Can the Adept's Improved Senses power mimic Vision Enhancement? If so, at what cost? .25 per levels?

They can do much much better than that, using the Enhanced Perception power along with Improved Ability: Perception.

Sure they can mimic vision enhancement, why not? Though, like hahnsoo said, it would be kind of stupid since the Enhanced Perception power and Improved Ability: Perception power only costs .25 per level and both help all perception tests, not just visual perception tests.

Ooops... I meant Vision Magnification (the thing used to reduce the distance of the target).

Unless they've changed the ruling, an adept's Sense Enhancement power is automatically rated at max possible.
The cybernetic Select Sound Filter (in SR 3) was rated 1 - 5. The adept power is automatically rated at 5. Vision Enhancement, in my opinion, is no different and if the adept selects it, automatically gets it at the max possible rating, in this case 3. So the adept can spend .5 and get +3 dice to Visual and +3 audio checks (.25 a piece for the Sense Enhancements) or +2 dice to all Perception checks (.25 a piece for Enhanced Perception). -Siege Edit: Same thing with Vision Mag - max possible rating. 8) |

That modification would only cost 0.25 Power Points. There are no "levels" of Vision Magnification in SR4. If you have it, you can use a Simple Action to Take Aim to reduce your range penalty to zero (instead of getting +1 die). |

Unless of course you are at your maximum in that power and wants a little extra edge... Near useless though, but still ;) |

They didn't put anything into the SR4 BBB explaining it. So ya, it'll have to wait for an FAQ to clarify it...again. :( P.S. However Vision Magnification no longer has different ratings, so that one is clear enough (yuck, yuck, yuck :wobble: ). |
