OOC Posting Thread – SR4 Online Forum Adventure – Don’t Get Comfortable

What goes here: Game related chat, questions and answers both to and from the GM and other PC’s, dice rolls, etc.
What goes in the IC Thread: Your character’s description of his actions and speech, interaction with other players in-game, my in-game notes to your character, and my posts of what happens during the game session.

IC Posting Rules:
1. Date/Time/Place stamp posts in red at the top where appropriate (significantly different from previous posts)
2. Use normal text for actions and speech (with quotes around audible speech).
3. Italicize thoughts, foreign languages, and commlink actions
4. Bold PC and NPC names
5. Use Spoiler tags where appropriate (privileged information, dice rolls)

Don’t post a description of action that you don’t control (NPC’s, spirits, consequences, etc) and I will do the same for you. I will attempt not to post any PC actions unless you approve or they are implied from earlier actions.

If in doubt, use the OOC thread to ask whether something is ok to post or not.

Dice rolls:
1. Place at the top a description of the dice pool and modifiers
2. List how the dice rolled in any order
3. Note the number of hits, and also whether a glitch or critical glitch occurred
4. Note where Edge was used, and distinguish the edge dice in some manner
5. Note thresholds in extended tests and reroll as appropriate

Example
CODE

Pistols (3) + Agility (4) + Target Moving (-1) = 6 dice
2, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6
3 hits

That should cover the basics. A few rules makes everything just a bit more consistent and easier to understand.

Pre-flight Checklist: To be posted later on. This will include final items to determine about your character before the run actually begins.

As per the Recruitment thread, I'm posting the 4 bits of info you asked for.

1. Contacts:

The vast majority of Josie's work comes from Oso Cosmas, his fixer, alias employer, and weapons dealer. Oso is a Troll fixer who runs a nice little weapon smuggling/modification ring using the Super Fun Happy Time Cuddle Bear Corporation as his legitimate front. Oso deals in all manner of jobs, but won't give out one that might give a rival arms dealer an edge. If you need a personality to attatch to him, I'd suggest George Foreman.

Josie and Oso speak in code. For example, if the code is in escorts and Josie needs 200 explosive rounds, he'll call Oso and ask for '2 hours with a redhead'. If the code is in pizza delivery, he'll ask for 2 pepparoni.

Another source of work is Bill McNader, one of Seattle's many Johnsons. Bill will deal in any work that doesn't involve outright killing (wetwork). His jobs mainly revolve around theft and property damage. He dislikes violence, but doesn't care about the specific method the runners choose for their jobs. Bill hands out jobs from the most heavily armed Starbucks in all of Seattle. He is honest, but very condescending to runners. A good template for Bill would be Phil Hartman's character from News Radio (Bill McNeil).

2. Daily routine.

Josie spends a good amount of time logged into the library of congress, where he reads books on advanced math, engineering, and home improvement. He runs and does calisthenics in a nearby parking garage, using the incline to boost the efficiency of his workout. He typically sleeps from 4 AM to 11 AM, keeping late hours to help his work. He doesn't frequent bars (he can't drink) except for jobs. From time to time he'll hang out with some of the local Ork gang members, particularly enjoying their street races with modified bikes and autos.

3. Josie lives alone, though the elderly woman next door talks regularly about her grandchildren and calls him 'Michael' (his cover name). He gets a regular visit from a tolerant joygirl from time to time, finding social time with her cheaper than a real girlfriend.

4. Josie has a reputation for a positive work ethic, and would likely know anyone else who falls along the same lines. He might know Chiller, if he has any sort of gang or military background. BlackHat may also be likely, as Josie is taking a slow interest in hacking.[B][/B]

Chiller gets most of his regular paying work from Streets, an entertainment industry promoter. Meg Jones, an ORC activist gives him work too, but the pay isn't so regular. In both cases most of the work is straight up bodyguarding and discrete personal security.

Chiller got his start as a bouncer and special events security, with experience, he got into more discrete and personal services. When the latest international trid star wants to go on a private bender in the upscale vice parlors in Seattle, Streets knows exactly whom to call to keep it safe and discrete. When the Orc Rights Committee marches in protest of the latest metroplex discriminatory regulations, Meg Jones knows whom to ask to arrange the overall security to keep the mainstream activists safe from the Star. Those are the easy jobs.

When someone crosses Streets, Chiller gets to go ask why. If a particular night club is reneging on scheduled dates, Chiller gets to redecorate the stage. Rival act getting too successful, Chiller gets to figure out how to make the latest event turn into a bad experience for the audience. But the darkest jobs have been some of the ones Chiller has done for Meg and ORC. Under the city and in the hearts of humans some of the greatest Horrors lurk.

Chiller lives in the Seattle Underground, and primarily works around downtown Seattle. That's where most of the entertainment money is. When not on a specific job, Chiller hangs at various clubs and facilities where he's a welcome guest, as he's known to pitch in and help out with any trouble. And frankly that happens a lot in the Underground clubs, where the Tuskers and Trogs are more likely to get physical. This makes Chiller very much not a morning person. Besides, it's not that interesting to hang out in a coffin hotel and relax. All of his gear and personal belongings are distributed in various storage units, since there isn't that much storage in the coffins either.

Streets, a chubby male human, alternates between boisterous charm and quiet menace as he handles multiple streams of Simsense productions, Concert tours, Night club contests, and Trid shows. His affected CAS drawl contrasts with the rapidity of his deal making and his amazing ability to switch contexts in managing multiple simultaneous interactions. Chiller is pretty sure that one time while he was itemizing the latest damage caused by the Cocoa Pill Band post production party, that Streets was sweet talking one Simsense Starlet on the Comm, cajoling a Night Club in AR, arguing with a instrument supply vendor, ordering services from a trucking company, and adding up the bill all at the same time.

Meg Jones, a slight elderly human female, has no reason to be such an ardent activist. She doesn't have any goblinized children, no relatives who have gone through bad experiences, and hasn't experienced any of them for herself. Chiller thinks she just decided that "This is not right" and went and did something about it. She's retired after 30 years as a wage slave, and now devotes her time to organizing and educating all the metahumans she can. For all her rhetoric about peaceful demonstrations, progressive activism, positive change, and loving your fellow metahuman, Chiller has done some pretty nasty things at her express request. Not that he probably wouldn't have done it anyway, but it's disconcerting to have someone regarded as a favorite grandma, home made cookies and all, specifically order you to gruesomelly and publically dismember someone. Even if it did turn out to be a vampire.

Legs is a halfer street doc Chiller uses a lot. She volunteers a certain amount of time to the general population in the Underground, and in exchange she gets to profitably operate her grey clinic in the relative safety of the Ork Underground. Chiller has had most of his own cyberware installed by Legs, and he admires her sense of humor. Everytime someone looks at her oddly when she uses a step stool in the clinic she comments, "Yes, I need longer Legs. Maybe I'll borrow yours eh?". Often she can be wearing her "Got Legs?" scrub shirt, which the staff made by taking a "Got Milk?" campaign shirt and crossing out the "Milk" and writing "Legs" in hot Pink.

- I'm open to anyone knowing Chiller from his work around downtown Seattle or the Ork Underground. Josie might be a little tricky if you don't hang out in bars. :)

1. Contacts:
Mr. Scorpion's ties with the Triads in Seattle means that much of his "preferred" work will come through a Triad liaison names "Mr. Tsing." They usually contact each other over the phone, sometimes with lower level Triad members relaying coded messages between them. Tsing has his fair share of connections, both within the Triads and outside, but he wants Mr. Scorpion to prove that he can handle some of the more lucrative assignments they may have.

His other major contact is a woman named Marie Knight, a fixer he calls when he needs extra information, plans for a building, or any other small tidbits of gear he may require. She runs a rather unkempt electronics repair shop, which Mr. Scorpion is always a bit hesitant to go into. Partially because of his preference to not deal with too much technology if he can avoid it, but also because the two of them don't particularly trust each other. Between Scorpion's leaning towards wetwork assignments and his Triad affiliations, Marie would prefer to just keep their arrangements as purely business. She also absolutely hates Mr. Scorpion's cool, aloof attitude.

Her appearance is a untidy as her shop, with reddish brown hair that looks like she just woke up, a protective vest with burn marks and small oil stains on it, and several soldering burns on her hands. At first glance, her appearance doesn't insitll much confidance, especially when she accidentally burns herself again and drops what she's fixing onto the floor, but enough people have come in with commlinks and other devices in pieces and left with things working better than when they first bought them.

2. Daily Routine of your character
Mr. Scorpion spends his free time honing his martial arts skills or relaxing in his condo. When not on an "official assignment" he works as a third party mediator for various low level business deals, just to ensure that contracts are discreetly signed and mutually beneficial to involved parties. This work is completely unrelated to shadowrunning, and highly unlikely to involve his physical talents. It's mostly just a way for him to put on a show that he's a legitimate and ordinary businessman, but also as a way to keep his ears open for more lucrative opportunities.
He typically sleeps from 3am to 8 or 9am, staying out late at fancy restaurants and social clubs where he deals with various contacts, both ordinary and those affiliated with his "real" contacts above.

3. Where your character lives
Mr. Scorpion lives in a rather nice condo in downtown Seattle. Clean air, real food, and security personnel keeping the building safe yet don't pry into tenants' privacy. Most of the other residents in the building are in similar lines of (legitimate) work, serving as consultants or middle to upper management. Most of the time, people are rarely in their homes as they spend most of the day either at offices or attending social gatherings.
He doesn't own a car, but taxis frequent the building giving him easy (and fairly discreet) access to wherever he needs to go. A few didicated shuttle services also arrive to take residents to certain hotels and upscale restaurants and clubs.

4. Whether you might know anyone else in the group
It's unlikely that Mr. Scorpion would have worked with anyone in the group in the past, although there might have been some mutual contact between Marie and one of their contacts. If anyone else has Triad contacts, he would be put in touch with them through Tsing, otherwise he'll likely be called on as an additional outside "negotiator" for a job.

I'm jumping the gun a little bit since my character sheet *technically* hasn't been approved yet... but:

1. Name and description of the contact who would call you for a job.
A-in's only real contact with the Shadows is through a hacker called Open Casket. Open Casket maintains a blog node pertaining to (alleged) Shadow activities - especially those that have some degree of public awareness. He is somewhat paranoid, and tends to create conspiricy theories a lot, but over the last year A-in has managed to earn a bit of respect on his node by contributing his knowledge of some of the stranger Matrix phemonena. He has begun droping hints with Open Casket that he is looking to put his matrix abilities to use to make some money, and is hoping Open Casket will let him know if any of his Shadow connections need skills like his.

2. Daily routine of your character, what they do, where they go, hours when they're awake, etc.
A-in usually gets home around 2-3 am. Before calling it a night he usually attempts to compile, register, or re-regerster low-force sprites just to keep three on hand. Then he heads to his room and sleeps off any drain. He gets up 11-12ish, and after feeding himself, spends most of the early afternoon online, or hanging out with his (usually unemployed) roommates. Sometime after dinner, he makes plans to head out and do something (unless something really interesting is happening online). A lot of the time its his roommates that drag him out of the house and out to a bar or a club or something. He prefers VR or ARE-themed clubs, and has even gotten a few places to start playing some of his music.

3. Where your character lives, with whom, etc. Be creative here, I don't mind.
A-in shares a small 3 bedroom apartment in one of the lower-end parts of Seattle with two other people (a little older than he). One of them, Brandon Fornel, is an aspiring artist, with a knack for inks and paints. The other, a japanese girl named Aiko Hara, is an aspiring vocalist - who A-in has developed a bit of a crush on. They know A-in as "Andrew Insley" but call him by his "nickname" A-in. The apartment is technically in Brandon's name, but both A-in and Aiko pay him for their share.

The three of them are all creative, artistic people - the apartment is always decorated with interesting art or filled with music (real or virtual). His roommates also tend to have a good number of friends over, which, although not very good for Shadowrunners, suits A-in just fine. Some of their friends have mild BTL addictions, which he has dabbled in a little bit. He is very interested in the technology, and has even experimented with threading peaked simsense signals himself (kind of like a party-trick).

4. Whether you might know anyone else in the group, discuss as needed with other characters.
Working backwards. I don't think I would have a lot in common with Mr. Scorpion, at all. I would be surprised if he had befriended Chiller, since they don't seem to have a whole lot in common - but could possibly be connected to him loosely through A-in's interest in music and clubs. WHile he tends to frequent (and occationally perform in) AR-themed clubs, A-in occationally goes with his roommates to other rock, punk, or techno clubs - especially to see Akio perform. I don't think it would be a professional relationship, but its entirely possible that Chiller was working the doors (or the back rooms) on of those nights, and that A-in has crossed his path, however briefly. I also don't think A-in would have much of a history with Josie since he doesn't have much of a gang or military background - and wouldn't be of much use or interest to someone learning the basics of hacking.

-----
BTW, Wolf, lemme know if I need to adjust any of those things (most of which wern't in my background anywhere).

EDIT: Edited based on a small change. Rather than avoiding BTLs now, he's dabbled.

Argh, firefox crashed and ate my post. Anyway, here it is again. Nvwati has had a sex change so it's not a total dude thing.

1. Contact

When it comes to getting work, Nvwati primary gets her jobs through a fixer called Jonny T of just JT. She's known him off and on for a year or so and she's gotten any number of patchup jobs from him, though those were more favors than real jobs. Physically, he's an overweight African-UCASian that favors sports aparel with vibrant colors. When asked, he readily admits he doesn't care about any of the teams whose gear he wears, he just likes the colors. He speaks very quickly and uses the word "muthadreka" more than would be normally considered polite.

[ Spoiler ]

2. Daily Routine

A typical day for Nvwati starts around 1 PM when she rises. She spends a few hours browsing medical news, journals, and message boards on the Matrix and generally getting ready before sliding out of her apartment around 3 PM. She generally spends her early evening at the Tacoma Native American Center where she sometimes volunteers to teach a class in traditional medicine. Later in the evening, if she doesn’t get any calls, she generally grabs some takeout and heads back to her apartment by 11 PM. She also dispenses cheap minor medical care to several of the TNAC regulars.

If she does get a call, she’s usually off to patch up someone who has a good reason for not visiting a hospital.

3. Lifestyle

Nvwati lives alone in a small apartment in Sumner (Auburn). It’s rundown, but it has a relatively hidden back entrance (with a good lock) that’s well hidden from the street. The nicest thing in the whole apartment is the shower, which she’s had refitted with a reservoir and a top of the line shower head. Aside from that, there is a mattress and a number of books covering the floor and little else. She rarely eats in, and her refrigerator is given over to temperature sensitive medical supplies when she has them.

4. Past Encounters

Nvwati would possibly have met anyone active in Native American policlubs or the like in Auburn or Tacoma in addition to the dozens of people she has patched up over the years. She’s never been too picky about who she sews up, though she makes it clear that no one had better come asking her about it.

Patrick Shamus O'Maley (or one of his numerous alternate identities)

1. Name and description of the contact who would call you for a job.
In the small army of contacts Patrick has, only three usually provide him with field work (since he tends to act more like a seller, or a fence).

Miron is a young fixer, probably from slavic origins, that Patrick met thru his brother a few years ago. A street level fixer, he is usualy the man Patrick goes when he needs extra cred, an impossible to find object or to fence goods. Being both business man before anything else, they have kept their relationship very detached, yet professional.

Then, there is Lt. Garry Porter, from the metroplexe guard. A rather low level, disenchanted army officer with rather crooked morals, he has supplied Patrick with a few jobs in the past... which mostly consisted of either smuggling drugs within Fort Lewis, or fencing UCAS army goods on the market.

There is also Jezebel, an elf from arabic origins who runs a small nightclub. Patrick (well, he was using a different name back then) met her while attending night classes in accounting. Ever since then, they have been rather good friends.

2. Daily routine of your character, what they do, where they go, hours when they're awake, etc.
There isn't really such a thing as a daily routine for Patrick. Even though he'd probably prefer to sleep until 1pm, he always wakes up around 6:30am, grabbing a cup of coffee (the real deal) and watches the news until his wife wakes up. He then goes to his "office", which is basically a discreet condo on the other side of downtown.

From there, he runs what he calls "his business": which is basically the buying and selling of any goods hot on the market. Guns, BTL, Anti-Tank missles... You name it, ol' Pat can get it for you. And if he can't, then he knows someone who can! He also runs a small accounting and stock tradding business, trying to keep a legal facade for his dealings... of which his loving wife knows nothing...

Depending on the different deals on his agenda, his day can go from acting as negociator for the Russians, selling AK97 to the Triads; to taking the serials off some "used" Colt Manhunters, without forgetting selling novocoke to snobby corporate kids. Patrick will also spend most of his evenings either networking in hip clubs, up scales restaurants... and den of vices.

3. Where your character lives, with whom, etc.
Patrick lives with his new wife,Isabelle, (he's already been "thru" three), in a luxurious condo situated in downtown Seattle. She has no idea what he really does for a living, and doesn't bother asking. A now retired trid starlette, she's happy of being able to keep her lifestyle.

Patrick also keeps a seperate appartement, which he refers to as "his office". It is where he does all his work from, and also uses it a small munition depots when he has too many goods on his hands.... that and the fact that he'd rather bring back joygirls there than at his own place (and snorting novocoke isn't a thing to do in front of his wife)

4. Whether you might know anyone else in the group, discuss as needed with other characters.
As for knowing anyone in the group, I'm open to anything. Patrick isn't just a "face": his dream is to become not just a gunrunner (which is his main occupation) but also a fixer. In that manner, he might have met pretty much anyone... either by selling goods to them, or fencing loot. He's also been on a few jobs where his knack with people was required.

First and foremost, great posts everyone. I enjoy the detail you guys are adding to your characters.

Second, there is now an IC thread, located here. This is where you’ll post your responses to the calls I will be making to your characters here in a bit.

Third, the IC thread has an adventure-beginning “teaser” to get your minds churning. I was doing some scheming over the past few days, and I think this one is going to be fun.

Fourth, please complete the pre-flight checklist below for your character:
- list which gear items and cyberware have wireless enabled and/or on
- list which gear items your character “normally” carries, i.e. 95-99% of the time
- what mode is your commlink usually in? advert-blocking on/off?
- anything else I should know about what your character “usually” does
This is mainly so I can make things run a bit faster. Feel free to correct these assumptions or tell me "I will make sure to carry item X with me" either IC or OOC.

Gear:
Mr. Scorpion's glasses are wirelessly enabled, but he usually leaves them off unless he has a specific need to turn them on. His commlink is either hidden or passive, depending on whether it would draw less attention to be set to passive in the area he's in. Adblock is on, of course.

As for what he carries, since he doesn't have too much he keeps it all on him, with the exception of his passkey, which he only brings if he feels he would be needing it (like say, on a run).

Oh, and PS (in regards to the IC thread):

I checked the calendar thing on my computer, and in 2070 April 12 is a Saturday.

Indeed you are correct. Made the changes in the IC thread. Thanks.

Everyone else
I have two first contact posts done, and I will get to the rest soon. Feel free to post in the IC thread if you are one of the lucky two.

Nvwati runs wireless on her earbuds and glasses, but they're both set up as slaves to her commlink. The commlink is generally running in hidden mode unless she really needs to run it in passive mode. She generally leaves advert blocking off becauses she forgets to turn it on. When she starts getting spammed, she'll flip it on, though. It's also got her better fake SIN encoded on it as well, though she's not broadcasting it unless she has to. Her biomonitor and medkit are both wireless enabled, but they remain off until she switches them on.

She pretty much carries all of her gear with her. For around town and meets she's got on the armored jacket (and the camo is at home).

  • List which gear items and cyberware have wireless enabled and/or on
  • List which gear items your character “normally” carries, i.e. 95-99% of the time
    • Gun - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually in the trunk of his car.
    • Ammo - Wireless enabled and on, but AoD.
    • Glasses - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually carries with him.
    • Earbuds - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually carries with him.
    • Stim-Patches - Not wireless enabled. Usually carries with him for emergencies.
    • Commlink - Wireless enabled, Usually on in hidden mode. Almost always carries with im.
    • Datachips - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually carries with him.
    • Satellite Uplink - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually keeps in car.
    • Simrig - Wireless enabled, but usually off. Usually keeps on him.
    • Nanopaste trodes - Wireless enabled, and usually on (as I can't think of a way to physically turn their wireless on or off. Usually keeps on him.
    • Holoprojector - Wireless enabled. F-ing book doesn't describe this object at all (size, shape?) so I'd like to keep it with me, if its not largantuan, but otherwise it'll be in the car.
    • Clothing - Wireless enabled. Usually on in hidden mode.
    • Car - Wireless enabled, usually on in hidden mode.
    • Kanmushis - Wireless enabled, on in hidden mode. Usually in the car.
    • Fake Sin - on the commlink
    • Artisian tools. Not wirelessly enabled - no wait, screw it. Sure, they're wirelessly enabled too. I havn't really worked out the point to that, but why not? They are not usually on me. They are at home.
    • Credstick - Wirelessly enabled but off. Also, apparantly empty since I can't bring nuyen over from chargen. Would ideally like starting cash to go here (will roll for it below).
    • Cosmetic modifications - Hrrrrrmmmmmmmm. If the hair and nanotatoos CAN be DNI, I'd prefer that. If they're not extensive enough (I doubt they are - since they don't cost essense) they'll have to both be wirelessly enabled, and usually on in hidden mode (since there are no buttons or ports for connecting them to a commlink).
  • What mode is your commlink usually in? advert-blocking on/off?
    • Usually in hidden mode, in higher security areas (where they require you to go passive) he will.
    • I assume his technomancer brain can switch modes like a commlink - in which case, he'll almost always be in hidden mode.
    • Advert-blocking on commlink, super-yes.
    • Advert-blocking on brain?.. Um... I don't think I want to blow a complex form to avoid ads, so no.
  • Anything else I should know about what your character “usually” does
    • Can't think of any.

Chiller Knowing or known by others
- Chiller could know Josie from a couple of Asset Reduction Runs (Property Damage), especially if Josie knows Demolitions, with a possible common link through Oso Cosmas who might act as an arms supplier to the more militant members of the Ork Rights Committee
- Chiller might not know A-in, but I think it is reasonable that A-in can recognize Chiller as a club fixture when we do meet IC. Aiko, or Akio(sp?) could know of Streets through her performance contracts.
- Nvwati could have met Chiller if Legs had referred Chiller to her. Either Chiller or an injured or Drug OD client could have needed Nvwati services on a job when Legs might not have been available. If there is an intersection between Native American Policlubs and the Ork Rights Committee, that's also a possible point of contact.
- Patrick is a gun runner downtown, could easily have met Chiller as a client purchasing arms for the more militant members of the Ork Rights Committee(Though of course he would never admit who the weapons were for,)
- Mr Scorpion... as the old tale of the frog and the scorpion cautions us, Mr Scorpion can't help being himself.

If anyone wants to write in these possibilities, let me know. I'm fine with anyone recognizing or knowing Chiller as he obviously is out and about a lot.

Wireless Modes
- Datajack is wireless on.
- All other cyberware is wireless capable but off. Helps with routine maintenance. I think all the cyberware can be managed through the Datajack DNI. Only the Skillwires(Switching skills), Wired reflexes(On|Off), and Vision Magnification(focus adjustment) have some variable control needed.
- Weapons, wireless capable, but default OFF (Ares Viper and Mossberg are Skinlinked)
- Everything else is default ON

Non Working Mode
- Actioneer Business Clothes
- Defiance EX Shocker
- Extendable Baton
- Biomonitor
- Medkit
- Trauma Patch
- WNG

Light Working Mode (High Class High security zones)
Non Working Mode +
- Stun Baton
- Ares Viper (Fake Concealed Weapon Permit)
- Earbuds
- Hand held Sensor Wand
- Microtranceiver

Commlink - Default Passive, Adverts OFF (Very distracting when watching a night club for threats)

Daily Routine - A common conversational topic for Chiller involves Metahuman politics. So a typical activity is a policlub meeting in the afternoon or early evening at a convenient watering hole.

Starting Money = 3D6 X 50
5, 2, 1 = 8 X 50 = 400 (Woo hoo!)

QUOTE (DireRadiant)
Chiller might not know A-in, but I think it is reasonable that A-in can recognize Chiller as a club fixture when we do meet IC. Aiko, or Akio(sp?) could know of Streets through her performance contracts.

It should be Aiko... but now I see I spelled it both ways. My bad.

I'd be happy with going with A-in recognising Chiller as a club fixture. I would say that Chiller might even recognise A-in from a couple of shows - since when he goes out he tends to make himself stand out (colored hair, color-changing clothes, glow-in-the-dark nanopaste trode designs, all kinds of AR stuff). Of course, when we meet again at the meet, A-in will probably look a lot more subdued and normal - but I'll leave it up to you. We certainly wouldn't know about each other as Shadowrunners, but I like the idea of Chiller thinking to himself, where do I know that kid from? Oh! That's right. He had neon green hair last week, but I think he was at the Overload show.... and now he's Shadowrunning... great..

Probably shouldn't have Aiko have too many connections though - since I didn't pay for my roommates as contacts, nor for their contacts. I didn't want them to be connected to the Shadows (yet)... but her knowing about Streets seems fine.

    • Can't think of any.

Okay, I thought of one. I would also like to start with (if this is okay with Wolf), most of my files encrypted and data-bombed at rating 2. (Since with 9 dice on the thread & soak tests I could buy enough successes to do this, whenever necessary).

The databombs wouldn't be set to destroy anything (just to damage the offending icon), and launch the commlink/device into alert-mode.

Well, I don't really care one way or the other. Anyone who has been shot up on a run (or just shot up and is SINless) could have met Nvwati.

Info to add to everything from here.

CODE
The following information is provided for Seattle, King County, Washington (longitude W122.3, latitude N47.6):

       Saturday
12 April 2070         Pacific Daylight Time

                        SUN
       Begin civil twilight       5:53 a.m.
       Sunrise                    6:25 a.m.
       Sun transit                1:10 p.m.
       Sunset                     7:56 p.m.
       End civil twilight         8:28 p.m.

                        MOON

       Moon transit               2:50 p.m.
       Moonset                   10:20 p.m.
Moonrise                   8:13 a.m. on following day

Given that daylight savings time is still observed in 2070, this is accurate. Otherwise... subtract an hour from everything.

- list which gear items and cyberware have wireless enabled and/or on
Josie's commlink is usually subscribed to his firearms, his shock gloves, subvocal microphone, goggles, headphones, gps, and medkit, as well as his smartgun link and cybereyes. Naturally his commlink is under his fake SIN.

- list which gear items your character “normally” carries, i.e. 95-99% of the time
If Josie is out and about, he will usually have his armored jacket, Fichetti 500 with one clip of regular ammo in a concealable holster, certified credstick with minimal funds on it, and his leatherman. He will also carry his headphones and goggles, but won't always be wearing them. His primary form of transportation is his Suzuki Mirage.

- what mode is your commlink usually in? advert-blocking on/off?
Josie's commlink is usually in passive mode.

- anything else I should know about what your character “usually” does
Josie is fastidious about checking his ammo before loading it into a clip, checking each round for defects.

I forgot to do starting cash:

CODE
4d6 (+7 from leftover cash at character creation) x500

2, 3, 4, 6 = 15 (+7) = 22 x 500 = 11000 Y

Fun fun fun.

Starting cash: 600 :nuyen:
CODE
3d6x50
1, 6, 5 = 12 x 50 = 600

Summoning a force 3 spirit of man:
CODE
Magic (5) + Summoning (4) + Specialization (2) = 11 dice
Rolls: 6 6 6 3 3 2 2 1 4 6 3
Hits: 4

Resist drain:
CODE
Logic (5) + Willpower (4) = 9 dice
Rolls: 4 1 6 4 2 4 4 5 1
Hits: 2

Odds are, that's a little drain, so she'll try to clear out the effects with some mild stims from her medkit.
CODE
Logic (5) + First Aid (5) + Medkit (6) - Conditions: Average (Indoors) (1) - Awakened (2) = 13 dice (t: 2)
Rolls: 6 6 6 3 2 6 5 2 6 1 1 4 1
Hits: 6

Wow, good stims. Anyway, that probably takes care of everything in terms of drain.

I assumed it worked. If it didn't, I'll just have to try again ;)

Good reminder, definitely do starting cash if you haven't already.

All starting posts for everyone are in, so please post in the IC thread with what your character would do after that. Take them up to the point where they arrive at Matchsticks, where I will have you do a perception test both outside and inside. I will also describe the club once for everyone, with spoiler tags for special info.

Chiller and Josie
Since it was tough to figure out how to get you on this job, I'm going to say that you and Josie are acquaintances, at least to the point where Josie would feel ok recruiting you for a run.

BlackHat
DataBomb to your heart's content. I will assume that you would've had no problem threading it for one-time use.

You don't need to put in the red datetime stamp if you don't change the location (if you do, put that in so I know where you're at!) Any questions, of course lay them down in here.

Either someone doesn't like us Tuskers, or none of our fixers know any other fixers, or something.

Psst, Josie, it's the "Man" keeping the Tusker down I tell ya!

Or it involves straight up wet work... We shall see.

Streets would in addition to simple street muscle like Chiller would no doubt have connections to almost any criminal faction involved in the entertainment industry and consequently could be referred out as part of a deal Streets is involved in with another fixer.

Compiling a Rating 3 Fault Sprite [with Optional CF of Medic]
CODE

Compiling Dice Pool: Tasking (4) + Resonance (5) (+2 Hot Sim?)
Dice:  [6] [6] [5] [2] [1] [5] [3] [1] [3] ( [2] [2] )
Hits: 4   Ones: 2

I'm not acutally sure if compiling counts as a "Matrix test" or not.
I guess it didn't matter anyway - but I'd still like to know for later reference.

CODE

Fading Dice Pool: Willpower (4) + Resonance (5)
Dice:   [4] [3] [3] [6] [4] [5] [2] [5] [1]
Hits: 3   Ones: 1

I'm going to assume it worked, to expedite the IC thread, since I think even if it got all hits on that test, it would still owe me 1 task, but I could have taken some drain, so I'll wait for the results on that to proceed.

A-In
[ Spoiler ]

Assuming you're in Full VR, yes you get a +2 to all Matrix tests. This would normally not be an issue, so you were right to include it.

DireRadiant

LOL... "keeping the Tusker down"; The GM has his reasons for arranging the meet as he did.
