This will serve as the administrative thread for the Dumpshock Forums campaign: Reign of Shadows. I have six of seven character slots filled, although I am willing to entertain the option of new characters entering the story arc as other characters die or opt out of the campaign.
The game will be run utilizing all 3rd Edition rules as well as most optional rules. Again, my house rules can be found here. The game date is January 5th, 2063. Mechanics wise, I prefer to roll dice for all success tests but if the players wish to handle things cinematically that's fine with me. Please detail all tests in an OOC post with skill and pool dice used, as well as any karma pool allocated for rerolls. We'll be on the honor system here, as I trust any good player to realize that if you cheat, you're only cheating yourself and your fellow players. Also, if it should ever come up that you fell I'm handling a game mechanic wrong or messed up a rules call, make an OOC post citing the incident as well as your reasoning including page number and sourcebook you're referencing. I'll explain my reasoning and we'll discuss it. If it turns out that I made a mistake, I'll adjust accordingly. There's no penalty for questioning the GM when he is wrong. If you question the GM when he is right, prepare to reap the ridicule. Keep me honest, it makes for a better game. When posting in the IC thread, please turn off your signature as it tends to interrupt the flow of events. To contact me, you can either use email: grendel@pride.veldt.org, or post to this topic, or send a private message. I check the Forums daily and responses should come quickly. Questions? Comments? Let the games begin! |

Ixnay on the pretenda-porn, if you don't mind. I'd like to keep my playboy and my dumpshock seperate. I'm going to assume that there was nothing adverse going on during surveillience, but if there was, then please roll as you see fit. |

The only thing I have to say is that this is a PG-13 forum when it comes to the topics of sex and sexuality. We're R for violence, though. Imagine that.
I need a perception check from White. |

I am guessing that PG-13 is an american way of rating films for sex/violence etc... but I have no idea what PG-13 is... anyone care to explain??

PG 13 denotes that parents must be present for kids of the age 13 and under, as there could be some questionable material...

There is alwasys something special about writing the first post for a good charecter! I spent weeks on mine, because I had been building it before the possibility of this run came up!

Look if my "porn" talking is going to be a problem then our GM needed to tell me not to play a former prostitute as a character! This is a role-playing game and I'm trying to role play my character. And in case you didn't notice, I did make it less graphic then I could've! But with that said, I will try to take your requests into consideration when I play Satu.

Chance reminded me of something, I forgot to say in my IC post that my charecter was going to put his armor on underneath the suit.... I don't honestly think it will be needed on this meet but just wanted to clarify that he would be wearing it as a matter of routine. Is that ok Grendel?

That's fine, Silverspur_2020, duly noted.
It's been a policy of mine not to dictate the kinds of characters my players can or cannot play. I'll check the numbers and make sure everyone is on the same page of music, but I find it's better to let players handle the responsibility of the unique quirks of their characters. In this specific instance I wanted to issue a general warning because it was the graphic sexuality of a certain thread which got the entire lounge closed down, and I don't want to see that happen here. Satu, or any other character for that matter, can engage in whatever self or mutual gratification she wants to, just employ that ever useful "fade to black" technique, and let the rest of us use our imaginations. :vegm: |

Hey, I decked mine out, and... He's a rigger, so, pah.
Plus, better signature than the other one listed in NSRCG, low handling, high speed, all for a good cost. What can we say? ;p |

8) The limo service is for when he's in his businessman's guise. Jon wouldn't lower himself to actually driving one of them... :rotfl:

All right, it seems like everyone is in the vicinity of the meet, so I moved ahead with our little story. Also, remember that all vehicle windows in Shadowrun are tinted to prevent line of sight for the random magic user.
Looks like everyone scored well on their perception checks, those who were at least two hours early noticed a Volkswagon Superkombi III van pull into the garage and park on the second level with a view of the northwest corner on the third level. Just down the ramp if you want to think of it that way. No one gets out of the vehicle. Apart from that, nothing about the building is suspicious. |
