Since this one has been released to the public, I figured we should get a topic up...

Reading through the adventure... are the Souix runner team implied to be polyamorous lesbians, or am I misunderstanding something?

If we came out and answered that, wouldn't it kind of defeat the point of implying anything?

I'm curious Nick--which section led to your query?

Okay. This is my first post to these forums. I have checked the forums for couple of months, but haven't seen any reason to write here before this. Very much spoilers, so next is only for GMs.
So. My problem ain't so difficult to handle, but it's more like funny as hell. My players all have really low charisma (2), except the face/adept with 5, and that led (with very bad luck with dices) to really low scores in Legwork section. Not to mention how heavy weapon specialist troll called to his old buddy in Ares (and only contact in whole group in Ares) to ask about has she heard anything about guy called Belenkiy. Of course the roll was critical glitch... I think somebody just had tapped her commlink. :D Hilarious. Well, the fun had just started. They asked about everything in Belenkiy's room from their contacts, but not about The Feather. Also they just wanted to ask from Ramses, where he thought Belenkiy was and they didn't say anything back to Ramses, when he tried to question them (all of them are really D&D players, so their tactic with tough looking dwarf was to buy him as many beers as he wanted to drink and hope he would speak something accidentally when drunk - after two hours, very much talk, nothing useful). Now they started to get desperate and they didn't even now the name "the Black Cats" before Void called them (of course, they hadn't heard about Void or Hammerjack before). They bought the info from him and believed every word Void said to them. (Yes, they did ask from their contacts about Void, but with no "good" results.) We played for 4½ hours and we had to stop playing (with lots of excuses) at the situation, where they just had argued (all 5 players) for last half an hour, about what they should do now. All of them think that Falcone is waiting them back with group of Knight Errants, armed to teeth, to kill or capture them when they come back with or without Belenkiy. Although they know that Falcone and Tammy should be very reliable, by old facts, they still more likely to believe some mysterious guy in Matrix than their new fixer and Mr. Johnson. They are also thinking to blow up the DIY Storage and Lodging so they don't have to deal with this hole situation (very smart, huh?). And all this time they argued, I just watched, said nothing, smiled as mad man and was very pleased to my players. I always had to drag to them from one place to next and it felt to me like they weren't really in the game. Now, they are hooked to game and don't know how get off. I think. We should play end of this mission at next tuesday, and hopefully they don't get themselves killed that time... and I'm pretty sure I have to send them little help (from their contacts) to preserve that from happening. And to the end quote from one of my players: "Somebody is screwing someone, but who is and whom? Except somebody is always screwing us.." I think that counts to nearly 99% of all the runs. |

Nice one, Deva.
And strangely similar to what I experienced when I first GMed SRM02-02. |

My players couldn't decide what was going on, so they just approached everything very cautiously, and I felt like they were kind of disappointed when everything went without a hitch.
Also: Polyamorous lesbians? What the heck? I didn't get that vibe at all. |
