Its funny. I've been doing private commissions for gamers for years. But this week, got my very first Shadowrun character to do.
So. Here it is. Thought I would share. And here is KM's Shadowrun troll PC. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Storn...iPetitloRes.jpg |

Wow, that's really good, I like that. It's a realistic, metahuman-looking Troll, rather than a twisted, misshapen lump of a tolkeinesque monstrosity with an anti-aircraft turret in it's arms.
Very well done. |

Woah. Fuck. That's good. That's more or less how I picture trolls. Far better than the usual pumped up neanderthal with the "Me Stoopid" expressions that we usually get. I really like. The only criticism that could be levelled at it is that without another figure in the picture, we don't get a reference for the troll's size, but then you couldn't do that in a commision and you do a really good job of making him look beefy anyway. I like it a lot. Thanks for posting it. It's always good to have more artwork that can actually be used as a reference to players. -K. |

I agree. Without perspective the horns are the only thing making it no-an-ork. Maybe you can't put another character in the picture, but just a standard sized anything could go a long way. Like a trash can or car in the background. Then again, in a context like this, we all know it's a troll, we all know he's tall, so it's okay. Once again, great work. I really like it. I'd like to see more orks and trolls, both male and female, done in this style. |

Not bad. IMO his expression could stand to be flatter and there could stand to be a good deal more dermal deposits, and the guns should probably look pretty small in comparison, but it's a pretty good piece no matter how you slice it.

Overall a very nice pic and a refreshing change from all those elves. I like the way the horns affect the hairline and how the obviously massive pistol looks a bit small in his hands. I do wonder why his skin is so gray and the weapon slung over his back appears to be bent.

What elves?
Pick a book any book. Except for the Orkspliotation section, note what the most common metatype depicted is. For bonus points try to find a female metatype that's not an elf. |

Never said they weren't there, just they're rare. :D Since I don't have 4th, does she look like her face was set on fire and put out with a sledgehammer, like 3rd's Street Shaman. |

Oh yes. One of the best pieces of Shadowrun art yet produced. Not because of the detail and the pose, both of which are executed beautifully, but because it shows an Orc that actually looks like something other than a human with bad posture and glue-on warts. She's a quite muscular but still attractive woman, basically, with the cannon orc traits (small tusks) but not hold-over preconceptions from Certain Other Games. And she's Chinese which is a double plus, as SR has needed more ethnic variety in it for a while. There's been a underlying assumption I've come across too often that orc is equivalent to black and that elves are always white. Other groups seem to be left out entirely. -K. |
