Runs made from songs, I've seen books and movies but songs? Options

I've been listening to some songs on my MP3 player lately, and been thinking about how they would make interesting runs. So I've decided to post about it!

I think that songs would make an interesting adaptation to runs because they aren't as obvious as adaptations from movies or books, (though I guess they could be). They are also usually short enough to provide an outline of a run, and not have to detail out every part. So, as I get around to it, I'll post runs and then the lyrics to the song in this thread, others are welcome to join in also if you get bored or something.

Song: The Becoming - Nine Inch Nails

Run:

Background:
The Barrens have, over the past few months, gotten a somewhat unlikely hero. A reclusive troll sized full borg whose gotten the nick name of "tin man" has made his home in the shadows of the dirtiest parts of redmond. He has on several occasions stopped corps and runners alike from killing the barren denizens and destroying the few remaining usable shelters in his neigborhood. This has gotten him some amount of street cred with the locals, who'll try to stick up for him when possible. Even though he does inspire no small amount of fear because of his size and inhuman nature. Recently though, he's gone missing.

The Run:
As much as the residents fear him, they also want him there to protect them. Scraping together some cash, they'll contact the runners (through a fixer or the red hot nukes) to try and find the tinman. This would probably be a low paying job, but with high possible karma rewards (you're trying to do a good deed after all).

What really happened(GM only):
The Tinman was tazed and abducted by a corp whom he recently foiled, they are afraid to kill him outright as it may make him into a martyr, so they're going to try and ruin his heroic reputation and let the barrens kill him. Since he's so close to the essence line, they've installed a few more parts to push him over the line (0 essence or negative). About a week after the runners are hired (if he isn't found before hand), the tinman will showup again in the barrens.

Complications:
No matter where the tinman is found, it'll be after the cybersurgery. This is where the cyber psychosis starts to kick in. As the tinman starts his fall into madness he'll become less and less heroic, and more psychopathic, schizophrenic and paranoid. He'll start viewing everything as just an object. Only looking at people in terms of motion, velocity, threat level. The schizophenia partially a bad connection which creates static noise in his cyber ears, but when he starts interpreting what the static is saying is where the mental issues come in. The Paranoia creeps in as he starts repeating a mantra "it won't give up it wants me dead, goddamn this noise inside my head"

End Game:
The End goal of this run is to protect the denizens of the barrens from their hero as he succumbs to his corp inflicted cyber psychosis. If the runners strike a fatal blow to the tinman (out of mercy or in combat) he'll regain sanity long enough for him to die in the arms of his friend Annie. You can quote the "hiding backwards inside of me I feel so unafraid Annie, hold a little tighter I might just slip away" line.

Using songs for inspiration is cool. Man, I got something swirling around in my head when I think of "Happy Birthday" from Flip Syde.
Coming up next: "Sorry" from Madonna made into a run. I wonder what could be created out of this...
A bunch of hot babes(including a 200 year old one which has been revived and through bioware-technology now looks like 40) kidnap sex-hungry young man with their van and eat them. Because they are ghouls. Period!

Song - White bird - It's a Beautiful Day
Run:

Background: Azatlan has made some bold moves in the past few weeks on the corporate court further increasing it's economic strangle hold on the world. Strangely the normal opposition from the other mega's has been non existant.

Run:
The runners are approached on a rainy winter day in the usual means (fixer etc) by a man of untold years and covered in mayan tatoos. He seems crazy, keeps repeating that "white bird must fly, or she will die". He will ask the runners to retrieve a white bird held captive in a remote area of azatlan. The man will front some money but the lure would be the large cage made of "pure gold" that houses the bird, which the runners are more than welcome to keep if they bring the bird to him, the bird must remain in the cage until he can see it. Transportation subject to negotiation, ranging from fully paid, to "get there yerself". Small upfront payment, potentially large backend payment, medium to large karma rewards.

Legwork:
Some successful searching on magical channels will reveal that there is a rumor about a white bird who's life is some how linked to the fate of the world.

Whats Really Happening:
The bird's life is linked to the end of the world, when the bird dies, the world dies. Being in its magical gold (and oricalcum) cage, it can't fly and is slowly dying because it is not free. Azatlan has been using this bird as a big barganing chip on the counsel, because they're the only ones brave enough to toy with ending the world. The man who hired the runners is what could be considered to be the birds true keeper, he may actually be several thousand years old. And the bird has been alive since the beginning of known time, or atleast since the crest from the 4th to the 5th age (for those of you who're counting).

End game:
This is a pretty simple extraction run. If the runners find out all the details of what the bird is, (and it's world ending properties). Then they could use it to force more pay from the johnson (for less karma reward).

When the bird is freed, some strange world happenings occur, the winds slow, thunder and lightning strikes from the huge clouds that have manifested, and a joyous bird song can be heard through out the world. The man will smile at the sound of the song and leave the runners with the cage.

If the bird is freed before the man sees it, azatlan will capture it again and the man will ask them to try again.

If the bird dies some how, major earthquakes occur the world over on major fault lines, and a report about how the world is potentially slowing to a stop will be broadcast. Carry on citizen!

All of the scenarios in the runs provided in NAN 1 & 2 are named after bands or songs. Some random trivia for ya :)

It was pretty ridiculous. Although I've gotta admit, when I suddenly realized we were on a planet with sentient elephants, relics, a pyramid, and a trashed obelisk a little over a klick and a half away, I knew we had it made.
