Can Armor spell can be cast on vehicles?

If yes, that's a munchkins way to add cheap armor to your vehicle... Plus, you don't have to bother with handling decreasing and extra load... Even if real Armor Vehicle is better than just ballistic one...

I can't find anything that impeed that in the rules but it may be a hole in the rules... What do you think?

Well, the first sentence in the descripiton states "target" but another line uses "character" to describe the effects. This could mean that the spell can be cast on any non-character, but will provide no effect.

Vehicle armor is nice, but it does nothing to stop the classic called shot to the occupants unless you're in a tank.

To drag this furthur off topic, yes I have. That monkey wrench puzzle in LeChuck's Revenge is the most irritating in any of the 4 games, with Monkey Kombat a close second.

Hehe. I´d support a character that gave his spells cute names like that :)

Oh thank you... i miss the "characters" part...

But what if your car is a city spirit? Could we consider it as a character? :P

Unfortunatly, yes, but it won't get hardened vehicle armor unless it is trapped within a vehicle homunculus. Just giving it the form of a vehicle means that it only has the armor spell on top of Immunity to Normal Weapons, which isn't quite as good vehicle armor. After all, you can't will a vehicle to death while swinging a fishing pole in its general direction.

Of course, with the vehicle form you have great advantages, the ability to go astral, 3D movement, and other forms. It is the only reasonable way to have Optimus Prime as your Ally Spirit.

Considering that vehicle mask is a separate spell from physical mask, I would probable insist on a separate version of the armor spell as well. And you would probably only be adding standard armor, not vehicle armor - which would not be worth the drawback of having an extremely conspicuous vehicle (armor spell glows).

(armor spell glows)

So does a good ground effects kit, but people put those on cars.

Easier targets for attack helicopters. Yeah. I can see "good" = "bright."

You know... a glowing tank rolling down Main Street isn't going to attract that much more attention than a non-glowing tank rolling Main Street. If you are going to attract attention, compound your sins and go the whole hog.

So you're saying the tank should also play La Cucaracha when you hit the horn, and have a hydraulics kit on the treads? ;)

You could go for the pink elephant effect, something so bizarre that eveyone who sees it will put it off as a figment of their imagination. So a glowing tank that is playing La Cucaracha and jumping up and down due to the hydraulics in its tread might be to the point where people will not acknowledge it. :silly:

edit: and to be back on topic. the spell is non-hardened right? So it doesn't really help much to the vehicle I would think. But, I'm just guessing. :wobble:

Wether the spell is hardened or not may be moot when layering it with hardened armor. Say a character has 8 points of hardened armor Force 2 and someone hits him with a Predator. The magic armor reduces the power of the attack to 7, which can't get past the hardened armor.

This might be a dumb question, but would APDS and AV armor half the rating of the spell as well or just be slowed by the full force and then half the armor hiding behind the spell?

Actually do not tell me.

Adding arms, legs, and an expensive transformation system to turn your tank into a giant anthroform drone which is a glowing pink replica of Generation 2 Megatron. Of course, once you have a tank the armor spell is kind of worthless. The nicer main battle tanks can take and dish out navel scale damage.
