I was just wondering if anyone could point me towards short fiction pieces whose only purpose is to bring out the feel of SR, whether it's from a runner's POV or a wageslave's.

Check out a few of the fiction contests. Or, failing that, do a Forum Search for the word "fiction." Lots of people write lots of kinds of stories. Check 'em out, and find one like what you're looking for -- it's free, and you'll find one, somewhere.
