puzzled as to why a gnome with control rig and datajack upon advancement is 4(5) for the agility attribute.
Upon advancement under the nuyen section, I should have zero however, I have excess funds.

That is how much you bought gear for i believe, i am not completely sure why you would want it there, but it shows on the top of many of the printable sheets aswell.

Hey! Great work so far, you surpassed everything I tried to do from your older sheet by far!

A couple of things I'd like to see here that I'd just added when I found out you'd continued this sheet:

Submersion costs: The costs seem to be missing group and ordeal modifiers (like Group Submersion discount + Ordeal like Great Hack for instance). Can you throw those on the next version?
Optional Rule: Additional Metamagic/Echos. In Unwired it gives an optional rule for purchasing an additional echo per Submersion level. I assume it's the same for initiation.
Is there a way to navagate the sheets more quickly? Or at least print them all more quickly? Maybe a new sheet that says PRINT and with check marks to print each sheet (for those who don't want to laptop it to a game). That way you could click the Print page (right after Nuyen/Karma for example) and then select Basic, TM, Veh, Combat, ect... and get the sheets you want printed...well, printed. It would be a bit easier for the user, not sure how easy for you the coder though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I didn't see it in this version (may have missed it) but I'd just started working on adding Custom Complex Forms/Programs to the sheet I was working on. Somewhere where you can type in a custom entry and rating and then it would appear on the Hacker/TM sheet for printout (examples of what people would use this with are like TacSoft CF's or Biowire linked ActiveSoft CFs).

This is a GREAT sheet and I've started using the hell out of it, thanks so much for picking this back up Jamz!

Okay, this is likely an idiot question, but when I open up this sheet all I see are the formulas, not the drop down lists. I changed my macro security, but I still only see formulas. What idiot thing am I doing wrong here?

Hi Jamz,

first of all I love your great work.

One thing I'm missing is ... it is "only" English.
I thought it would be really great if this would be multi language...
Yes I know that is a lot of work. But if possible could you make all fields variable?
I'm thinking of a translation table where all text is listed.
Each column one language.
And a dropdown to select the active language
if there is no translation the English word is used.
So anyone could translate what is needed.
By time we would get full translation.
And the actual translation does not have to be done by you.

If this ist to much work for you I would ask if you have a modified version not jet published?
If not i would start this work on version 2.0.3.
But I only use OpenOffice so I do not know if there are issuse than.
OO opens the 2003 version with no problems only some conditional formats and colors are missing as I noticed.

Tanks a lot.

On one of 'em it says, "Too many different cell formats." What the frag does that mean?
