If we're gonna be globe hopping a lot we might have to kick in to get the team rigger a small helo or cargo plane..... that might get a nat expensive but hey free transport *8-> I'll have a look how much cash I can kick in tonight, ditto with the sheets ugh I hate busy weeks *8->

The battle tac gear is a great question. I 'plan' (being chosen has alot to do with if i am or am not) to make my PC the communications hub. All comm traffic would be monitored by my pc, to free up the rest of the team. I also plan on a jammer (ECM) as part of my kit.
Scenario is this: we run into a patrol, the opening volleys are fired as we move into poasition. I will jam the comms so no word can get out. If this is a deep or long range patrol we'll be safe (or just long gone) by the time the patrol is found overdue. That is just a short justification for my PC concept. [to answer your question i like the idea if the moneys available for it and can route that info as part of my job....if thats the role i fill in the team] Thanks for the answers, you'll have my sheet soon. And thinking of The Betty Boop or just referred to as the Betty for the transport.(my 2 yens worth) |

as for planning on whether you are approved or not, I am not planning on rejecting anyone, unless their character's are obviously utterly unsuited, don't follow the rules, etc.
A Sigint guy is a perfectly legitimate character concept as are the others I've heard so far. |

I've revised my concept somewhat, human combat medic / jack of all trades. I vote for getting a light cargo plane, that way we'll atleast be able to take some of our gear along with us.

one more question:
Whats the device rating max? I ask because the Combat Decker in the Archtypes has an MPCP rating 7. Also the discount for a custom deck is up to 25%, what's your discount rate? |

25% Sounds fair and easier to calculate.
I had never considered that MPCP was equivalent to a device rating. I would like to keep the device rating max at 6 except on a case by case basis which people can run by me. Feel free to have an MPCP at whatever level you can afford, within the limits of resources/avail. edit: on a related note, most merc-style vehicles you will be interested in will be out of your avail reach. for a vehicle meant to be a Team vehicle ignore avail, and approach me about the specific vehicle in question. (for the most part I think things you shouldn't have, you wouldn't be able to afford at char-gen anyway.) |

there's the sky truck at 600,000 +, perhaps a "custom" one from the rigger 3 creation rules. One that uses a jet propeller and is security rating instead of military due to its age. With the used flaw added (its worth .60 deduction), maybe even the lemon quality -.15 but adds 25% to upkeep per level.

Im certainly thinking Battletac, can't remember the avail off hand but pretty sure we can start with it.... just a same tac comp's are outta the range, they're great for the -1tn on SMU.... speaking of which anyone taken that yet, if not I'll build it into my build.... was thinking off taking it anyway, background covers it but the level will really depend on whether I'll be main tactics or not.... usually a rigger or the comms guy would be best for the sensor inputs but s'all good *8->

I wasnt as the comm guy going to put much in as a leader...I'm more of a support role. Comm traffic monitoring and intel gathering. Would relay to the team...maybe we need a clear cut leader someone with leadership and a high tactics skill.
Also I ran into another question: (surprised?) On making my deck with a radio connection can it be upgraded from a standard one? If not I'm looking into headware to handle the comms. |

Hmmm, didn't get as much done in lunch as I'd have hoped but hey ho got a rough out done.... I think I'll be able to stick about 200-300k towards company vehicles/gear etc, depends how expensive gear gets but through the cyber and bio at least *8->
Oh Sicarius, do you have any objections to starting in bio overstress, ie/ over 6 essence index used but under 9 total (atm it's about 5.4 essence used and 3.5 bio)? And yes she be a little twitchy and being doing early morning calithenics to work the kinks out *8-> Oh one other question.... you said only 120 bps or priorities.... guessing that rules out sum to 10 (the modified priorities system where A is 4, B is 3, C is 2, D is 1 and E is 0 and you 'buy' 10 points worth of priorities)..... says the mudane human with the two class E's *8-> Fine with it either way really just asking in case of the lovely lovely 6 extra skill points I can get *8-> [edit]hmmm I smile too much in posts I just realised, ah well *8->[/edit] |

I'd prefer you stick to either build points or priority method.
I am not aware of any rule that says you may not start the game in bio-overstress, versus the obvious rule which keeps you from starting with 0 or negative essence (aka you're already dead) You will suffer the consquences of it, but that's a choice you can make. |

I've done the numbers back and forth and without a clear 800,000 + there is now way for us to get a plane (like an old c130 or such)
I dont just point out problems, i provide possible solutions. 1. In game we are piecing together/fixing one up (Money from chargen goes to this) 2. GM alows us to have one that: a. We stole and its listed as hot (money is still taken out from chargen...price of taking it) b. are a registered 'Martime Security Company' and we still owe on it (Money from chargen reduces cost...a huge F'ing car payment) 3. GM gives us one at 1/2 price after all the mark up values are taken into account (including the -.6 for used vehicle and possible levels in lemon, and for the lemon factor I'm thinking its russian made.) These are the possible ways to 'hook' a transport for us (and some can even be combined...like 1/2 price plus security company...or the fixer upper) GM's call but, I hoped I sparked a warm fire of generosity. |

absolutely. no one has submitted a character sheet yet, and even so for the most part I think it will be the more the merrier.
And as to the languages... no. to get the most bang for your language point buck i'd recommend specializations. and I'll make you guys a deal. You tell me how much your putting towards it, and i'll tell you what you've purchased. :evil: |

I dug out some old SR3 Chars I have. I currently have a merc, a deck/tech specialist/sec specialist, and a sniper/sneaky type. Which wouls be needed the most? Do you use NSRCG and can I submit sheet in that fromat?
