i should first clarify that these images are not pornographic, to Monday. i'm not looking to play a guy who's that particular flavor of disturbed. also, it's not just images; he looks for video, trideo, simsense, documents describing both the politics surrounding the events and the events themselves, etcetera. given the state of the world in 2070, there will doubtless be plenty of excuses for my GM to have Monday make a Will check to avoid following new article instead of doing whatever Matrix work he's supposed to be working on. or for me to have Monday fly off the handle all of the sudden because some random action by somebody is contributing in some arcane way to the continued use of landmines in third-world conflicts. like i said, i don't care if it conforms exactly to the Addiction flaw. it's an addiction, and it negatively affects the character; therefore, rather than make up some new Has A Sick Obsession With Horrific Data flaw, i went with Addiction. |

I'd love to watch this character more closely throughout the run. Damned shame I can't create a Shadowland account.

So it's more like what the guys at rotten and ogrish do? Will he publish the results, too?
Technically, it is an obsession, but if you want to reintegrate psychological flaws, the Addiction rules indeed provide an adequate guideline. |

the guys at rotten and ogrish are like schoolkids daring each other to eat worms. Monday is the guy who brings a new worm dish every time you invite him over.

personally, i would say it doesn't fit the addiction flaw per se simply because a severe addiction isn't going to cost you a point of essence.
but, that's just me i guess. so long as it never hits that level, the mechanics should work fine at any rate. |

While I'm good and sloshed, I'd like to have a "Y'know what, man? I love you" moment and say that I'm exceedingly happy that the SR4 hatas are actually playing a game using the system, and really trying it out.
This pleases me. Also, mfb's technomancer has inspiring me to actually take a second and think about TM's, as opposed to ignoring them outright. |

contrary to popular belief, and also contrary to my frequent venomous outbursts, i love TMs. i hate their radio brains, i'd have chosen a different name, and i wouldn't have waited for Emergence to give them some flavor, but everything else is great. it's just that the things i dislike--well, just the one thing, really--sticks in my craw somethin' fierce.
much can actually be said about the rest of SR4. there's a lot i like, but what i don't like, i really really really really really hate. |

Your GM may also just say that you got sucked into a particularly amped-up simsense feed from a special on The Battle Channel live from the Ivory Coast. |

I can confirm the rules aspect of the quote. I also think that registering being free is a bug (although a bug that counters the TM weakness bug, but thats no the point). I dont like TMs with sprites that owe 100+ services . . . |

I dunno, as long as my player isn't being abusive then some hell-bend-for-leather AI won't show up and hijack his sprites. ;) On that note, I am scared to speculate what exactly AI's will be able to do. I like having my groups be the "hero" (or anti-hero) so if that means they hold better cards then 90% of their opponents then great as long as it fits into our style and helps "make the story". The evil-GM side of me loves when a team gets cocky and I have to adjust that with some unexpected Prime Runner, event or encounter. :vegm: |
