Basically I'm interested in GMing a SR3 Merc campaign which will feature feature the PCs as globe-trotting Soldiers of Fortune. Ideally each adventure will be relatively short (although not always straight forward) missions, in a variety of hot spots around the Sixth World. It will be an opportunity for me to play with me Shadows Of books (damn you holostreets for no Latin America) because most of the time I can't run a campaign that ever gets out of Seattle. I'd like a good handful of players. Decent combat skills are probably a must, secondary skills (magic, tech, rigging etc) always gonna be useful.
Those interested may PM character sheets. You may, but do not have to write a brief description of your intended character below. |

Would a 'combat decker' be a plausible PC?
Had one that was a former SEAL. Went by C3PO. (Command,Control,Communications Petty Officer) and yes, I do find my own jokes hilarious |

I'd like to play a combat rigger. Would I be expected to provide group transportation? Ground, Air, Water?

As much as I've been telling myself that I'm not going to put in for any more games... I do love globe hopping. And it would be quite a change to play a gun bunny....

all of those are very acceptable. just pm character sheets.
in terms of transportation you guys can pool funds for some sort of vehicle for your rigger, or whatever you may need. in many cases you will be expected to arrive in theater, make whatever contacts are necessary to acquire the equipment you need before the job, and than do it. |

I have the CharSheet on a hunter/tracker/survivalist. No BG yet. More adapted to non-urban campaigns, but not neccesarily cast-typed. I would consider completing dev if he would fit into game.

yes absolutely, although it would be highly preferable if the character is not a PRESENT member of any particular merc company.

Three quick questions:
Are Raygun's weapons allowed? Should we each put some of our starting resources aside to put into a team pool for funds? Is cultured Bioware allowed if the Avialability is 8 or under? |

Couple more questions:
Alternate metatypes acceptable? (Night one, Ogre,Goblin etc) Advanced Unarmed yay or nay? (Muay thai, Wildcat, Aikido etc, From the companion) For me, ability to use price reduction for ordering parts/components for complete deck? (not near books at moment but believe its up to 15 percent off.) |

If it's mentioned before, I missed it, but where is our group's main base of operations?

I think we're freelancers so my best guess would be one of the 'free cities/ports'
And sorry for all the questions I just like to have what options are available before the task of creation. Basically my concept is a 'radio man' as well as intelligence gatherer for the group. |

More questions:
Which city do we want to be based out of? How are we getting around to various parts of the world? I doesn't seem fair to dump all of that on our rigger. De Badd Ass, I can kick over about 50,000 to help with group transportation. Maybe we should look into a fixed with air craft for globe hoping. |

I havent done the exact number crunching but, i can easily match that 50k...maybe more once i get word back on a question i posed (then the number crunching)
with this in mind (the vehicle) can we get the 'used vehicle' reduction from the rigger book? I know it comes with stress points but hey, that'd be part of her character or charm i should say. This post has been edited by JackRipper: Oct 10 2006, 11:21 PM |

Metatype: Yes.. tenatively. please be sure to work metatype into your background (most goblins are middle eastern not new yorkers for example). Advanced Hand-to-Hand: By all means. I think you referring to the rules for building a deck rather than buying one off the shelf? Yes you may do that. Please doublecheck your math, as I am terrible at math and if you make a mistake/cheat me, I will never ever know. Used Vehicle- Absolutely. That sounds like fun. Make sure to paint a naked picture on the side and give her a name for added fun. 8) Which City- That's up to you guys. You will rarely be there. (unless you screw up and the corp-sec comes at you, but that'll be down the line  Lastly as I mentioned before you will do alot of globe hopping. That means have the fake Ids looking spiffy. You may find that you are repeatedly purchasing equipment on location ornearby rather than bringing along the well loved tricked out assault rifle you bought at Char-gen. But that might change if you do go with some kind of cargo aircraft or something. |
