Smiles and Nods to the spirit.
Thank you spirit. You have done well. Just a little longer and you are free. Right, everyone. There is water 8 kilometers away. Our first destination should be there. Waddya say Mike? |

Breathing a sigh of relief under his breath as Hood controls the spirit and that it returns with directions to safe water. In the meantime the sled and supplies are readied.
Weel it looks like we have some time before full sun up drives us into cover so I'd say we start out on the trek unless anyone has any objections? We're going to have to move on sooner or later to get there. Well let's get that map saved and do this the old fashioned way with compass and landmarks. and smiles around the group Best to keep their morale up.... hope that's what I'm doing.... well at least they look confident |

The team moves on, continuing north west. You set of at appx 11 am, after binding the spirit. The water is reached at roughly noon. The water source is only a small pool of water, about 2 feet across. It's in a rock crevasse shielded from the sun.
Floren : well it isn't much in way of water, but the cover will be welcome. Seeing as at the moment we've got all the water we can carry, I suggest we settle in here until about 5 then move on. Hood's shown that his spirit can find us water, so hopefully it can do it again. And hopefully more. So we move with what we've got, and resupply when we start to run low. |

Good idea. Lets rest here till the sun begins to set. But there is one problem. This spirit is doing everything it can to be free. Its using up its services faster then a keg in a pub. I may have to summon a diffrent one. I'd just re bind this one, but I promised it I wouldnt. And the last thing I want is a pissed off spirit out here.
Spends the next few minutes helping everyone take their things under the rock. As soon as its done, settle in for the day. |

Gratefully parking the sled under the overhang and setting the handles down after his rotation on dragging it, Michael handed around a canteen of water and sat carefully down in the shade. Phew and I thought I'd stayed at least fairly in shape with the swimming and light weights.... Ah well, hindsight's 20/20 of course.... and I'm sure I'll be fitter at the end of the trek.... if it doesn't kill me....
Looking over the rest of the team and then thinking that some warning would be good while they were so exposed he closed his eyes to center his thoughts and concentrated for a short while letting his mind expand and become sensitive to faint, and not so faint, disturbances that magic effects made on the astral plane. |

Dr Evan Michaels Agreed Hood, hostile spirits is the last thing that we need out here. Our resting period would be perfect for binding a spirit if binding is what you need. Is a summoning not sufficent to get the services you need from the spirit to find the water?
Callidus Not going to bother having you do assensing. YOu're only 5k from wehre the mana storm was so there's still a bunch of "run noff" back ground count. BC in the area is still at 2. Nothing else magical ATM. Dr Patrick rubs her feet for a while. Dr Floren pulls his hat over his head, saying he's going to get a bit of a nap, so that he'll be sharp tonight. Dr Michaels agrees and says that he'll keep a watch for now unless tthere's any objections. |

Dropping the detection spell with a slight wince and opening his eyes again to the shade cervasse Michael looks around the group and nods to the idea of binding the spirit now rather than later. I probably should follow Dr. Floren's example and get a cat nap after the irregular sleep from the last few days and the early mornings. Better check how everyone is first though.
Sounds like the right idea to get the summoning done now so you'd get a chance to rest off any feedback. And how's everyone holding up so far? I should be able to erect a mana barrier over us while I'm awake, although it won't move with us and might be fairly noticable on the astral, should prevent spell at least to a decent degree though. I'll leave that choice up to Hood and Dr. Floren as to whether that would bring more harm than good though. Otherwise I think I'll try to catch whatever sleep I can, we'll need to rotate the watches too so everyone gets some rest as well. So if you want to wake me Evan I'll take second unless anyone else fancy it. and smiles around Let me know if you pick up any aches and pains and I'll see what I can do to smooth them away and wiggles his gloved fingers in the way someone imitating magic would. |

some general smiles around the temporary "camp" . Floren says not to worry about the mana barrier and just get some rest. With someone awake to watch for the signs, we should have a bit more warning against any mana storms. We'll all need to be sharp come night fall. So get your rest.

The spirit bound, the group rests until sundown, and sets out, still heading North east. Dr Patrick has checked the coordiantes again with the sat uplink checking the GPS. The topographical map downloaded onto a commlink has helped make sure you stick to course using landmarks.
The going is slow, seeing as no one has night vision. The land around you is scrub plains, ligh vegetation, mostly grass about calve to knee height, with trees well sapced out. THe desert dry desert groud has given way to grass plains, heavy with rocks. Some are just small boulders, ranging up to small canyons. Throughout the night, creatures are seen moving about. Some are simple herbivores, others, moving low in the grass, more menacing. Nothing approaches to close however. The night is long and tiring, and everyone is more than ready for camp by the time the sun comes up. Dr Michaels: Do we press on until noon, or try to find a place to camp now? Floren: I suggest we move on for a wihle longer, start looking for shelter around 10.How's everyone else? Patrick:I'm tired, but I can go longer if we need to. She gives a tired smile, but has been keeping pace fine so far. |

By dawn, Michael is almost dreaming of the seeing the sun rise as it means the camp time is coming soon, but as it it rises he knows that they need to keep going if they are capable for at least a while longer.
The night was harder than I expected.... didn't think there'd be so many animals out in such an inhospitable area.... although considering this is their home I shouldn't be, hell there's life in far worse places.... man my feet hurt.... thought lowlight would have help more when travelling, but there wasn't even enough starlight.... my feet really hurt.... and thermo was next to useless.... tripping over rocks with it on.... thirsty too.... well, push on and we'll get to the established camp sooner.... Well as much as I'd like to stop now, we should keep going and stick to our schedule. I'll keep going until it's time to stop, just not used to the distances and he smiles to Dr. Patrick How about we keep pace with each other and let the outdoorly active people tell us when to stop? Always thought I kept in shape. |

I think we can keep going until 10 like Floren said. But if we find a good shelter before then, then we should take it. Never know when we're gonna find a safe spot to rest in again.
Hood, now having Alexander tail close behind him, in case any unkown predators decide to sneak up behind the group. Man, Im about 2 seconds from conjuring Greiver, at least that way, Alexander would have some aid, and I definetly wouldnt have to worry. I geuss Ill wait though. Dont want too much trouble just yet. |

Roll Survival for finding a good spot for camp.
SinN, having your ally tail behind in case of any tracking predators is a good idea. I'll add that in for your Exp tally. |

Camp is made again, and everyone sets down for rest. It's not the best spot you can find. Just some shade beneath a rather sparce tree. But it's shade. Working on establishing a routine, Floren sets about being on guard duty while Patrick gets out there SatLink gear, and Michaels helps get the ‘sled’ set and provisions laid out for everyone. Everyone is tired so there’s little chit chat.
Floren to Hood: Neither of us got any rest yesterday, so I think Evan is taking the watch today so we can get some rest. Dr Patrick moves over to Dr Holder. Quietly: I jsut wanted you to know that I think you're doing a good job. We all do. It's a lot to ask of you to be in charge of a group like this, especially with a shadowrunner. And no one could have anticipated a mana storm like that. I just don't want you to get oyur spirits down. She smiles, a tired look in her eyes. |

Hood to Floren: Good Idea. We'll rest, and Ill ask if they want Alexander to aid them in standin guard. That way they'll be almost completely aware of their soroundings. Whatever They cant see, Alex will. Ive got another spirit on hand, but I think it best to wait for a "special occasion" to pull him out, he's....powerful. For lack of better word.
Hood now, resting his head on what was possibly a shirt, now a pillow. Thinks a bit about the situation. Decides to inform Bahumat of whats happened so far. Master, all is well. Or as well as could be hoped. We've taken camp for the day, and me and Dr. Floren are resting, since he was on guard duty, and I was conjuring and binding all day yesterday, and havent slept since. Foolish for me to risk it, I know, but we're left with little choice. Anyway, I tokk your advice on the Earth spirit and it worked great. I have Greaver on hand just in case a spirit gets out of control when it's released. You never know how strong they really are, eh? Ok then, with that that said, I'm going to get some sleep. Take care |

Replying to Dr. Patrick equally quietly as a slight blush spreads over his cheeks I really appreciate that, Elza, I'll keep my spirits up. and with an tired smile Anyway we've got to stick together with all these athletic types running about with us.
Just hope I can keep up myself.... feels like I've walked for Seattle to Denver already.... heh, guess I should have spent more time in the gym back home, better remember that when I get back.... but there's always something more interesting to do isn't there? |

Floren mostly nods sleepily in response, and mumbles out something that sougns like "Go Pan" which probaly meant "good plan", and is rather promptly asleep. Must be ex-military or something.
Patrick:You're welcome. Now get some rest. The "athletic types" will no doubt have us moving again soon. Dr Patrick nustels up against the trunk of the small tree and is also asleep within a few minutes. Dr Michaels, standing along side a tall glowing angel (or something) stands guard, making a long, slow ciruit, about 40 feet away from the camp, so as not to disturb the sleepers. To Hood: Sometimes it is out foolish actions that define us. SOmetimes because of their foolishness, and sometimes because of the virute behind their intent. As to your elemental, you already know that the spirits here dislike summoing. They are so because of the ill treatment they have received from metahumanity since their reawakening from the Dreamtime. It would do them well to have an example of a metahuman that dealt fairly with them. Be honest of your intent, and true to your word. Perhaps the next fellow that summons that spirit will have a more pleasant experiance. Time passes slowly under the hot sun. Sleep deprivation seems to do wonders for learning to sleep on uncomfortable ground though. |

Nothing more happens during the dull sleep filled oven of the day. Soon enough, or not soon enough, the sun is descending, and Dr Michaels is waking everyone to move on.
Water is dispersed, and a small dinner of rations is dispersed, then you're off again into the wild black yonder. New moons are no good for a mood. |

The walk is long, but the setting sun is taking some of the bite out of the day. More scrub with light wood and heavy rocks is the norm for this area. Lots of things to twist an ankle on. The going is slow with the wheeled sled, but it’s better than leaving the water behind.

Dr Holder (having failed his perception test) is walking trying to keep a regular pace, stepping over and around small logs. Before he can react, he hears a sharp hiss, the sound of metal sliding along vinyl, and the crack of gunfire.
[ Spoiler ] Hood, spotting movement at Dr Holder's foot, reacts almost instantly to the danger. Before anyone else has a chance to even spot it, Hood has seen the Brown Snake at Holder's foot, drawn and fired a single shot before the snake had a chance to strike. The snake gets blasted in half by the high caliber round, falling to the ground, still twitching from nerves. The rest of the group simply stands and stares. Floren is the first to speak. Floren:Excellent shot. I'd only seen it as you drew. Floren steps over an examines the snakes body. A Brown snake. Pretty common in this part of Australia. And poisonous. Very poisonous. Hard to tell in the dark if this is the awakened varient. More poisonous. You're very lucky Dr Holder. Looking up at Hood Good shot. Dr Floren gets up and starts ulling the "sled" again, giving Dr Holder a break. |

Dr Holder, make your test vs Combat Paralysis (will thresh hold 2) to see if it kicks in (getting the shakes, etc). Rolling to see if it applies here since this the first sign of "combat" you've ever had, and you have the flaw.
