How would you possibly manage to fit that into anything resembling the Shadowrun starting system rules?

Fixed that for you.

That isn't a defense. Having to make a willpower test everytime someone pulled out a pocket secretary, when checking out at any store, and ect. would be crippling.

As for horrible characters, there's always this (which I'm sure some of you still remember and have mental trauma associated with).

Did you ever force him to tell you what Comp. Light (Floating) was?

If I had to GUESS (and this is only a guess), it's a mild compulsion to float - to use his force 6 levitation spell. I think that would be more or less in line with the character concept thus far.

Ahh, got'cha. Makes sense (well, as much as anything on that sheet makes sense). "Compulsion/Light: Floating." Yeah.

I just IMed the player and asked.

He doesn't remember anymore, but he proposed the following:

"If one is in water, one prefers to float than to actually swim."

...I don't get it either.

Yeah. And, hey, look! Here's Crit, with a simple, mundane, shoot 'em up scout/sniper guy, tailor made for this "gritty, semi-militant, merc game in Africa." Fuck you and your games.

Does he GM for you or something?
