Moving Target Group: Members Posts: 133 Joined: 8-September 05 Member No.: 7,718	For those GMs who have read "Runner Havens": [ Spoiler ] Has anyone got any interesting ideas for the sorts of missions that "the eXchange" in Seattle would send it's members on? I was thinking fairly harmless and frequently non-senseical things. Also, I was thinking of having the application display a "point value" that fluxuated based o the amount of information they provided to the network, and completeing the requested actions. Once in a while, the players will have a "lucky break" go thier way, and the points will go down. Heck, sometimes the points may decrease for no aparent reason. Here are some of my ideas: Assigned to go to a specific place 10 minutes away, and break into a car and start the engine, then walk away. (300 Pts) Convince a local hot-dog vendor to close early today. (200 pts) Go buy a Mirror and carry it to specific street-corner set it down facing a particular direction at a particular time. (100 pts) Upload an unknown piece of software into a very low-security advertising node in the middle of a bus shopping mall. (200 pts) Walk up to a particular person on the street and say: "Bubbles" as menacingly as possible. (50 pts) Summon a watcher spirit and send it to a nearby bar to annoy a particular patron. (200 pts) Tie a piece of wire between two pipes at ankle-level in an alley. (100 pts) Get up from your meal in a restaurant, go into the bathroom and set off a fire alarm. (200 pts) Go to a hardware store and take a series of photographs of various objects (25 pts) Take a sudden detour in your car. When you do you noice that there are 10 other cars just like yours driving down the same street. (100 pts.)

You get the idea.

Thanks. That is really cool and will definatly be used (and actually fits with my current campaign really well).

Was it in some earlier book, then?

I like The Exchange too. (So what if it's a blatant tip of the hat to Global Frequency!) The great thing for me is that the PCs in my campaign (which bridges 3rd Ed and 4th Ed timelines but using 4th Ed rules) were heavily involved in running something called The Community which was so similar it might as well be the proto-Exchange. The other day I was able to show them this bit about the Exchange and say 'Guys! This is you guys! Has to be!' so now they will be adding red Xs to the Community's commlinks.

I was already going to include it in my game because of everyone being online and wireless. I was also going to include some paranoia in with it to make it more mysterious.

I actually created the Global Frequency on my SR campaign. Had one of the players get recruited without the rest of the team knowing (gaming session with just us) and then it was fun to use that in the middle of one of the games. They were sitting at a bar watching a suspect when his 'special' phone rings. ;P
