Tuesday 8/19/70 03:53:00 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Passive Caittie had just watched the two trolls walk away from her to converse in low levels. Trying to concentrate on what was being said, she barely picked up what Ceberus was saying, but it was choppy at best. "Yeah, I know......Louie....Hell.....Angelo.....................No way I'm offing a helpless little girl....................no matter what....no matter what.......freaking serious..... up to her eyeballs in something............", he wispered to Rocky, but Caittie never heard if he said anything back. The last bit was clearer as he looked directly at her, almost as if he wanted her to hear it. After hearing that, she saw the cybered up troll reach down and pick up his Ingram. Her heart picked up its pace automatically as Caittie stepped back a few paces and slowly reached down for her bag. Picking it up, she unconsiously put it over her left shoulder, so it covered some of her left side, in a vain attempt for armor if he tried to shoot at her again. As she saw him looking at her with his glowing green eyes, he saw her staring back with her piercing green eyes. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:53:05 Rocky - physical adept PAN: Off Seeing the girl tense up Rocky realizes they need to get things moving, "Ok Cattie take a deep breath, as of now we are all on the same side. We just gotta come up with a way to get you otta here in one piece and determine how Cerberus and I want to deal with our work for Louie." Rocky continues looking around trying to see if anything will give him an idea to help get them out of this. Looking over at Cattie he asks, "So since we've covered you're not a mage, what exactly is that you can do?" |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:53:10 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Passive Caittie relaxed a little as Rocky turned around and tried to calm her down. She still stared at Ceberus as he slung his machinegun over his shoulder and crossed his arms over his chest. With that last sight, the girl took a deep breath and relaxed some more, since she felt that the immediate danger had passed. 'He's right, we need to figure out how we are going to get out of here. What they do with Louie is their own thing, but I hope they frag him', she told herself as she exhaled. "So since we've covered you're not a mage, what exactly is that you can do?" Her brow furled a bit as she moved her gaze from cybered troll to the other. 'Is this guy for real or are all trolls this dense?', she asked herself. The male giants then saw the smaller girl put a hand on her hip as she ran the other one through her hair. "Considering what I did to your comm, I'll give you three guesses and the first two dont count", she responded in a slightly annoyed voice. "As for thinking up a way to get out of here, I was doing that until your chromed friend scared the shit out of me with his toy. Give me a few seconds to think, unless one of you two can come up with something..." |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:53:13 Rocky - physical adept PAN: Off Rocky just nods at Cattie's answer about what she does. "Ok so you can hack, but not to burst your bubble but breaking this thing down," Motioning toward his belt, "is not a major acomplishment. Now your apparent control over the hotel's systems was a bit more impressive. At least to a noob like me." "I got nothing, short of walking out and beating who ever trys to get in the way to a pulp, how 'bout you?" Directing the question at Cerberus as he joins them. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:53:17 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Passive Hearing that Rocky had no plan other than duking it out with the very people who sent him in here, Caittie opened some windows on her glasses. As she looked she saw feeds from the outside security cameras, she spoke up. "Though I wouldn't mind having some of those bastards eat lead, I'm pretty sure they would kill you two in the end, and don't even think of me using that thing", she told the trolls while pointing to the Ingram. "The cameras outside show at least five of your people at the front door, and the way the cameras are set up, there are probably more. I cant really tell how many are at the back door. With this information though, I think I can get us out of here with little or no bloodshed", Caittie continued. After saying that, she turned towards the trolls and walked between them, headed towards the north stairs and the two victims. As she walked, she concentrated and twisted her abilities, like she had done so many times in the past few days. There inside her mind, she felt the quick burst of energy and felt Shadow's presence once again. Before the sprite could offer any complaint, Caittie sent the mental commands that she wanted done and the sprite begrudgingly complied. She felt a pang of guild for walking past the woman, who looked from her to the two trolls as they passed. "I'm sorry...", was all Caittie whispered as she continued by, wiping a few tear from her eyes. 'I cant be doing this! If I dont hold myself together, then I might end up just like her or the dwarf over there', she told herself as she strengthened her resolve. With her mind free to do other things now, she talk over her shoulder back to the following men. "It looks like there are fewer of them at the back entrance and I think I can get them away from there", Caittie exlpained as she started stepping down the stairs. As they reached the midpoint landing, she had a slight frown on her face. "Ok, I can only read three of them out the back door, and I hope my idea works, cause if not, it'll be in your court", she finished, indicating both of the trolls. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:55:53 Rocky - physical adept PAN: Off Standing at the corner in the hallway Rocky slowly looks around the corner to see if he can catch sight of anyone standing outside as the door opens and closes as the last few people move to get out of the building. "Ok, so we are just going to walk out the back door, right? If any of the goons are there Cerberus and I will deal with them as quickly and quietly as we can. Once we are out of here which way we going?" As he's talking Rocky looks down at Cerberus' gun, as he mentions the quiet part. Looking over at Cattie, Rocky makes one last suggestion, "Wait just inside the door till we give you the all clear." |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:10 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Passive "Give me a little more time and you might not have to fight anyone", the red head told Rocky as she started staring at something infront of her that wasnt there. To her eyes, she saw a floating window open up as she logged back onto Angelo's commlink. She reached out with her arms and started typing onto open air. In her vision, she saw text flowing across the screen, and as she sent the message to the intended targets, Caittie felt something new in the node besides her. As her mind felt out what it was, the window turned untll she saw a man in a pinstriped suit and slicked back hair coming towards her. His motions were jerky and uncoordinated, like he wasnt used to controlling his avatar on this level. Though his body movements were ungainly, his voice still carried clearity even in the virtal realm as it boomed out, "Hey, YOU! You are DEAD, bitch..." Caittie didnt even say anything in response, hell, she didnt even move her hands. She just flexed her mind and the window went black, followed by it auto-closing. As she blinked once, she focused back on the trolls, saying, "Ok, in around ten seconds, I should know what we are going to face out there. Looking at the security cameras we need to run out and turn left. There is an empty alley we can run down and hopefully escape from this place." With that, she commanded the security cameras on the outside to shut down and then logged out of the building's node. |

Carl's Coffins - north stairwell, ground floor
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:25 Caittie shifted her perception out of AR to find Cerberus staring at her intently, obviously waiting to see if they were going to have "to fight anyone." But all the elf could do was shrug her shoulders sheepishly. "Aw geez," groaned the green-skinned troll. Without another word, he took a quick-peek around the corner, and then rolled smoothly around it, the light machine gun back on its gyro-mount and readied at port arms. The back door was ajar, the last of the fleeing tenants having just left. Pelting rain lashed through the narrow aperture. Cerberus didn't hesitate but shouldered his way through the door, crab-stepping sideways, facing east toward the street-side mouth of the alley, lowering his weapon into firing position the moment the barrel cleared the doorjamb. "Clear. Move," he said quietly, edging far enough away from the door for the other two to duck past him and west, deeper into the shadow of the structure. |

Carl's Coffins
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:37 Caittie wasted no time, stepping across the narrow width of the alley behind her erstwhile assassin and clawing at the chain link fence. But it was slippery from the torrential rain, which continued unabated, and there were plastic slats woven through the links to make climbing harder and impair visibility. With no idea what lay on the other side, she frantically scambled upward, almost falling, but finally tumbling safely over to the other side. As she climbed, Rocky could hear running footsteps approaching on the street side, and knew there was not a moment to lose. He grabbed the top of the fence and vaulted it easily, just as a group of at least three mobsters - all with longarms - turned into the alley mouth and then stopped short as they looked into the maw of Cerberus' huge personal weapon. He'd heard them too, and he was ready... Over the fence, they also saw Rocky's head and shoulders, and their momentary confusion blossomed into annoyance and anger - "What the fuck are you two trogs doing back here? Taking a piss?" demanded their leader. |

Alley north of Carl's Coffins
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:40 Cerberus simply whispered, "A lead piss, Spaghetti-boy," and opened the throttle on his gyro-mounted Ingram White Knight. Two of the thugs managed to scatter right and left, but the leader was caught flat footed and got stitched across the gut, throwing him back into the rain-slicked street. The rain poured down relentlessly, just as the ripped and cybered troll never let up on the firing mechanism for a second, continuing to track his third target regardless of the intervening fence. Seeing that the gut-shot guy was nonetheless reaching into his jacket, Rocky instinctively hauled out his Ruger SuperWarhawk and put a round of EX directly between the thug's eyes, then joined his partner in pouring fire through the fence until they'd made a whole big enough to see what little was left of their target. Then Cerberus' clip went empty with a stomach-dropping click, the sound the wiseguys around the corner had been waiting for. For some reason, the first one's assault rifle blew up in his face, but Cerberus had no time to appreciate the affect, since the other guy with the Remington 990 was pumping accurate fire his way. Or it would have been accurate if the creep wasn't moving in what was effectively slow motion to a wired street sam - his troll target dove over the fence with unnatural speed, the big slugs whizzing through empty air. |

Carl's Coffins
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:37 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Off Caittie hit the ground on the other side of the fence, her boots splashing in a small body of water. The area was dark and forboding, barring the little light from a lone flicking fixture above one of the warehouse doors. She barely registered the ratling on the other side, due to Rocky climbing, as she immediatly started moving forward. 'Run, gotta get away... RUN!', went through her mind as she saw a relatively clean straightaway in front of her through the dark and rain. The people who owned the warehouse she ran along must have kept the place pretty orderly, but that mattered little to the elf who ran along side it. She silently thanked the fact that her eyes could see well in the gloom despite the rain and wind. Through the rain and her own breath, the sound of gunfire and the strobing of light came from behind her. She instinctively reached up for her head, but with nothing hitting around her, she continued running. Crys of pain could be heared to her rear, but it got fainter as she sounds of rain and running boots drowned them out. As she came up to the fence at the end of the building, she started clawing at it, trying to get over it as fast as possible. An outward observer would have seen the look of panic starting to creep over her face as she desperatly tried to get away from the hell that was behind her. |

Alley north of Carl's Coffins
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:44 Rocky & Cerberus Cerberus hit the ground at a run, water from the rain that had pooled up slashing up around him. Not that it mattered since he was throughly soaked from the rain and sprinklers. Rocky leaned down a little to not provide a target over the fence, as he glanced back he saw Cerberus diging something out of his pocket with his free hand as his other kept his huge gun from banging into the ground as they ran. Rocky focused his attention ahead of them to make sure no one surprised them from the darkness and looked around for the elf girl. She hadn't slowed down at all after making it over the fence and was almost to the one at the far end of the alley. Hope none of Louie's boys are on the other side, or she'll be dead before we get there. As Rocky finshed his though he caught a flash of light behind them and and hear the explosion of what he guessed had to be a grenade, and thinks he hears a few screams from the far side of the fence. Looking over at Cerberus he sees that he hasn't slowed down and now was digging something else out of his suit. This time Rocky kept glancing back, wanting to see what other tricks his partner had in store. With a little work Cerberus fished an extra clip from his pocket and into his machine gun, using the smartlink to chamber the first round. He kept moving with occasional glances back, ready to stop and lay down another hail of bullets if needed. A few seconds later they were at the fence that blocked the alley. They could see Cattie stand from her landing on the other side of the fence and look around to see what was going on. Rocky took a second to look around as well since he did not need to be over the fence to see what was on the other side. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:54:50 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Off The elven girl jumped off the top of the chainlink fence to the concrete sidewalk below. Landing into a crouch, the water from a huge puddle splashed out in a small wave all around her, but with the volume of water falling out of the sky it made not a bit of difference to her. Soaked to the bone in the chilling wet of the stormy Seattle night, she breathed heavily from the sprinting she had just done to get this far away from the hell zone that was the coffin motel. Standing up slowly, she reached up with her left hand she pushed some strands of errant red hair out from in front of her face and tucked it behind her pointed ear. Then while holding the hand over above her eyes to block out some of the torrential downpour, she looked around. The scene was one that no meta-human in their right mind would be out in, but even so, here in the pouring night there were people. Other patrons, half naked in their haste to escape from the Carl's Coffins, ran in different directions, fear painted plainly on their faces. The street itself was gloomy, with all the small stores and rundown warehouses closed and looming in the dark, barely illuminated by the spotty streetlights. The rain fell in sheets, causing her vision to be blurry not too far out and she couldn't make out much. What did make itself known easily was a great lit up area around five blocks to her west. From what she could tell, it looked to be a shopping district of some sort. 'I'll probably be safer down there with more people and lights. I just hope I can make it there before I'm spotted', she thought as Caittie stood up and started running in that direction. A few seconds later, she could barely hear something over the sound of her boots clomping through the ever-present pools of water. Quickly glancing back behind her, she saw her would be assassins and pseudo-saviors as they just jumped over the fence she herself climbed over a few seconds earlier. 'I need to find a way to ditch these idiots. Blood thirsty, homicidal maniacs!', Caittie told herself as she looked back in the direction she was running. Using her elven green eyes, she scanned the area she was running into for anything to use to escape the two behind her, but found nothing on the empty street. Letting out a quick sigh, she just continued to run westward toward the lights that she hoped led to safety and freedom from this mess. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:55:20 Cerberus - Street Samurai PAN - passive Reaching the far side of the warehouse lot where Caittie was just landing on the other side of easily it dawned on Cerberus it might not be the best idea to be running around with his IWK in plain view. Rocky was already climbing up and over the fence and Caittie was standing on the other side with her hand shielding her eyes from the rain looking for something when Rocky paused to look back at Cerberus who was not climbing the fence. "Im fine, keep going. I will catch up in a second." Cerberus took a quick glance back across the lot to the first fence which he could barely see in the pouring rain but well enough to know the explosion from his grenade had wrecked most of it. Kneeling down he unslung his hockey bag and unzipped the main compartment. Unhooking his IWK from its gyromount yet again and with practiced ease he stuffed it into the bag onto its rack. Zipping up the bag again Cerberus stood holding the thick shoulder strap of the bag and threw it over his shoulder again with most of it resting behind him. Cerberus grabbed the top of the fence and then he was up and over, careful not to let his bag catch on the fence, only a couple of seconds behind Rocky. Looking in the direction Rocky and Caittie had both run they were only a short run away. Thankful for all the heavy cardio his friend Kyle made him endure he wasnt even breaking a sweat yet not that you could tell from looking at him in his wet, bloody, dishevelled suit. Cerberus set out after them in a sprint until he had caught up with Rocky and then eased up. Looking ahead Cerberus could easily make out the lit up parking lot of a shopping mall. "Oh frag us, we need to catch her ass before she gets to that shopping mall. I dont feel like being seen by all those people or all those camera's. Do I get to play grab ass with her now or do you want the honors?" Cerberus asked with a big smile on his face. Cerberus bellowed after Caittie, "Stop running damn it!!" |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:55:33 Rocky - physical adept PAN: Off After running about a hundred or so meters in the driving rain Rocky catches Cerberus calling out to the girl over the pouring rain, "Stop running damn it!!" Rocky just stops and swears, "Frak it, and Frak that slitch! If she don't want our help let Louie and his thugs kill'er!" As the adrenlin starts to wear off after the run Rocky almost falls over as the cramps from his withdrawl re-asert their will over his body. He was sweating like a dog too but no one could tell thanks to the rain. Looking over at Cerberus he gets a few words out between gasps, "Look, I think our work for Louie is done, so we best take care of our selves." Rocky starts moving for the lights the girl was running for but just at a walk now, guessing the rain will make it hard to pick them out in the dark from the building, but still glances back occassionly to make sure. "We need to start taking care of our selves now and quick or we are going to wake up to a gang of mobsters outside our place one night. I think we could make a good team, if your interested? If not we just go our seperate ways, chummer." Rocky holds out a hand to Cerberus |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:55:33 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Off Caittie barely heard it over the downpour and boots stomping through pools of water, but she heard it none the less. The bellowing voice triggered a vision of glowing green eyes as she heard, "Stop running damn it!!" Glancing back behind her, the panting elf saw two giant blurry figures running towards her and gaining ground. The one in the lead looked a bit like the one named Rocky, so she assumed the one behind him sprinting was Ceberus. "Screw that!", was her only reply as she then looked back ahead of her. Glancing at her surroundings quickly, Caittie angled herself so she wasn't running straight down the sidewalk, but across the road towards the other side. There had been no vehicles since she started running down the road, and none that showed themselves while crossing. It wasn't much, but having the street between her and the assailants gave her just a bit more of a sense of safety. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:56:03 Cerberus - Street Samurai PAN - passive Shortly after catching up with Rocky, Cerberus was suprised to see that he was already exausted. He looked like he should be in much better shape, but his cursing proclaimed otherwise. When Rocky stopped running and started talking Cerberus stopped a few strides later because he was in disbelief of what he was hearing. "Frak it, and Frak that slitch! If she don't want our help let Louie and his thugs kill'er!" "Look, I think our work for Louie is done, so we best take care of our selves." "We need to start taking care of our selves now and quick or we are going to wake up to a gang of mobsters outside our place one night. I think we could make a good team, if your interested? If not we just go our seperate ways, chummer." Cerberus turned to face Rocky. Apparently yes things can always get worse. Can this polly piss pants follow through with anything? What the hell? I've met little girls who had more backbone than this guy. I'd love to just knock this guys teeth through the back of his head. Cerberus began walking towards Rocky who at this point looked like he was about to collapse. I gotta calm down....I've got enough things to worry about. Try not to explode on him, you never know what will happen in the future. Cerberus fell into pace beside Rocky obviously giving up on catching the girl. "I dont understand you man. First you dont wanna kill the girl, which as it turns out you were right about, and now you dont care if she dies or not? Im not about trying to turn down friends especially a fellow troll but my trust level with you is low. I know you can kick some serious butt when you want to but are you sure you have the killer instinct for this line of work. You've even got me doubting myself and thats a bad thing. If Loui is going to be coming after us we need to get our minds in the right place." Cerberus met Rocky's handshake with his own. "I think you are right about one thing though, we do need to look after ourselves. Im gonna bounce and clear out my doss and lay low for awhile. You've got my commcode and if it dont work try leaving a message with a girl named Cali who works at Club Rain on the second floor as a bar tender. Good Luck." Replying with a nod to the stuff Rocky said next he turns and bolts in a different direction to the one the girl went, a direction that is darker. After a couple of blocks he takes cover near a building and calls for a taxi to come pick his wet, tired, bloody ass up. As the thought of sleep overtakes him he mentally slaps himself back to full alert as the thought of mobsters waiting for him at home fill his mind... whats the best way to get my shit... |

Mall of Seattle
Tuesday 8/19/70 03:58:55 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Off Caittie found herself once more at one of the entrances to the Mall of Seattle. The place was different now, here in the dark and stormy night, as the lights were low or turned off in places. Surrounded by the darkened parking lot, it was a dark and foreboding giant amongst the other well lit stores in the area. Sitting on one of the benches in the shadows, the elven girl slowly wrung her long red hair out, trying not to damage it while still getting a lot of the water out. It was a long process but it allowed her to think about what happened and what she was going to do next. She was out of the rain, for now, but Caittie was still cold and tired from the night. It didn’t help that she had to be paranoid of everything that she heard or saw, lest she get caught again by the very men she escaped a little while ago. Not too long ago, she had just gotten past the second store into the shopping district when she heard the sound of screeching tires coming from some distance away. Normally she would had paid little attention to them, but in her current situation, she ran around the corner of the building and jumped into some bushes that lined the store. She felt a little stupid for hiding there as the seconds past and nothing happened, but just as she was about to climb out a fleet of black vehicles, SUVs and sedans, made their way down the street. A few split off here and there, going down side roads, but before Caittie could do anything, they were beyond her sight due to other buildings blocking her view. After waiting a few more seconds and not hearing anything else, the elf climbed out of the shrubbery and started making her way farther down the street, this time keeping an ear out for anything. This was easier said than done, as the sound of the torrent of water drowned out most sounds in the area. Even so, she made her way, cursing the rain, her wet cloths, and finally Louie ‘Fishbreath’ Finnigan for being the prick that put her out in this situation. The teenager didn’t even register how far she had jogged in the rain, just that she was moving away from where she didn’t want to be. Eventually she found herself here at the mall again, though she had to crouch behind one of the dead light poles as a couple of vehicles passed on the street. They were too far away to see what color or type they were, but Caittie wasn’t taking any chances. They drove past without anything happening, so she continued on until she got to the entrance she was still at. Seeing the last bit of water drip from her hair, she ran her hands through the length of it and then shook them off. Shivering from a sudden breeze, she hugged herself and felt the soggy shirt. Her pants weren’t that better off, and due to the fabric, they held more water than her shirt did. Looking around she saw some small bushes in a raised flowerbed that seemed to be around a meter tall. Climbing over it, she blushed a bit as she pulled off her wet cargo pants and started to wring them out too. ‘I sure hope they don’t have any cameras out here, or else someone is going to get a good look’, she thought to herself as she stood there in nothing but her boots, shirt and pink panties. She was just about finished with her current task when the sound of broken glass sounded from somewhere nearby. Quickly ducking down, she peered through the bushes, searching and listening for what caused the noise. A few seconds later, a black SUV slowly rolled into view, its engine making little noise over the sound of the falling rain. The lights were turned off and she thought she saw someone inside actively looking through the passenger windows towards the entrance of the mall. Caittie was sweating bullets the entire few seconds that seemed like eternity, but just as soon as it drove up, it started driving away, this time turning on it’s lights and picking up speed. Quickly putting her pants back on, she just sat there behind the bushes, looking and listening for anything else that might be out there. Nothing more came out of the darkness for a while, and she finally relaxed some. “This sucks... I need to get out of here and not on foot.”, she said to herself as she reached into her backpack and turned on her commlink. Seeing it run through its startup routine, Caittie suddenly felt it’s online presence a few seconds later. Quickly reaching out with her mind, she pulled up and then parsed through a listing of places she could stay at that were nowhere near here. Selecting one that was in an ok area, by her standards at least, she called one of the regular taxi services that were well known in Seattle. Not too long after that, she saw a yellow checkered pull up to the entrance and just sit there, though the driver looked a bit confused about pulling up to the closed mall. Climbing out of the bushes, Caittie walked up to the cab and climbed into the back seat. Without a word, she sent the address to her destination to the cabby and he started driving off. It was a silent and uneventful ride, which the elf didn’t mind. It left her time to just sit there and be thankful that she might be free of this mess. Eventually the vehicle pulled to a stop across town, a LCD on the divider window displaying the fee of the ride. Making mental contact with her credstick, she saw the numbers in her AR glasses drop as the amount was deducted from it. Divine Rest Tuesday 8/19/70 04:27:19 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN - Hidden Stepping out of the vehicle, she sprinted into the building, disregarding the look of the outside in favor for the dry interior. Though different from Carl’s Coffins, it had a similar layout as it was one of the most efficient types for coffin motels. She just stood there in the entrance for a little bit as she closed her eyes and prayed for nothing else to happen to her today. The teenage girl then pulled up a customer map of the building and then started walking towards the cleaning area. Walking inside the communal bathroom, she stripped off her still wet cloths and took her spare cloths out of her soaked backpack along with everything else. Tossing her cloths and the backpack into one of the washer/dryers, she then ‘rented’ a towel and then proceeded to take a nice long hot shower to wash away not only the cold from the rain but the horrible feeling of being helpless yet again. One couldn’t tell where the streams of shower water and streams of tears began or ended on Caittie's face, but you could tell they were there... |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:56:30 Rocky - physical adept PAN: Off Rocky nods and responds, "Understood, catch up with you in a day or two chummer. Comm me if you need anything." With that Rocky keeps walking toward the lights that the girl had been running for. Thinking over the nights events as he goes. As he steps out on to the main street he takes a quick look around to make sure he doesn't see any of Louie's thugs. Seeing that the coast was clear, he reached down and pulled his comm off his belt and powered it back on, making sure it was set to hidden mode. Making a quick call he arranges for a cab about a block down the street. Five minutes later Rocky was in the back of a cab watching the water run off his suit. The driver hadn't even looked that close at him as he climbed in the cab. It was going to be a long ride so Rocky just leaned his head back and closed his eyes, trying to relax as he waited. The drive over to his place took about 20 minutes and was uneventful, as they pulled on to his street, Rocky has the cab stop about two blocks short of his building so he could scope things out before walking in. he paid the cabbie and climbed out. After the cab pulled away he slipped his revolver out of its holster and in to his jacket pocket so it would be easy to get to. Walking down the block he took his time, keeping an eye out for any cars that may be Louie's goons. The rain was still coming down hard so it was making it hard to see real far, but hopefully he would spot an odd car before the people inside it could spot him. |

Tuesday 8/19/70 03:56:33 Cerberus - Street Samurai PAN - passive Hiding in the shadows of a building Cerberus fumed, There is going to be hell to pay for this shit, and I'll probably end up paying the most god damn it. I gotta get my stuff from my house if Angelo hasnt already sent people to toss it. Hopeully he is still trying to figure out what happened and hasnt sent his goons into action. He will probably have to talk to Loui to see what his master has to say. Then..OH SHIT!! Cerberus's thoughts were suddenly broken as a black suv pulls onto the street he is on. Closing his eye for fear of whoever is in the vehicle seeing them he is reminded of when he was a child and how he would do something similar to protect himself, if I cant see them, they cant see me. Cerberus locked his ears onto the suv and listened as the suv crept along the road painfully slow and then turned at the next intersection and crept along at the same pace. As soon as he could tell the suv was far enough away he opened his eyes back up. Man i have got to get me a pair of shades when i need to disguise my eyes, maybe i will get a pair of those fancy kind that let me see AR. Before Cerberus could get back to his previous thoughts a taxi pulled onto the street and came to a stop near him. Sprinting out of the shadows he made for the taxi relishing the thought of being out of this torrential downpour. Opening the rear passenger side door Cerberus set his hockey bag in the floor board and then climbed in and sprawled out across the back seat as best he could. "Hell of a rain out there eh chummer? Feels like Howling Coyote or some shit is doing some great ghost dance or something." The cabbie just gave a polite chuckle and then asked Cerberus for a destination. Cerberus told the cabby where to go. The rest of the ride home Cerberus used the time to try and think up a plan to get his stuff and get out safely but there were just to many scenarios, not to mention he knew how that old saying was that "the best laid plans only survive until first contact" from his fighter days was so very true. I'll just come in from the alley go up to my apartment and grab my combat jacket and change out of this stupid suit and grab the rest of my clothes and jet on my bike. I'll stay away for a couple of days and try to find out what the frag is going on. As the cab pulled over by the side of the road near an alley the cabbie barked out the cost of the ride. Using his commlink the nuyen was transferred and the cabbie was thanking him for the business. Cerberus climbed out of the cab with his bag in tow and proceeded to enter the alley. After he felt he was out of plain sight he set the bag on the ground and rumaged around in it until he was pulling his hands back out which were now holding a throwing knife in each one. Slipping the shoulder strap over his head and making sure it was positioned behind him he made his way to his apartment building. He used his enhanced eyes and ears to check for anything out of the ordinary, anything that would suggest he was about to walk into an ambush. |

Cerbers's Doss
Tuesday 8/19/70 04:27:23 Cerberus - Street Samurai PAN - passive Cerberus scanned the rooflines looking for any snipers, nothing. He scanned the windows, nothing. He checked for vehicles with their engines running or guys dressed like mafia, nothing. Switching to thermal he repeated the process and still came up empty. He didnt have time to sit around and wait or waste time checking from every angle he had to move if he wanted to stay ahead of these guys because they would most assuredly be coming after him. Taking a deep breathe he broke from the shadows and sprinted to his apartment building. I just have to get my shit and get out of here asap Doing his best to go up the stairs quitely Cerberus reached his apartment door. Not seeing any signs of a break in he unlocked the door and proceeded in. After carefully and quickly searching his house, throwing knives at the ready, he quickly stripped off his auctioneer business suit and the ugly loafers that went with it and grabbed some more urban friendly clothing from his closet. A pair of dark blue jean cargo pants, his biker style combat jacket and a nice pair of black work boots later and he was dressed. Reaching into the closet he grabbed the few articles of clothing he owned and stuffed them into his hockey bag followed by his suit and loafers and then he was ready to roll. Zipping up the hockey bag and throwing it over his shoulder he made his way to his front door. Holding both throwing knives in one hand he looked at his new barely used apartment one last time and then reached for the door... |

Tuesday 8/19/70 04:28:24 ...but stopped his hand as his commlink vibrated short-long-short-long, signaling an incoming text message, no sender-ID. <<Three of Louie's men headed up stairs toward you. Two more setting up in building across from your window.>> |

Tuesday 8/19/70 04:25:00 The cold rain had a maddening tendency to mute any differences in ambient temperature. Norms had night blindness, dwarves and trolls joked about "rain blindness." But to Rocky, soaking wet outside his coffin hotel right now, it was no laughing matter. From across the street he peered at the parked cars lining both sides of the streets, the normal visual spectrum nearly useless, and infrared not much better. But one car caught his eye - he'd missed it on his first pass, but now he gave it a closer look. The engine looked just a tad warmer than the others - which in this rain meant it was actually a lot hotter than the others. And although it faded in and out as water poured over the windows, he thought there were heat signatures inside. |

Divine Rest
Tuesday 8/19/70 05:11:43 Caittie - Technomancer - Hidden PAN – Hidden The heavy steel door silently swung open on its hinges, showing an elven face on the outside just as she tossed her backpack into the opened space. After she climbed inside, the door automatically closed and locked itself into place after detecting the commlink on her hip going past the threshold. Caittie pushed her backpack towards one of the corners of the small coffin with her feet as she put the commlink and her glasses on the small shelf that held a small light. She was around halfway through with taking off her pants when she stopped and changed her mind. Considering everything that had happened to her this night, she figured she would be better off leaving them on, not to mention feeling a little bit safer. She was just happy to be wearing dry cloths at the moment, considering what she was wearing not an hour ago. Overall, she felt a lot better after letting it all out of her system in the shower. Still, the fact that she was found by the very man that had attacked and killed her friends and family scared her to no end. Caittie had though that with them blowing up her house and her getting another SIN, she would be safe, but that didn’t seem the case. She was going to have to protect herself any way she could, and find out who exactly Louie ‘Fishbreath’ Finnegan was. The young woman took a deep breath, trying to figure out ways she could protect herself. She finally figured that she should start with making it harder to find her by using her commlink against her. Reaching into it with her mind, she pulled up the data line that comprised her commcode and bent it to her will. It shifted and rearranged itself into a similar string of numbers and letters, but not the same as before. Feeling that was enough for her commlink, she thought about how they found her in the first place. They couldn’t have used her SIN since it wasn’t her true SIN, and she doubted they could have used DNA tracking of some kind. Caittie finally settled on the fact that they must have seen her on through a camera feed or something when she was back at Carl’s Coffins. She nodded to herself as she thought about how to fix that problem. An outward observer would have thought the red head had fallen asleep, with the young elf laying back and closing her eyes. To Caittie, while she was still in the cramped coffin, she was now on the outskirts of a small ruined village, the view of burned down buildings through the think mist causing the shadows to move of their own accord. The nightscape just added to the haunted look of her home node, as the young elven woman walked around viewing her ever changing personal sanctuary. Sighing deeply, she focused her mind and the familiar steps to compile a sprite were like second nature now. What did cause her to raise an eyebrow was when the light faded and left a man who by all accounts looked pretty normal except for a blue bandanna tied around his head and a few daggers at his belt. He just stood there in the mist and darkness, looking around like it wasn’t a big deal, his silence deafening in the area. Then, without even looking directly at Caittie, he spoke up, “Someone new this time… And it looks like you aren’t in a good mood, are you?” Looking over at the woman for the first time through a sideways glance, he chuckled a bit, “Well… What do you need done that you can’t do yourself?” Taking a deep breath, Caittie pointed over to a light out in the distance. It looked like a golden light falling upon masses and layers of clouds. When she saw that the man had glanced in that direction, she replied, “I need for you to get into that node and change the video logs to remove me from them.” She handed him a scroll which he unfurled to show a picture of her in real life. Nodding, he mumbled, “Should be easy enough”, before running off in the direction of the cloud node. It wasn’t long before she felt the sprite over the mental connection. “It’s done. I’ll see you around”, was the last thing she heard before the link went dead. Even though her avatar shook her head, she couldn’t help but grin a bit. It didn’t last long though, as she thought about her next task, trying to find out just who Louie ‘Fishbreath’ Finnegan was. Concentrating yet again, the expected flash reviled a lady with short blond hair in a white tunic and breeches. She looked at Caittie and simply asked, “Can I help you?” The young technomancer simply looked at her sprite and replied, “Find anything you can on Louie Finnegan, and return the information to my commlink” as she held out a rolled up scroll. As the sprite replied, "As you wish", she was bathed in white light and dissapeared. Caittie's avatar soon dissapeared as well, as she once again found herself in the real world. |

Cerbers's Doss
Tuesday 8/19/70 04:28:30 Cerberus - Street Samurai PAN - passive Looking down at his commlink Cerberus read the message scrolling across the reader and froze for a second. In a blur his outstretched hand moved from the doorpanel to his commlink killing the lights in his apartment. With the stuff that had went down tonight he had no reason to doubt the message even though it didnt say who it was from. Sprinting to the kitchen that was just off the main room and completely open he dropped his hockey bag to the ground and searched frantically for his IWK after unzipping the bag. Finding the support handle he jerked it out of the bag sending clothes flying out of the bag. Removing the few articles that were still draped over the barrel he backed up against the far wall so nobody looking in through the windows would be able to see him. Lining up the barrel of the gun with his front door he waited. Cycling between low light and thermal he opted to go with thermal. Making sure his gun was set to burst fire he waited in the dark. Standing there in what seemed like an eternity he began to wonder who had sent him the message. Who the hell messaged me and how the hell did they know mobster were coming up my stairs and setting up across the street? He didnt get the chance to think about it much because a second or two later and he was hearing footsteps approaching his apartment.... |
