Forgive, please, for starting this topic (and I don't know where else to put it), but I've been seriously out of touch for most of the past month, and coming back to find not only closure but deletion of all threads was something of a surprise. I'm guessing that something seriously significant must have happened recently, in the past week. (The weeks before that seemed to be going reasonably well - or at least no different than usually ...?) Besides Bull's post I have seen nothing else about this.
Could someone please explain in slightly more detail what happened? In email or pm, if not acceptable on-board? If this thread is out of order, please delete or close as is felt appropriate. |

Short of it: A pretty massive flamewar between regular members and a Bulldrek infiltrator resulted in SubRosa being banned. I think this sparked hate mail to an admin. The inability of noisy posters to contain themselves over it caused the closing of many threads, which escalated the situation until they decided to close the Lounge. I have heard whispers that the missing threads are locked in a hidden forum and might be reviewed for content and then visible somehow. They originally wanted the flamewar to stop and not carry over to other forums (like Bulldrek or these ones). |

You must've been reading a different thread than I did. You see, Talia, from my POV, SubRosa's "Coming Out" thread started to discuss more and more explicit things, and while the moderators had constantly warned that there was a line that shouldn't be crossed - considering that DSF is a website for all ages, I don't blame them for drawing a line - the posters in the thread seemed to disregard that line on various occassions. Some people got banned, some hatemail was written, some admins and moderators got tired and hey presto, no more Lounge. :)
I second that sentiment, Adam. I really don't see how Bulldrek factors into this, or how he could be an "infiltrator." At all. Perhaps being a Bulldrek member makes you an infiltrator pro forma. That means that I'm an infiltrator, too. |

Kanada, I don't suppose you would have gone to the trouble to learn that that supposed 'Bulldrek Infiltrator' was a regular poster on DSF loooooooooong before he went over to bulldrek?
I thought not. |

the "Infiltrator" had a sig which said he had signed up 2/02 which means he was registered here before the last incarnation of the site, BUT he had not been a regular poster here. To ask the obvious question of people who use buldrek often, is crazy elf a regular there?

Since you seem to be unaware of the facts. Crazy Elf was a regular on DRF/DSF for at least a year before he came to Bulldrek, he came to us only after he was banned for the first time from DRF.

Thank you, all, for the information. It's appreciated. I'll just hope this hasn't reopened anything here - in any direction.

Nope, no problem Talia. Since your question has been answered to your satisfaction, I'm going to close this thread.
