Hi All,

I am looking for 1 or 2 players to pad out my game Extassis. We've lost some players over the life of the game (over a year now) and my players need a little more gun power for the story arc. They are currently trying to take down a group of idol shamans for their employer, who has had her rave hit in a big bloody way. The plot is a little more complicated than that. :D

Build Guidelines
125 BP

Then add 100 karma and 500k nuyen to the character.

I am also open to playing established characters you might have, as long as they aren't too out there (my bred drake with all delta, etc). If it's in a FanPro book then you can use it in the game. This is a 3rd ed game right now.

So post concepts here and I'll see what grabs my players.

PS Reading the first few pages of the Extassis thread will help you get a feel for the characters.

How about a lightly cybered ex russian military turned mob enforcer? She's already in another game, Stardust, but if you have room, I'd love to send her your way. She also knows a lot about electronics.

Currently, she's a 125bp with 13 karma. I could simply pump her up to speed.

Hrm...I've a couple of character concepts I could toss out to you to see which you prefer.

Ex-Military Razored Dwarf, specializing in heavy weapons

Disgruntled Norse Giant who constantly has to deal with the prejudices of being bigger than everyone else, feared by all - enjoys taking his aggression out by beating people up with large objects (could be either an adept or vatjob)

Laconic, easy-going Wyrm shaman who runs for the sheer pleasure of acquiring shiny things to sleep on (race can be any, really. I lean towards human or Night One)

Whatever would fit best, really. I'm malleable that way.

Ack, I'm afraid I'm going to have to take my hat out of the ring. Some shit came up today and the next couple of weeks will not be as free as I had previously thought. :(

Best of luck to everyone else! :)

Hiroto Misashi

Hiroto grew up in a small Japanese village, away from the corporate governed world of today. He was taught the way of the warrior from a young age.

He shamed and dishonored himself a number of years ago, too afraid to do the right thing he left, searching for a way to redeem himself in his own eyes so that he can return and redeem himself to his father. He carries his sword but refuses to use it till he feels he's worthy of wielding it once more.

Aaron Gray, Tir born Elf, Phys-ad.

Gray was born and raised in the Tir and was the son of one of the paladins of Prince Lugh Surehand. Since infancy he was raised to believe in the causes of the Tir and trained to someday follow in his father's footsteps. At age 17 he told his father he had no wish to follow the policies of the Tir and refused to take the Oaths. His father disowned him immediately and has not spoken to him since. He left the Tir and turned his talent and training to shadow running. Fiercely competetive Aaron has spent the last four years attempting to prove himself as a warrior and rarely turns down a challenge.

Charming, and intelligent he is a student of the arts of war in all its forms. He enjoys life and all the experiences it can provide. Something of a hedonist Aaron spends much of his time simply attempting to satisfy his curiosity and experience all he can in this life.

Enrique Valdez
Elf
Ex-Aztechnology Security Forces: Heavy Weapons/Demo Expert

After going on a few too many missions where the objective was to terrorize and murder the civilians of the Yuccatan and seeing his best friend used as fuel for blood magic, Valdez lost his faith in the corp. After making contact with the local runner community he helped a team make a huge heist and in return he was extracted to Seattle. He's got some cred under his belt and some nice cyberware and bang bangs courtesy of the good old Azzies, but he doesn't know a soul in the city (hung out to dry flaw) and he's looking to make a new start.

He's not the best at being quiet but he's a pro and very eager to find a new home in the shadows.

Link to Valdez's Backstory (Short Fiction)

P.S. What grades of cyberware/bioware and availability levels are allowed?

Johnathan Freeman, "Maestro"
Ork, exotic weaponry specialist

A professional criminal for fifteen years and running, the Maestro understands that the key to succeeding at a job is having the right tool, and knowing how to use it. The subtle power of a narcojet pistol, the surgical precision of a sniper rifle, and the unfocused devastation of a claymore mine can all be powerful tools to apply to a run- and he can use them all with skill and confidence. If he can't find the peice he needs in his considerable arsenal, no worries- give him a week or two and he'll make it himself.

His street name comes from a bizarre and unique weapon he has designed and made his firearm of choice. Cross-linking his smartlink with a musician's synthlink and extensively redesigning a gas vent with valves and precise tonal proportions, Maestro has transformed a standard Ingram LMG into an exquisite wind instrument that plays a requiem for his enemies as he guns them down.

The full version of this character history has been sent to Buddah

How do you do the "Spoiler" mark to shrink this down?

"Alondil" Human/Physad/Drone Rigger. 24.

Liam was not born awakened and from a very young age always loved to break and fix things around the house. Radio's Trid screens, and any sort of crappy appliance you might find.

To begin with his mother was not all to pleased with his destructive behaviour but after making sure he always asked before he dismantled anything, she made sure he was given all the OLD appliances in the house.

Low and behold that by the age of 11, he was pretty good at fixing stuff. At school he loved electronics and design technology. At home, if he was not reading through books that were grades above his year; he also played copious amounts of computer games.

His mother was a mage of limited power and she simply ran a public house. She would often conjure low force spirits to keep Liam busy or help around the place doing chores and the like. This allowed Liam more time to study and play.

It was not until Liam turned 15 that he became magically active. However he was not interested in this new "ablity" and was more interested in his computer games and technical work. When he was 16 and still way beyond his years, he moved straight on to University to Study Advanced Drone Engineering after passing previous exams with flying colours. By the time he finished at 18, he had assisted some of his professors in some major break through's in some design interfaces and control upgrades.

He came out and immediately began working for (GM to enter corp). With his first paychecks he got a Rigger Control Unit and some other cyberware installed that was subsidised by the corp. (dont worry, it will all be paid in full! :-).

By the age of 24 he had become head of R&D for Drones Engineering. The research was generally quite hushed as some of the designs were military. It was only when he began working with military designs that he noticed he was exceptional at shooting things while rigged. He felt that many things about the controls felt the same as playing Descent 2065 back when he was a kid and so it came quite naturally to him.

Where did it all go wrong? Well as it turned out it was the insertion of a shadowrun team into his department that made him go rogue. He was used as a tool for bargaining data as the run went wrong. The shadowrunners knew that Dr Liam McNiel was the head R&D and that someone on his mainframe computer was all his latest research that was about 3 months ahead of rivals. However, Liam had recently transferred over all his information for review the night before.

Naturally, this meant that the information was in Liams head. Now he knew that these people were shadowrunners. He had read back story reports and seen all the movies, let alone played many of the RPG's where you play as one or the team in Simsense. This intrigued him and so he offered to help them willingly, of course for a price.

The runners agreed as their pay was apparently quite substantial. They took him to a Street Doc who was pretty clued up and kept him hidden and safe for a month. Liam withdrew all his savings and left his life behind him. Fortunately there was not much to leave as the only thing in his life at that time was his mother who had passed away a year before. After this month, the Doc pulled out a corpse from his morgue (or so it seamed); a clone of Liam. The runners proceeded to install some defunct cyberware they had chopped out of a few gangers a while back. They rigged the (recently dead)clone into a car and caused a major pile-up crushing the car and squishing this missing person.

Once this was done and Liam knew he was now alone, he gave all the information that he had (and the information that he had been working on since he made a break to start a more exciting life). He has been working the shadows for about 6 months now and has gathered together a decent amount of drones equipped with guns and equipment to help in any number of situations. Unfortunately his personality clashed with another member of his group so he politely asked his fixer if he could look out of any groups that were lacking a person (or a drone rigger).

Morally Liam is pretty cold and calculating like the machines he works in. He has no interest in Magic really and has only read bits about other people like him. Although he is initiated, it has been purely through chance and experience. The one thing he does do is work well with others. With his teams of drones he runs reconnaissance and provides tactical layouts and approaches, as well as driving his team from place to place. He does not deck and hates the Matrix interface.

In his spare time he still plays a lot of computer games. His favourite games are the latest edition of Wipeout, RPG's, and any type of Flight/Space sim. The more realistic the better. He sometimes take it to the next level by using his current drones to shoot down other cheaply self made rotor drones that he sets up and shoots down from his van on the occasional trip through Redmund Barrens. If ever he gets harassed, they too make good target practise.

He has recently updated his cyberware but has been careful not to add too much as although he has no interest in magic, he knows its strength within him.

Excellent stuff so far I am going to close down the recruitment thread this coming Friday and put up a list of the chosen character concepts. From that point on will have a week to make/finish the character and get it to me.

The avail. rating is the standard for character creation (rating 6/avail. 8) so if it's in that range you can have it. After you've done character creation and added the extra cash/nuyen I am raising the rating to 10/avail. 10. I also use cash for karma and karma for cash. The conversion rate is 1 point for 5k. You can covert up to half your karma this way and can buy up to 1/2 your karma with cash.

If you have a character history of some length or depth, feel free to email it to me at buddhaboy72@hotmail.com so I can pass it on to the players to look over.

Thanks for all the interest!

Nick "Havoc" Parker

Human Physad with a little cyber/bio.

Ex-Lone Star SWAT and Ex-DocWagon Gunbunny

Skilled in Assault Rifles, Pistols, Patching Holes, and not taking drek from anybody

Nick Parker got into Lone Star and DocWagon for the action. That part was good, but corp rules had never really agreed with him and he'd never been impressed with intangible rewards like saving lives or making the world a better place.

Taking the name Havoc, Parker left the nice upper world and hit the grimy shadows literally with both guns blazing. He loves the freedom that comes from this new existence and he's going to ride it for all it's worth.

He's a big talker, but he'll never say anything that he can't back up with action. He's go the skills, the knowledge, and the contacts that will benefit any team; and he'll watch your back when the going gets rough, but frag with him and you'll never imagine the kind of hell he'll bring down on you.

Mad Mack. A paranoid schitzophrenic magician who lives in a haunted house in the Barrens (which despite has a yard noone tries to squat in, because almost everyone who tries ends up dead). He manages to survive because he can't tell the difference between the resident toxic hearth spirit's efforts and his own paranoid delusions and hallucinations. He has an ally spirit that he thinks is his girlfreind, and has difficulty telling the difference between his spirits and elementals and the voices in his head. He's got a fire elemental that looks like a leprechaun that tells him to burn stuff, and uses watcher spirits as flying motorcycles whenever he needs to go anywhere. He's also good at blowing stuff up with his magic, and his grenade launcher.

He has a gun. Well, a grenade launcher, at least. He likes the grenade launchers because they make bigger bangs.

And he's got 6 ranks in Launch Weapons, Force 2 Enhance Aim, Force 1 Improved Initiative III, and a pair of matching sustaining foci, so he's pretty good with it.

Chi-Sao a Young Chinese Adept gunslinger born in Shaanxi, raised in Everett Seattle.

Chi-Sao was trained with kung-fu and firearms from a very young age. This was partially due to his fathers background and a Sifu that remains his master to this day. He is always clean shaven and can be considered Loyal, trustworthy and reliable. At least that is what he hopes his friends would consider him to be. As it goes for his opponents he is a sneaky assassin who can shoot a dime at extreme range with a pistol in the dark. Look at him wrong and you will be missing an eye.

He does not restrict himself to just pistols however and amongst other weapons his most valuable asset is stealth and having a plethora of contacts to get him where he needs to go and get what he or others need.

He is purely a street urchin turned hard case with a sprawl upbringing whose violence he has controlled with practise, training and martial arts. He has good knowledge of magic, the streets and makes a good face.

A detailed History & character has been e-mailed to Buddha.
