Sedryk returns to his apartment from the Fifteen Trolls Bar quietly he roams the house, collecting what he'll need for the trip. Making sure to grab his "Sidekick", a pair of matched USP's, two of each grenade, two weeks worth of anti coagulant, and his armor. Before leaving the apartment, he loads his backup Walther and sets it on the kitchen counthertop.
The drive to the hanger takes alot longer than it should especially with the stops for gas, smokes and lunch. Upon arriving at the warehouse, Sedryk nods to everyone as he caries two large bags into the hanger. Taking a mintue to find a clear table he begins doing what he always does when he gets nervous, he begins breaking down and cleaning his weapons. After each weapons has been reassembled, he unloads each clip and reloads them. |

Blackjack looks around her surroundings, inspecting them and taking in the scene as she heads over to where Warpath has laid out all of the requested gear.
"Oh! Is this our stuff?" she says to Warpath. |

Warpath nods to Blackjack as he hooks one of the encryption modules into his tranciever and tests it out. "Yeah, some of it's used, but it all looks in good working order." He slides Blackjack one of the small piles of gear. "Know how to work a descent harness?" he asks conversationally.

Having finished with his rituals for the moment, Danny wanders over to the group near the assortment of gear.
"'Pears y'all've bin busy. Any of them there tranceivers in amongst all that stuff?" |

Blackjack looks at the pile of gear that Warpath pushes toward her. Hearing his question, she answers, "No, I've never been climbing before. How do they work?"

Warpath[b] nods to [b]Danny and provides him with one of the comm units and the encryption to go with it. "That should work... test it out in a bit, though quiet like." He goes back to demonstrating how the jump gear works. "You hook this here and then use this..." Silently, he is glad he had a chance to work over the gear a bit before showing anyone how to use it. "The trick is to come down just slow enough not to get hurt."

"Much obliged."
Danny takes the proffered comm gear, then heads back to the cots so he can test it appropriately. |

Blackjack says to Warpath, "Thanks. I would have never figured that out." She grabs her gear and tests out the encryption on her radio, "Testing.. Can you guys hear me?"
Blackjack finds the bathroom and changes her clothes. She exchanges a thermal shirt and pants for her sweats, and then she puts the camo suit on over them. She puts on the boots that are part of the suit and then adjusts the hat onto her head and over her ponytail in the mirror. She then stops to put on her gun holster on the outside of her suit. She puts her sweats into her duffel bag and comes out of the bathroom so that someone else can use it. |

"Six, Base, loud and clear. Base is ready to roll."
The Bison pulls into the hangar, parking behind the tilt-wing. Grendel slides out from the command couch, and heads towards the aircraft. |

"....I'm ready to go." The elf spoke quietly, his words lacked all emotion as they exited his lips.
The trid shutoff and the elf began to suit up. Taking off his shirt and hanging it on an invisible hook, the shirt just hung there eerily in midair. The elf then called for his form fitting armor and his longcoat. Putting the armor on, then his shirt, finally Delacroix called for his gun and holster. The mage grabbed his longcoat on his way out of the apartment. Waiting outside for Grendel to arrive, Delacroix stood under a tree who's branchs bent unaturally to shield Delacroix from the rain. When the two finally arrive to the hanger. Delacroix follows Grendel into the tilt-wing taking the co-pilot seat. "I hope nobody minds me taking shotgun. I'm much more effective when I see things coming." |

Warpath finishes his mission prep and tests his comm unit. "Check, four," the digital voice comes over the mission frequency. The filtering that occurs between brain and radio doing an interesting job of disguising his voice. Meanwhile, the world springs into digital life as his orientation system provides a layout of the aircraft, hangar, and previously viewed surroundings with symbols highlighting the last known positions of various people. "Good to go."

@ Warpath
Grendels Bison slides into the hangar, dripping water from the torrent outside. As the hangar doors close, and the group begins testing there new equipment, you spot something moving along the farside of the wall. It appears to be a multi legged drone scurrying up the crack in the wall where the light is less luminous. This post has been edited by Shadow: Nov 17 2003, 10:58 PM |

Warpath doesn't immediately make a motion in the direction of the drone but instead continues on for a couple of seconds before getting up and heading to the side. Clear of the drone's line of sight, he pulls the tie at his shoulders and a cloak unrolls. As it finishes unrolling, he brings the hood up and swirls the rest around him, the reuthinium polymers quickly hiding his outline. Over the com the digital voice murmers, "Dogbrain on the wall. Investigating. Act natural."
With that he attempts to move closer to the drone and determine what it is up to. |

The drone is of the 8 legged variety, it has a swivel camera and a shotgun mic mounted on it's torso. It is barely larger than a shoe box, painted flat black, and coated with a noise reducing polymer. It currently is at the corner of the wall where it meets the ceiling. It's camera is pointed at the Tilt-wing, however as people talk (anything louder than a subvocal) the camera turns and focuses on them, you also see a small antenna poking out of the back of it. It is 15 meters up from the ground.

Blackjack stands in place and checks over her gear, sliding clips for her gun into the pockets of the camo suit and attaching the radio to her belt. She hears the radio message and continues as though she didn't.
Blackjack looks over her survival gear and shouts, "Hey, you guys don't think they'll mind us hunting, fishing, and mountain climbing out there without permits do they? I know that this vacation idea was kind of short notice." She inspects her survival kit to make sure that all of the essentials are there and then zips up the bag, slinging it over her shoulder. |

How brave you are, little spider, to come into my web.
Grendel relaxed into the command couch, his mind sweeping across the virtual consoles spread out about him. The heavy diesel in the Bison surged to life, fueling the surge of EM energy that exploded through the hangar. Reaching out with the sinuous fingers of his network, he cast a net around the tiny intruder, searching for the telltale triple whisper of the opposing rigger's broadcast. |

( :ooc: attempt Lock on 5 seconds)
The seconds tick by on your clock as you scan the airwaves looking for the intruders signal, it takes only a few seconds for you to locate, and lock onto his signal. ( :ooc: attempt infiltration 6.25 minutes) The hangar stands motionless as Grendel silently locates the intruders network, the drone continues to track the inane conversations in the room. Warpaths message alerts everyone to the danger near. Blackjack and Danny finish loading the plane with the gear, talking about a mythical camping trip that will only take place in there mind. All the while trying to keep it cool and not tip their hand. Jessie stands near the Bison, taking in the information, and trying to spot the drone while silently drawing her pistol and working the action to chamber a round. Sedryk works his way around to the tail of the plane, unlimbering his twin USP pistols, the smart link tells him the safety’s off and there is a round in the pipe. Sitting in the cockpit, eyes closed and head leaning against the back of the chair, Delacroix relaxes, letting his mind rest before the almost certain exertion to come Six tense minutes pass as Grendel’s electronic tendrils work to infiltrate the enemy riggers deck. Abruptly the enemy Riggers sends a message over the net, "your good fragger, very good, too bad." The electronic connection suddenly fills with static as he begins the process of switching his network over to an alternate connection. The drone on the wall stops tracking the current conversation, the camera stays frozen in it's last position. The howling wind can be heard outside, rain beating against the reinforced aluminum hangar. An eerie silence hover in the air, everyone freezes for just a moment... The ear piercing sound of automatic gunfire pierces the silence, high velocity rounds rip through the hangar doors. Aluminum shrapnel fly’s through the air, peppering the tilt-rotor and anyone standing in the open. The doors hold as the small rounds rip through them. The line of rounds smack into the Ares, ricocheting around the hangar. The line follows the wing and then into Grendel’s Bison where they flatten against it's armor. ( :ooc: Everyone give me a initiative check, and declare your action with it.) This post has been edited by Shadow: Nov 18 2003, 09:12 AM |

Blackjack dives for cover with a scream, sobbing, "AAAAHH! Why-hy-hy-y are they shooting at us?" She takes out her gun for protection and tries to see through the holes in the hangar doors who is firing and how many there are.

Warpath, still in stealth mode slides toward the tilt winged aircraft and the stowed gear. His baby is there, of course, sitting loosely against the inside edge. He grabs her and slots a clip of ex-explosive ammunition, the best he can do for drone hunting.
That done, he makes his way quietly toward the side. "Secondary channel, everyone," he indicates over the comm link. The other team has had more than enough time to scan for the primarly frequency, and using it would just be giving away their actions. "Taking a look," he indicates after a few seconds as he ghosts toward the side exit, his weapon under the stealth cloak in such a way as to be readily raised and fired if someone should come into line of fire. |

Grendel's face twists in a vicious smile as he drops the infiltration, letting his hands dance across the EW console. A hammerblow of ECM pulses out over the airwaves, filling the hangar with harsh static.
"Three, Five, move to cover and flank them on the left. Four, see if you can get eyes on our targets. One, if they've got astral, keep 'em off our backs. Weapons free, engage hostile targets as they appear. If you exit through the door on the right, don't enter until I clear you." Pausing a moment, Grendel reaches out into the Bison, his instructions simple and direct. Deploy turret, cover door bearing 190 relative from present position, engage all targets coming through the door that show decreasing range to present position. Having been in situations like this time and time again, Jessie keeps her cool as she quickly moves to take cover behind Grendel's armored Bison. With a thought, her eyes and ears begin to record everything going on. She then peeks around the corner of the Bison to look out towards the doors, trying to locate any possible targets.

Startled out of his inane chatter about 'The Great Outdoors' by the staccato sound of the automatic fire, Danny drops the crate he is about to load onto the plane and dives for cover behind the aircraft's wheel.
Though he hears Grendel's snapped orders through the newly-acquired transceiver, he also realises that Delacroix would have a small problem providing Astral cover from where he is, as Danny had not yet had time to attune his ward to the other mage's aura. "This is Three! Ah got Astral!" Rolling over, Danny rests his back against the plane's large wheel. His eyes close and his head droops against his chest as he projects his consciousness onto the Astral. The glow of his Ward shines right above him, adding to the soft light emanating from many different points of the Plane. Danny takes a long look around the hangar, searching for anything out of place. He then calls one of his Watchers to him and then heads towards the large doors. |

Even before his brain fully understands that there's gun fire, Sedryks wires have him prone on the ground. The next few monent pass slowly as he low crawls over to the table where he left his Smartgun, cursing himself all the way. Upon arriaving at the table, he reaches up, blindly groping for the SMG.
I should have been doing something more constructive than cleaning my guns, like keeping watch. Amidst his searching, Sedryk finds his commlink and slips it into his ear. "This some drek eh?" |
