So, for those of you who run campaigns in settings that have tighter restrictions on guns than you find in the default setting, do things like this happen often?

(Actually, the real reason I'm posting that link, is because I found it via news-aggregation/humor site fark.com, who's own discussion thread about the article features much love for Shadowrun.)

In my Shadowrun games Law enforcement presence and criminal armament are inversely proportional to each other. In the arrens you can easily find street gangs with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons and not a single cop in sight. In the areas where robbers have to resort to sword they'd be cut down by 30mm cannon fire from heavily armed police drones and security turrets.
