Hello everyone
I humbly request the knowledgeable members to help me clarify some matters regarding vehicle customization in rigger3: p. 125, Engine customization. In design specifications, what does the line 'one full level is possible in each category' mean? I suspect it is (and nothing else than) that I can always raise speed by at least 30, acc by at least 2 etc. But some others around me say it means that I can raise each 'attribute' only *once*, and if 30 spd is above max*1.75, I must lower it accordingly. In other words, if I have max spd 50, the latter version would let me raise it once, by 25, or max spd 400 could be raised by 30 and that's that. (whereas in the latter case if things were how I think they are it would theoretically be possible to cram in ten levels - (400*0.75)/30=10 - to get a new speed of 700. Ack.) p. 134, Active thermal masking. I simply cannae wrap my mind around the design cost. What would it account to if I had a power plant with, say, a 1000 base dp? Does it matter how many levels the vehicle being masked has in engine customization, or just whether it's there or not? +1: we usually do the actual run in a kinda in-your-face 'shock and awe' style, bustig in in battle armor with lots of bang and flash and smoke and nonlethally (gel, etc) gunning our way to the objective, with the occasional bit of getaway driving at the end before they can get their wits together. (partly beacuse this way the rigger gets his fun too, vehicle combat ahoy). Since getting select sound filter cw for the entire on-site team seems possible, we've been wondering if it would be possible to 'run to a soundtrack', meaning that the decker would hack some blaring music into the target building's PA system, partly deafening and 'shockandaweing' the corpsec, masking our sounds somewhat, while we could just filter it out altogether (having the exact '.wav' or whatever to it beforehand in our cyberears via datajack or sg) All in all, they can't hear a thing, hopefully get confused, while we get to shoot them to Rage against the machine or complete (as in no music) silence if needed. Thoughts? How many levels of sound filtering would this need? Thanks in advance |

Nope, reguardless of the 1.5, you can raise each by one (aka speed by 30, acc by 2 and load by body*50kg)
So if your ____ has a max speed of 35, you can still raise it to 65. Just note with an engine THAT tweaked out you would have a serious risk of it blowing up almost immedently. Also note that the numbers for doing it during initial design, and the custom process are different. For active thermal, if ou look it says "Max Rating/improvment: +2 signature or engine customization level (whichever is lower). Ok, lets say your modding out a Americar (¥20,000 nice round number) You want to give it some more go, so you get 2 levels of engine customization. Thats ¥1,000 per level (aka 5% of base cost). The first level of ATM would run you ¥2,000, and the second an addational ¥2,250. |
