Hi, I'm running a 3rd Edition campaign and I had a question on Locate File with a Host-Host Access system.

Say my system looks like this:

[LTG]-[HostA]-[HostB]-[HostC]

The files are stored on HostC. If the decker enters HostA and performs a successful Locate File, would the result tell him that the file does not exist, or would it tell him that the file is on HostC?

Could be either, depends how the sysadmin set it up. Say HostC is a top-secret research host, and HostA runs secreterial applications: HostA won't know what's on HostC.

So it depends how you want to set it up. You could say "Go look on HostB", or whatever you like.
