Critter Conversion Help Requested, Restricted for Gang of Rebels

For the rest of you: [ Spoiler ] I'm planning on have Old Bones, the leader of the New Orleans Zobop - a grand zombie - make an appearance in my game (if the PC's get that far). I have stats for a Grand Zombie from MitS (SR3) and a little information from Target: Smuggler's Havens. Here's my question: What do I do with spirit energy? In SR3 it augmented the force of the free spirit. I was thinking that it would be similar to edge but since free spirits don't have their own karma how do I represent the "experience" of the free spirit? Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and just in case the players are planning on peaking, please put your response in spoiler tags.
