Trolls loving.. trolls? Options

A philsophical question for all of you. Are trolls attracted to trolls? Orcs to orcs? cyclops to cyclops. A simple question at first, but you must consider the social programing. We are all taught a certain thing is attractive, a certain shape, a sense of humour etc. An interesting question in my mind.

At the time I did have a PI troll by the name of Jack. He was raised in a catholic orphanage, taught by at least one abusive humanis teacher. I had decided that due to condition, he was not usually attracted to trolls, and thus lonely a lot of the time...

Depends if they have had enough time to develop their own culture in 2060.

I would say this would be more prevalent in wilderness Trolls than urban trolls, since they aren't exposed to the elf/human archtype of beauty as much

I'd say it would be a genetic thing. They're not just a subtle variation of humans. They're a different subspecies. They'd probably have some genetic programming that causes them to find troll girls attractive. Wouldn't stop them from mating with the other metahumans.

well, they don't have bony deposits everywhere. I mean, if you look at the troll on the cover of Mr. Johnson's Black book, he looks pretty smooth. I think most of the artists are drawing Trolls as if they were the actual tokien-style trolls, as opposed to being related to humans. I mean, they're all part of the Homo Sapiens species, so orks, trolls, humans, dwarves, and elves are all going to look fairly similar, as opposed to orks and trolls looking like something completely different.

So, I can totally see a troll being attracted to a 7 foot tall woman with horns, cute 'lil sharp tusks, and some bony deposits to rub against. In fact, I can see a few ork poser humans trying to get her digits as well.

HOLY CRAP! I didn't realize the troll in those pictures was female! Why do they have to be so wrinkly? A big muscular woman is unattractive enough. Horns are a plus. Calcium Deposits are bad, but only if they're in usually soft spots (like the stomach, chest, breasts, thighs). Tusks.....eww. Unless they're modest ones.

Well that's just racist. Not all trolls have big equipment. Looking at the animal kingdom, it is quite obvious that equipment size does not scale with body size.

Gorillas, for example, have realitivly small penes in spite of their realitivly large size.
Likewise, a troll's vagina does not have to be large at all. One would expect it to be of an appropriate size and elasticity to accommodate childbirth. However, we have never seen a picture of an infant troll. It is quite possible for a full-term newborn troll to be relatively small. Also, elasticity is far more important that resting size in this matter.

I wasn't making any comment, I just thought it was funny that someone had already mentioned about it before and the whole insecurities people have that some would respond to the pitch of having the perceived largeness that trolls may or may not have. Which is arbitrary up to the GM on that aspect of troll physiology.

I think this is an incredibly good thought. The natural idea is that trolls owuld be programed biologically to like their own kind. but they are fighting against the media telling them willowy humans and elves are hot. One rarely sees a troll girl in bikini posing next to the latest model Jag'.

There might be some social interest in 'large' girls, the way you get black werapper going on about "I like big butts" a physical tendency, the "bubble butt" more common in black women, but still getting affected by the media. The way they've found little girls from minoritys have been found to favor a blond, white Barbie over a Barbie doll that is more their ethnic type.

So Joe the Troll dock worker gets home, opens a couple of beers and watches Babe Watch and is programmed to think willowy is the peak. Goes to a bar the next night and hits on the human woman at the bar and she rejects him. What happens to his self image? What happens to his view of other metas?

It is rather well-documented that the brain is wired for this.

Basically, when you are getting sex and love, you raise you standards. When you don't get any, you lower your standards. A girl that you wouldn't even look at, after a long enough dry season your brain is ready to fall in love with her.

It's a rather efficient evolutionary strategy. You go for the best genes possible, if that fails you try the next step down in the gene pool. Repeat until you get offspring.

It really isn't any different than today, where people get disfigured or something and still manage to find mutual love later.

There was a thread on this, oh, a long time ago, i think on a previous incarnation in fact. Anyway, one good point someone brought up was that Trolls may well prefer Trolls (and maybe orc) because human girls would be far too fragile for them. Can't have any fun, they break in half. They got tiny little tits, tiny little asses... From a Troll perspective, human girls are really just small and uninteresting.

It's been shown in several validated studies that, and I'm really sorry to say this, men tend to go for women that resemble their mothers. Now this isn't my experience, but it was in New Scientist so it must be true.

That would mean that first generation trolls probably wont go for other trolls by preference and that will probably be very traumatic for them. But second generation trolls, those born of other trolls, will likely have a greater liking for other trolls. As to female trolls with male humans, it's not to say that size and strength are rated higher than a pretty face and trim body, but they do count for something and when you get to the discrepancy between humans and trolls, it's going to be a mighty confident man that can hold a troll girl in his arms and make her feel looked after. And that's something a lot of girls want.

Now lesbian trolls I can totally see going for an elf or human woman. These will be much more feminine than a female troll and there isn't so much of a cultural hang-up about needing a big strong partner.

All in all though, looks only count for so much. They might catch your eye, but ultimately we all want someone we're comfortable with, someone we trust and someone we can relate to. When you're nine-foot tall, can lift a piano and have spent your life as one of societies rarer ethnic minorities, you're going to find more of a connection with a girl who's eight-foot tall and can lift a double bed. Love is more important than simple looks.
