Digital Map Projection for RPGs

Found this online and just got a kick out of it. A lo of work for a varying reward, I would say.

I've had that bookmarked for a while. It's good to have goals, you know? :)

There was a thread about this at the beginning of the year. It's a bit much for my tastes, but it's cool to see people so into what they do.

A friend of mine wants to get a bunch of touchscreens, put them together and create Dillinger's desk from Tron. The way he interfaced with Master Control would make a cool console.

ST:TNG? It's just a laptop and a projector... it's not rocket science, it's just expensive! ;)

Mind you the creator of the setup is also the owner and guy behind all the work for d20srd.com to begin with.. expect the geek factor! ;) Though not public domain, I've taken Jan's online SRD and used it for my own gaming resource pages.. As I'm using stuff that's not open source, it's passwork protected and usable only in my gaming group, but it was the spart that launched my online project. :)

When I finally find a group to game with live again... (hard cause I work nights), I plan to set something like that up too... probalby a 2-5 year project, but at least it's in the works.

Yeah. I hear you on it being a bit hardcore. Personally, I'd be happy with something like what these guys have: Ultimate Gaming Table (Note the little instant messenger consoles. :D)

I aspire to build one soon, as I'm finally back in my old hometown and near my dad's huge wood shop.

See, that one is hardcore. The projector is freakin' brilliant, but really only involves setting up a projector.

The gaming table, though....
