Hey all,
Newbie runner here. Haven't played it yet, but it looks awesome.
Question:
How much nuyen does the average corporate wageslave make in a year?
How much nuyen does the average citizen (not in a AAA corp) with a SIN make in a year?
How much nuyen does the average SIN'less worker make in a year?

Thanks

Go by lifestyle. Figure that the average working joe is earning 12 months of their lifestyle a year and little else, since lifestyle is meant to cover pretty much everything the average working joe gets.
So, for corp wageslave or citizen it'd be low to medium lifestyle. For a SIN'less I'd assume they're generally low.

I think that determining that can greatly set the tone for your campaign. If the average SINless is living a low lifestyle, things aren't really that bad. If they're living a squatter lifestyle, then it's going to be a pretty awful world. It all depends on how your GM views the prevalence of SINs. It would be hard to have a legal job without a SS number these days, or a bank account, or a driver's license or state ID. Right, straying off topic, but I would definitely place the majority of SINners as living low lifestyles. Corp enclaves would probably be more middle level lifestyle prevalent.

The location books usually provide stats for average income (as well as population etc...). If I recall correctly, the average income for Seattle is listed as 25 000 nuyen.

In all honesty, it would depend on their position in the company, and the value the company put on that position.
I would figure pay based on life stlye +20% for other expenses.
Actual pay will depend on somewhat on cost of living for the area as well.
For Subsidiaries and branch executives I would say a medium to high lifestyle.
For The typical paper pusher, mail room attendant, line worker grunt a Low to medium life style will fit.
For Hacker Security, Wage Mages, think tank people, ect., honestly probably only a Medium Lifestyle, with benefits that push their pay towards the high end.

I would say from Squatter to medium depending on the area that they live.
A sinless living nearby a rich neighborhood, or working for a underground agency could make enough to support a medium lifestyle.

Normally, I would say most SINless barely squeak by on a Low lifestyle, with a roommate of some type, and have been at the squatter level before and could soon be again.

Thanks

Hope I helped.

Alright, I'll take a swing at this.

Lets go with the SINless first, being the lowest income. About 30% of the Sinless live Street lifestyles, about 40% live Squatter Lifestyles, and about 30% live Low Lifestyles. At least thats those that don't have a Fake SIN and/or are a Shadowrunner. So the average SINless person makes about 9600 :nuyen: a year. I'd say that the SINless people make up about 50% of the worlds population, with a huge majority of the average income being influenced by the "upper class" SINless.

Now for the Average Citizen with a SIN that isn't a Corps. Lets asume that about 60% have Low lifestyles, while around 45% have Medium lifestyles with about 5% having the High Lifestyle. That set the average income at about 48000 :nuyen: per year. This is probably around 15% of the world population.

And now the average Wageslave sellout. Lets go with about 20% in Low Lifestyles, 70% in Middle lifestyles, and 10% in High lifestyles. We get about 59000 :nuyen: per year for the average wageslave. These faceless suckers are probably about 35% of the World Population.

Finally, lets have a go at the world average just for shits and giggles. With the SINless at 50%, the norms at 15%, and the wageslaves at 35%; the world average is 32000 :nuyen: :spin:

While this might not seem so bad, These "statistics" set the Homeless population of the world at about 35%. As far as I know, that is terrible. That would be about 2.3 Billion homeless if we went by our current population. This is likely a bit less since the world population was decimated by VITAS. I'm unsure as to the the exact number.... and it doesn't matter. :rotate: :wobble: :spin:
