Is there anyway for me to make it so an individual user's posts don't show up in a discussion?

Nothing so far as I can see. Besides, if anyone quotes one of their posts, you'll still see the quoted text.

No, because if you were missing bits of the conversation then you wouldn't be able to follow it completely and your posts could become confusing for everyone who WAS reading the entire conversation. You just have to not let certain people get under your skin so much.

In theory, very good advice.

In practice, however? Well... We're all human.

%la la la% Not listening to you... %la la la%

;-)

edit: I can see some problems with the whole blocking of a user. As Moon-hawk said, just don't pay attention to their posts if it really bothers you.

The logout buton and the clear history option in your browser? Too extreme? Then practice some of those adult skills like restraint, self control and the like.

Restraint? It's not a matter of restraint. It's a matter of not wanting to have to scroll through five or six threads spawned by a user who's threads typicly have a VERY bad signal to noise ratio every time I check the threads. It's not a matter of being angry, and I assure you there is no self control issue. It's simply an ease of use issue.

Perhaps what you need then is a new stomping grounds. Have you tried Animal Ball or Free Speech? Because face it, DSF has 7000 some odd members man. You're bound to think some of them are goobers. (I know I think 6500 or so of them are. But I don't have to remind them every minute or harass the admins into providing a function just to help me not click on a topic.)

Actualy... I was was not reminding any of the local asshats of thier stupiditiy, nor harassing the admins. I made one single line post:

I simply wanted to know if a specific feature allready existed.

I got my answer: No, such a feature does not exist.

If there was a vote on if such a feature should be added I would support it, but I don't care enough to advocate strongly for such a feature. It would simply have been convenient for me to block a few particularly obnoxious users, and yes I am perfectly capible of just scrolling past the offending threads, It woudl just have been nice if I did not have to. Computer Science is all about automateing the repeditive, and scrolling past threads on Dikoted Oricalcum Ally spirits and power-armor clad mages with auto-fireing assault cannons is getting repetitive.

Dude, I just found this thread. This is hilarious.

As for the dikoting, I want nothing to do with dikoting ally spirits; it is cruel and inhumane.

AAAAAAAND that's the sound of an admin closing this thread.

asking about features on a forum, just like trying to play a racist extremist in SR, is probably grounds for getting your head checked.
