This is not just happening to the dumpshock forum cookie, this is happening to all my cookies. Whenever I shutdown my computer, they all get deleted. Started sometime today. I think it is some malicious code that a server put into my computer. Can anyone direct me on how I can fix this? BTW: All my internet settings seem to have been changed and when I change them, they go back to the previous settings when I shut down my computer too.

HELP! Please refrain form suggesting I reinstall windows. That always bugs me when people say that before exploring other options. If I need to, I will.

I am using Windows XP home edition with a cable connection.

A check for spyware and suchlike would be the first thing I would suggest, along with checking to ensure that you or someone else hasn't set your browser to delete cookies when closing the browser. :)

Good suggestion. Shortly after I made this thread, I downloaded and ran adaware to remove all spyware. I also ran Mcafe virus scan. Unfortunately, none of these things worked. I think my registry was hacked because I cannot keep "remove all files from the temporary internet files folder when the browser is closed" checkbox checked. Everytime I shutdown or restart, that checkbox becomes selected again.

I might have to reinstall windows to fix the registry. Arg! Of course this wont keep it from happening again. :please: sigh

Oh yeah. Sorry about the typo.
