hm, about the balance tail, can it be controlled with DNI? I'm trying to make some kind of scorpion guy, with a balance tail and injector at the end of it :P

Not in the standard model. Something that more resembles an independant cyberarm in cost may fit what you're looking for. |

Although, if you wanted to, you could make the injector controlled by DNI, so you had the choice between stabbing them and poisoning them. Cool idea though.

I don't know where you're tailbone is... but mine is above said region... ;) I do kinda like the idea of a detachable tail, only thing is... How much weight can the tail take before it snaps it's locking mechanisme... seeing as you can't easily see your rump (well not normally) you can't have something that's too complex of a lock unless it's a socket/DNI lock interface... |

I think this is a great idea, but I'm sure that lower part of the spine would have to be rebuilt to make it something you could actually swing from. Essentially, you'd need a cyber-butt. :) I still think the best idea is to give it a pilot rating and then you could control it by DNI. You'd just tell it "grab that" and it would. With a pilot, it will also use its own initiative so you could more or less trust it just to reach out and grab whatever it could should you fall or leap out of a tree, etc. I like the idea of a "stinger" but given the paucity of things to hang from in the modern urban landscape, you'd be better off with some sort of grappling gun, traction claw. Heck - in a world where you can get gecko gloves which adhere at will, it could probably have some sort of unfolding "suction cup" like a flat umbrella, that would form a solid anchor on any flat surface. That would allow you to "stand" on any wall that was vertical or less or hang from ceilings. Cyberarms indeed! Shadowrun's barely touched the surface of what could be done with this sort of technology. |
