Player list:
DireRadiant--DES, Rigger/Shamanic Conjuring Adept (human) ** GingerKid--JuJu, Combat Mage (human) ** Bearclaw--Hunter, Street Sam (orc)** Rokur--Krum, Meat Shield (Troll) ** Crystal Monkey--Kevin McKnight, Hacker (Human-looking Orc)** Warrior--Wolfgar, Phys-ad Weapons Specialist (elf) ** I keep an online record of your character sheets. Feel free to refer to it if you don't have your sheet with you when posting. Also that is where I will occasionally post maps and handouts. Team--I need a list of what gear you have wireless enabled, wireless disabled, and non-wireless (Either the module was pulled out or was purchased non-wireless) Anyone who wants to work together to build a background story, now is the time, and this is the place. Rokur--As per SR4, p. 151, you can Intercept anyone passing within 1 meter of you as a free action. It does not mention reach of melee weapons effecting the range at which you can intercept, however reach bonuses or penalties will still apply to the actual melee test. Edited for Racial correctness. Hmm... well i guess you get final say on what can or can't be wireless enebaled/disabled, but I did read that our jackets are able to download songs and play them for us!
Non- wireless = Weapons, Shield, IDs/Credsticks?, Helmet Clothes - cheap doubt they can be wireless. but disabled if possible, Wireledd disabled= armor jacket, and bike when off, Wireless Enabled = Bike when on :D, glasses, and commlink Oh and do you do the no sigs in IC rule? edit: wanted to mention If any of you wanted to say we have some sorta history together, then read my char's background on the website, and see where you'd write urself in. |

Right now I can't seem to get onto any characters except Crum and Wolfgar.
As for my gear: Passive Mode - Commlink I don't think anything else CAN be wireless, but if I discover something else is wireless capable I'm going to disable it. (I will most definately be in my home and scanning to make sure I'm not giving off signals.) Edit: Do you want me to send you an HTML version of my sheet? I would think it would be pretty long. I'm looking for a different form of character sheet too. |

Crystal--I fixed the connections so that all the sheets work. I don't need an HTML version right now.
Re: Kevin's Gear--Both guns are wireless capable unless you bought them non-wireless. This is so that they can be compatible with a Smartlink system. The clothing has RFID tags in it which are active out to 40m. A simple tag-eraser will do the trick there. Rokur--In general, I support a No Sig Policy in the IC threads as it helps maintain the feeling of the story. That said, my personal settings are setup so that I don't view sigs at all and thus won't personally know if you make a slip. |

Wolfgar's only "linked" gear is his glasses and smartlinks, both are set up for skin links but are currently not linked due to not having a commlink. for use of his smartgun he uses induction pads in his gloves wired to his glasses. everything else is latent, unwired.
also wolfgar is an elf, not a human |

Warrior--I'm not seeing the induction pads listed in your gear or in the book...it sounds like you want a skinlink setup for your gun and glasses, which you don't need a commlink for.

All of JuJu's wireless equipment is linked through his comlink. All of these are wireless: earbud, contact lenses, cyberware scanner, motion sensor
The taser has had it's wireless capability turned off. |

dont worry about the induction pad stuff then, they were my explanation to another GM on a different character as to why my char didnt have a commlink or internal smartlink.

Warrior--Right now, the Smartlink glasses and guns are wireless and ready to go. That's all you need. If you don't want them to be wireless, you can add a skinlink to the glasses and a skinlink to your gun, then the smartlink still works and cannot be jammed.

DES is all wireless ON.
Though I am wondering about lowering the signal level on some items. There's no reason for items like glasses to have more then a 1 signal. |

Ways for others to have met DES.
"DES" (most people just hear the "Des") flies a lot of stuff in and out of the Seattle Metroplex. If you've had to hop a border quietly you might have had Des as a pilot. Shipped a small package across town in a hurry, Des may have been the one who sent that Rotodrone to pick it up. Gone to a meet and had a rotodrone scan you before proceeding, that might have been Des. Flown out in the Sound to rendezvous with a shipment from Siberia, that was probably Des. Been to a meet to get rid of or buy some illicit goods, and there was a rotodrone warmed up and watching, that was Des. As you can tell it'd be pretty easy for Des to have met or know any of the others. Background: [ Spoiler ]

Warrior--all devices can be modified for a skin link (and would need to be in order to use the skin link). There is no need for them to be routed through a comm link--the smartlink system can talk directly to the image link and smartgun.
Crystal--I'll get the ball rolling tonight. Bearclaw--I need the gear question answered. Dire--Is it pronounced Dess, Dez or Day? Team--If you have not fleshed out your contacts, I will fill in the details as I see fit going off of the information that I have on your sheets. If there are specific personality quirks that you want built in, then I need that info sent to me. |

Alright I'm going to try and get more information on the missing link between the account and his cash using Data Search + Browse:
Roll: 2 6 1 2 6 2 6 4 1 6 Hits: 4 If I don't find it, I'm going to let my browse program search for me. |

Hunter's smartlink is skinlinked directly to his image link, skipping the comm-link entirely, if that's possible. The cyberware can also connect to the commlink through my skinlink, right? Or do I need to buy it multiple times?
The comm link itself is on passive, unless he's playing Miracle Shooter :D which he tries to avoid whenever there's business going on. |

I'm going to be casting Increase Reflexes (Force 3) into my sustaining focus using my power focus.
spellcasting + magic + power focus = 14 dice 2,2,1,3,6,5,4,5,6,6,1,5,2,4 = 6 successes (but only 3 count right?) drain resist = willpower + logic = 10 dice 4,5,6,1,2,3,4,4,5,3 = 3 successes (so no drain) Normal 'Meet' gear is : armor vest, taser, comlink with all the goodies, sensor, scanner, generator, power focus deactivated, sustaining focus (see above). Also JuJu will wait to leave so that he arrives 10 mins early. |

Bearclaw--You have to buy the skinlink for each item that you want to use it. If you have a datajack you can route all of your cyberware through that and only buy the one skinlink.

Don't you have to have a bunch of wires running to your head that way?

Bearclaw--Nope, the datajack has a wireless module and if you purchase a skinlink for the datajack, it will run the signal along the electrical field of your body to communicate with other skin linked devices. Conversely, if you don't run the skin link, you can route everything through the datajack so you only have to load up the IC and firewall in one spot rather than protect every single different piece.
An easy way to visualize it is to draw a circle for the outside world, and triangles for each piece of cyberware, and squares for external gear. Now, draw lines that connect the cyberware to the outside world either directly or by creating bridges between devices. If a piece of gear has the wireless function disabled, put a slash through it so you know that it doesn't talk. |

Team--anyone doing legwork about the Suit or the Paradise O?
Throw out some etiquette or data search depending on your method of choice. (It is possible to default on this test for public information and opinons.) Crystal--The "missing link" is a side detail tying into other things. A company owned agent will keep looking for you. Ginger--Yes, only 3 successes count on the casting test. BTW, which attribute is your Inc Attribute spell for? Rokur--You still with us? |

I'll search from some clues.
For finding information about The Suit: 6 3 1 6 3 5 2 6 6 1 Hits: 5 For the Paradise O: 3 5 6 2 1 1 1 3 3 1 Hits: 2 Both are using Data Search, and I'm going to have my browse program scanning for any information regarding the two up until about three hours before I have to be there. It shouldn't take me too long to get there using public transportation I hope. |

If I understand this.
I can have my agent browse for data on the Suit and the "O" Agent 4 + Browse 3 = 7 Pool Extended Test Interval 1 minute(entire matrix) 7 attempts 5 5 4 2 2 1 1 = 2 hits 6 6 5 3 3 1 1 = 3 6 6 3 3 3 1 1 = 2 6 6 4 3 2 1 1 = 2 6 4 4 3 2 2 1 = 1 5 5 4 4 3 1 1 = 2 6 6 6 5 3 3 1 = 4 , 16 total The Agent is loaded with the following and running on my commlink; Browse 3 Stealth 5(4) Scan 5(4) ECCM 5(4) |

Crystal--Please post how you are generating your dice pool (Data Search + Browse for example) Also, is your browse program loaded into an agent? Otherwise it's just a program and doesn't have the "free will" to navigate on its own, ie no Pilot rating.
Dire--Does your agent have an autosoft for Data Search? Otherwise it rolls 0 (Data Search) + 3 (Browse), so you roll 3 dice. Threshold for Data searches will be 4 with an interval of 30 seconds. You don't have to search the entire matrix, only sections in the Greater Seattle area or pertaining to Seattle, and the information isn't highly classified so it sohuld be fairly easy. Each time you achieve four successes, you'll get a new bit of info until all of it has been collected. |
