Ok folks i just finished my last major project for shadow run, titles The Death/Escape of the Chiba-4.

it's basically a adventure based about the Redmond Yak and a bunch of double crossing between the Japanesse yak and the Seattle Yak.

but that besides the point.

My next project is going to be my home city and that Hamilton Ontario.

Now i was wondering how many of you people out there have done simular project and are willing to share, cause i know, unlike previous projects i have never shared with the genral public.

When this project is done i will be sharing it .

Now do some postings.

Hmm... The Shadows of Bowie, Maryland.

No, doesn't really strike me, sorry.

Anyway, all the neat places around here are already covered under NAGNA.

...Helsinki.

Never really thought about really running it, could be interesting though. We've always played Seattle-based campaings, since it's the default and as such has a lot of game-related material. The wireless matrix-thingie (we play 3rd. and won't EVER change) could be the source of nice runs. Plus, I guess it would kinda neat that you could name certain adresses and places, since this city's still gonna be the same come 2060. Nice thread.

Hmm.. The town I live in doesn't have much that could have shadows. Our biggest gang problem is taggers (people who spray their tags, but don't do anything else), and people from other towns coming in to sell drugs. We have a college and an air force base. That's pretty much it.

There has already been much official stuff about my place and I´m a Seattle-Fan anyway, so I´ve never done something like this (at least not to my knowledge :wobble: )

Well I live in Seattle, so I've bee pretty well covered, so I've never done any major work, though due to requests here I've started doing some neighborhood security zone maps for Seattle.

Some places I'd like to see covered:

I would like to see a Shadows of Africa. Africa is Biologically, Geologically, Sociologically and Politically interesting place in 2006. It's probably even crazier in 2066.

Along this line I'd like to see something about the Pacific Islands too, it's been a long time since Hawaii got a write up and most of the rest of Polynesia, Micronesia, etc. got either a passing comment or nothing at all in Shadows of Asia. With all the Nuclear tests and WWII battles combined with interesting Islander Cultures it seems like an interesting place to Run.

If I ever do my own in depth Seattle Guide book I'll be sure to share it.

Shadows of Ottawa.

Imagine the fun of running the Shadows in the former Canadian capital, just a stone's throw away from the Quebec border, and the Toronto sprawls.

Shlameel Slamazel....The shadows of Milwaukee

Yes, I am actually working up a segment in the ol brew town subtitled "Take the ChipHeads Bowling"

In the background

With the Bug City mess in Chicago, M'waukee (as it is called by the locals) experienced period of rapid growth. as business fled the mayhem (and nukes). The major corps include the Bradley corporation (Industrial Electronics) The Chalmers Group (Heavy machinery and High Tech power generation. In real life, Allis Chalmers was the sole supplier of Fuel Cells for all of the Gemini, & Apollo spacecraft as well as the early orbital stations). Of course there's Muller Brewing but they are not the only purveyors of suds in the town as there is a thriving craft brew community. Some of the Megas also have operations here including Ares, Seder Krupp (which has it's "Village" arcology in the old Third Ward), and NeoNet.

Several new corporations have also made their headquarters in the town Beer made famous. One is Marathon Aerotek with facilities at Mitchell Sky Harbour and Southlake (Racine/Kenosha, which was the site of an reliever airport for O'Hare that was never completed due to the crash of 29). Another major player is I-Motive which is a manufacturer of linear induction systems & Fuel Cell Power plants for Transportation. Basically M'waukee has returned to it's rightful place as the Machine shop of the world.

With it's strong Euro ethnic roots, The city has a surprising old world charm that of course masks the more seamy side of the city. On the surface, it is almost like taking a step back in time. Buildings & skyscrapers in the centre of town must adhere to a civic design code. In short, instead of bland glass & concrete slabs, Structures sport many historical elements including peaked roofs, spires, gargoyles, and other ornamental features. Public transportation employs streetcars and double deck busses. The arts are a big part of daily life and the city is home to what has become a world class conservatory.

The government is socialistic, managed by the Common Council that works with the office of the Mayor (Yes the old cathedral like City Hall is still standing). The police force is administered by the City and County but is patterned after the Gendarme of Austria (definitely not Keystone cops). On the underworld side, the Red Vory is big here, as is the Mafia (has been for as long as I can remember). The Asian gangs (including the Yakuza) are less predominent and keep a low profile . Neighbourhood ethnic gangs are another matter entirely. The Croats, The Serbs, The Hispanic, and Filipino gangs tend to make the news the most. Humanis has a presence here, mostly in the outlying areas of the city. There are also of course gangs formed along Metahuman lines as well.

Racially speaking, the predominant meta types are, not surprisingly, Dwarves, Orcs, and Trolls. There is a small exclusive elf community in the former suburb of Brown Deer but for the most part, elves here tend to avoid much of the city proper save for the cultural area of downtown.

Well, so much for the little travelogue. There is a lot more detail, but of course it would be too lengthy to post in its entirety here.

A friend of mine threw us into a run actually in Denmark and his version (added I think by the unofficial Denmark Sourcebook) was kinda fun and interesting. Seeing the three cities in the area where I was born grow together into a 30 km squared spawl is a possibility, but Denmark-Norway-Sweden grow into the Nordic Defense Pact, that the rest of Europe fear, I think not. Underwater military bases along the coast. Bornholm turned into a huge Inter Continental Missile Silo...Though the thing about seperating Jutland from the rest of Europe by a 3 km wide channel, always sounds appealing.

I have thought about using it, and with Shadow of Europe it is a more viable option, but Seattle is something I have always used, cept maybe once or twice and I know it so ....

I do like to see your finished project :)

I'm running the Shadows of St. Louis and have been for several months, almost a year.

I came here to get info on it, and did a campaign write up for it, including several important changes for the Shadowrun timeline.

As of 2057, my timeline offically divurged from Cannon and will stay that way. I'm getting ready to blow up the world to bring us up into SR4.

Actually between Dayton, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinatti it seems like a lot of small to mid size Corporations make their homes in Ohio. (Kroeger, National City Mortgage just off the top of my head). Seems like ther would probably still be a fair amount of that going in the 2060's even if now they are just division, branch, or subsidiary HQ's for the Megas. Lots of manufacturing in Ohio too. And then there are those weird stories about that bridge accident on the Ohio WV border (I know it's the other end of the state from Cleveland).

That might be a bit over the top, but the fact is that the scandinavian countries are pretty wealthy compared to their southern neighbors. I guess Sweden hasn't much of military assets, but Norway and Finland are pretty well of in that regard. The (mostly imaginary) threat of Russia makes a good breeding ground for the military here. Plus we got our European Fast Response unit, in which the nordic countries are heavily invested. The moderate populations of these countries combined with the comparative wealth could make us rise above rest of the europe, in which the population figures are greater and the state of social security worse, just zoom in on Paris, couple of weeks ago.

There have been talks about forming such an initiative in the past, but it has always been stopped by something, at times the EU, other times in fighting. I guess with the USSR down the drain and EU boosting for power, there isnt a good enough reason to form one ... yet. Us Scandinavians have always felt a certain attachment to each other, at least Denmark, Norway, Sweden - reaching out to Iceland and maybe even Finland as a form of Brotherhood, but guess that is it.

If the EU came tumbling down, I sincerely hope these countries will pull together and do it.

... well enough ramblings, though if you had this setting it would be interesting to run some runs for the governments around it.

If you look through the early issues of NAGEE, one of 'em has a Shadows of Dayton article that a couple of people I knew at Univ of Dayton wrote back in the early '90's.

I've actually played around with Cleveland, and it's pretty easy to SR-ify it. Mostly because, well, when you're economically depressed already, it's not hard to make things just a little bit worse. :P

I found the Shadows of Dayton write up. My Girlfriend from there found it interesting, though we'll probably do some adaptation. Apparently a few towns incorporated (including her's) that need to get included.

The Shadows of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Lots of Sioux and a fair amount of Biotech, Target Corporation is from here, as is General Mills, Honeywell, 3M, some fairly big plaers in the computer/supercomputer market.

I have played here, made 3M and Medtronic rivals.

Back when SR3 came out, and with very little info about New York beyond the Queens County border in NAGuide-North America, I thried to organize some fellow SR players to put together a kind of NAg for Long Island. There was some minor interest, until Steel rain came out, which had the island turned into a east-coast 'little japan'. The project died soon after that.

Hmmm... I live right now in a small college town... maybe the local cereal plant could be the victim of datasteals from Kellogg because their cereal is far superior? For the sake of clarity, it indeed is better than Kellogg or General Mills. Which sounds fucking lame, unless people started stuffing their shotguns with puffed rice instead of rock salt, in which case it would still be fucking lame.
