Well for a while now I been recording a short audio film and finally the first draft is done. I took a story from the Renraku: Shutdown and made a audio film. The below link is just one part of the 13 1/2 minute film. As you can tell from this sample, the pacing is WAY off, but it is a really good start.
Audio Film part 5, first version (link not available) Again this is the very first version of one of the parts of the film. All of the sound fxs are rough or temp, the character Control, needs a filter and half a dozen of other things to be fixed ... So what do you think? If nothing else it is a bit of a geek thrill to hear the lines come to life. |

'Audio film?'
Heh. They used to call these 'radio plays', but I guess the term doesn't apply here. |

Quite good. They could've put more emphasis on the curse words- make it feel like it's something they're really biting off- but really excellent. They feel like professionals.

It's good enough that I'm putting it on my iPod.
Btw, whatever happened to that podcast of the new Shadowrun novel? The links dead. |

Well here is one more part of the final version. Don't expect it to make sense, but some of you should enjoy it. Feel free to tell other people if you like it. Let me know what you think by posting here.
ARC shutdown teaser (link not available) Also keep in mind that the next project I plan on doing will be available to public. So if you have something you want done, let me know. I would need a short script (less than 12 pages). Stay shiny, - Mardegun |

Dude, you work for [DELETED BY Dept. of Homeland Security]
Uh, anyway, I'm downloading the file now. EDIT: Voice acting was pretty good for amateurs. It really was. I kind of felt like it wavered between sounding a bit like the cast of Scooby Doo and really really being there. Hell, though, it's probably better than anything I could do. I love the radio static and the background sound. They're really effective. This is actually even more kickass than 1950s old radio shows. As far as I'm concerned this thing totally pwns The Shadow. (And yes, I used to listen to The Shadow and The Lone Ranger at the Museum of Televison and Radio in NYC.) Anyway, I am really, really happy to have heard that. Nice work. |

In any case in regards to SR, thanks for the comment. I am pretty proud on how the radio play came out. Nearly every single voice is from amateurs (non-actors) and I think they did a pretty good job. I could asked for better performances, but since they were doing it as a favor, I didn’t want to be an ass about it.
In any case glad you enjoyed it |

Well, I'm just overwhelmed I was actually able to interact with someone who is into both old radio style productions *and* made some of the maps for one of my favorite games. This has been a very good day. |

I like it a lot! I play the rigger with my team, so he's always the communication hub, so when I imagine what's going on it sounds a lot like that. Bravo!

 YES!!!!! This is perfect for setting some atmosphere in the campaign I wish to run! Having loved the renraku shutdown source book I will use material from it as much as possible. I know that SR4 is way moved on from that, but I have a habit of taking players back in time to become key characters in the history of the SR4 universe. This is perfect to set up the mood before I let the players break into the Archology! NICE! :D I can't wait to hear the whole thing! EDIT:
Urm... does that mean the rest of this will not be available to us? |

lol, you are the first person to catch that. I am sorry to say it is unlikely that I will publish this piece. I promised that it wouldn't be released in its entirety. I would have recast at least one voice before I could do a full release. Not even to mention the copy right issue. Before I try to do more I also wanted to know the general interested. I didn’t think to put a counter on the link and just hoped people would post. :| |

I think people should socially pressure you through lifeless text until you release it. You can't just get us all excited to leave us hanging!
The amount of effort into the SR community is limited, it's almost wasteful to not let everyone hear your work I suppose I am trying to speak for the collective more so than myself |

Very cool. Though the clean SR swearing sounds foolish. Though there is the fact that it wasn't a forbidden word as a kid so doesn't sound like swearing...

Ah! crap! Soooooooooo if it's copyrighted.... who is this for? Is it going to be a comercial release (i.e. in the shops)?
Is there any way we can get our grubby mits on this? AT ALL? :( As for what we would like to see in the future, maybe some stuff on the crash 2.0. Or even better the Buzzkill story in the very beginning of the SR4 main book! :D |

A lot of people seem to dislike the SR swearing but I really don't understand where they're coming from. Language changes and evolves and diction shifts. Back in the 1960s it used to be really bad to say "cock" but now it's not a big deal. At the same time, people didn't say "fuck" in the 1930s but it's become very commonplace now. I just don't understand how it's hard to understand that new cursewords have emerged. If you went back to 1850 and told someone to "fuck off" they probably would think that you sounded silly and not menacing. Likewise, "slot off" might sound silly to day but I have no trouble imagining that it's all rude and menacing in a different chronological and cultural setting. |

I think you guys have lost focus on coercing Mardegun into letting us hear the rest of the Audio Film.
Even if it's horrid, it's still the best audio film Shadowrun's got! And I'm sure WixKid's Lawyers would come after you for the royalties on the hours of unremunerated time you spent on it. |

Very true. apologies. :) But I am serious when I say this is a wonderful peace of work and I cannot wait to hear more. You are about to get a fan base on this if you are not careful! ;) As for copyright, I am sure fanpro or Wizkids will not mind someone putting this much hard work into something that basically idolises their game. and as you are not making any money out of it they are even less likely to jump ya! :) Anyways, PLEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE let us know if you change your mind. You could even sneak us a PM if you don't want it public. We won't tell. :P EDIT:
Way to make a guy paronoid!

I suppose if enough people are interested I could look into releasing it. However that would require some additional work.
