Howdy!
Have been with SR since SR1, and like the new SR4. I do however have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to find the answers to. 1) What would be appropriate skills for a performing arts style of character? There is no active skills like Perform, Play Instrument or the like that I've seen... or anything like Dance either. Any suggestions on how to handle this? 2) Can a commlink be integral to a cyberear? The ear has a capacity, and the commlink can take up capacity.... Those are the two biggies for now.... TC |

Don't have access to my book right now, but here goes:
1. Far as I know, I think Artisan is the catch-all. 2. I don't believe so. I'm pretty sure that if you want a cyber-commlink, you have to get the headware. |

1) Artisan, with appropriate specialization will cover most artistic skills. You may ask your GM about using atheletics or social skills to represent dacing and acting, respectively.
2) As far as I know, this is kosher. But consult your GM. |

1)Dancing is a specialisation of gymnastics as per p114 in the BBB. I'd treat play instrument as a knowledge skill (as it's a BG thing with no rules related effect).
2) I'd allow it I've allowed commlinks in cyber arms so why not ears. |

As far as I know:
capacity ratings(ears, eyes) != capacity ratings(sensors) != capacity ratings(cyberlimbs) (Not that I like it . . .) So the answer is no. |

2. Earware Capacity from the table on page 333 <> Bodyware Capacity table on page 334 <> Cyberlimb Capacity on Page 336 <. Eyeware Capacity p. 332
However, a commlink does use 2 Cyberlimb capacity, see page 333 Headware, so it can be put into a cyberlimb. |

P330 states that headware with a cap rating can be fitted into cyberlimbs. I just think a commlink in the makes some sort of sense. Maybe double the capacity cost?

capacity(headware) == capacity(cyberlimbs)
I would have loved to have 1 capacity rating for everything, though . . . streamlining and such. |

Well, that was quick. :)
Seems according to the descriptions of the specializations that Gymnastics (Dance) and Artisan (Play Keyboard) are what I was looking for. There does seem to be a mix of opinion on the Cyberear Commlink though, So I think I'll have to check with my GM. :) TC |
