Which makes no sense. Why does she care about Thera? They were the enemy. Blood Wood, on the other hand...

Making Alachia Hecate was a bad idea (it doesn't even totally fit, in retrospect of having read ED. But then, what makes it not fit was written after it was decided, which makes it really weird/bad). Making Hecate Blatavaska was a really bad idea.

 I'm not sure what Alachia calls herself in 2070.

Here's from the Ancient Files on Hecate:

QUOTE
High possibility that this is an immortal, known personally by Harlequin, versed in Horrors and blood magic. Current gossip says: Sheila Blatavska, Alachia or Aina. I think Aina fits better than Alachia, personally, but you decide.

QUOTE
Hecate is a mystery.  The Lone Gunman in Threats believes she is Sheila Blatavaska, the head of the Atlantean Foundation.  Lou Prosperi commented that she was Alachia, who ran the Atlantean Foundation under the guise of Sheila.  Personally, I've always harbored the notion that she is the immortal elf Aina, both for her quips with Harlequin and intimations of her history.  Re-evaluation of all her comments are leaning me towards Alachia, however.

It's not specifically settled, so if you don't like an answer, by all means don't use it.

Well with Shadows of Europe mentioning Ukraine's expansionist tendencies and their 'Friendly Society'...

Ancient History and I have bounced this back and forth a number of times. I believe that the last time we did it, I'm pretty sure that someone official dropped in and confirmed that Alachia = Hecate = Blatavska (can't find the damn post now though :( ). I do know tha AH doesn't really like that answer either.

Lou Prosperi thinks she is Blatavaska, Robert Derie doesn't, both of them have more Shadowrun writing credits than I do... but the really really official answer is this:

QUOTE (Threats @ p. 58)
Individual gamemasters may also determine for themselves the true identity of Sheila Blatavaska.

That's the final final word, and I am pretty sure that FanPro does not intend to invalidate that statement at any time.

Giving a straight canonical answer as to whether Blatavaska is or is not Alachia would potentially invalidate peoples' campaigns, so I don't think it's on the table. Hecate isn't even a member of Jackpoint, so she's unlikely to get a lot of face time in forthcoming publications.

That's cool. It was definitely Lou that I remember making that statement (in Master Shake's thread?).

Speaking of Jackpoint, is there a comprehensive list of members available anywhere?

probably. the freelancers have to know who they can use.

in fact, i think there's a list somewhere on dumpshock with the current list of 'allowed' shadowtalk people.

if i'm remembering right, it was a long ways back though.

Last I checked, that list was protected by an NDA, so I can't release it. Seems silly, but there you go. Peter or Rob could release it, however.

I thought my ears were burning yesterday. That is, indeed, The List. However, as you will note from Runner Havens, local experts and other runners are occaisionally invited to participate and info-dump as well.

Well, I'm using Lou Prosperi's statements that it was intended. Seeing as though he was the FASA Earthdawn line developer, that carries more than a little weight for me.

Besides, even if the Atlantean foundation is run by an elf from the blood wood, I don't beleive she's trying to reconstruct Thera as much as LOOT it.
