Dang - Sorry to hear that as well. I'll pull your character out of the game soon and put him in a freezer... err.. I mean on ice... err.. something like that in case you get things worked in the next few months.

Best of luck.

Redjack i thought of a place for all the runners to meet i thought my character would know of atleast a few places around crime mall that would suffice for meeting up i found a place called forbidden city in seattle WA i would assume that it still exists i hope anyways if it doesnt can you recommend a place. i tried to find a few places around where we met so no one had to ride or drive to far to get there.

Everyone

Both teams have completed the first objective successfully, negotiating a price with their Johnson. Please take 1 Karma for this success. Additional role-playing Karma may appear to you in a PM infrequently on an individual basis as well.

Redjack

I'm going to summon and bind a couple of elementals. One Air Force 3 and one Water Force 3. The total time it'll take to summon and bind will be about six hours so I don't want to start doing that until we figure out when we're going to meet, which we won't know until our transport people figure out how long it'll take to travel wherever the hell it is we're going.

Since I've got a map co-ordinate can I just ask my GPS commlink doohickey to tell me how many miles away it is in a straight line or do I need to do computer search stuff to accomplish that? I've never even worked GPS in real life so I don't know if I'm asking a stupid question or not but it will help me get an idea how long it'll take to get where we're going.

You can link to this roll at
http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=944754

Maybe that'll help give me an estimate for how long it'll take us to get where we're going via van and foot.

Foot transport through the Tir wilderness?

Well, it's what Ms Johnson said. And it's certainly easier to manage without getting picked up by a border patrol than driving in there... ;)

Bye
Thanee

P.S. When you (the more general you ;)) use invisiblecastle, try this next time... after making a roll, make a Find for rolls from 'googlebot'. Kinda creepy! ;)

What you are asking for is a relatively simple thing, given the right understanding of programs and such. A Data Search + Browse with a threshold of 2 will give you the information. Defaulting for software is not to the attribute, but rather to which ever one of the two you have. (ergo: Punching someone is Agility + Martial Arts, defaulting to Agility only if you have no Martial Arts skill... So Matrix Searching is Data Search + Browse, defaulting to which ever you have). I think of the example of a person who can use a VCR but can't seem to figure out how to set the time.. Just because a VCR is in nearly every house, that doesn't mean people have developed skills to actually make use more than the most basic of features.
NOTE: A mapsoft can replace either missing component of this search.

Having neither, your character knows he needs to buy to some software to figure this out.

Sometimes good old fashion experience is a viable substitute for all that fancy software. You are aware of the routes that I presented to Thanee's character, though she has experience actually traveling those routes (due to her history) that Cynic does not.
The distance to the route is ~120 miles to the south.

Cool. I'll be waiting to see this occur IC.

That's true. On the plus side you have more time to think about a good response. And you can always look at the older posts (kinda like an archive) to check back about some specifics. :)

yeah i am starting to like the whole archive thing, i also need to start thinking about my responses more because i make minor mistakes like names and small details about what im doing.

At the same time though i have to pace myself so not to get ahead of others and give them time to repost and keep up time with Redjack and the other players.

You can also edit something later (I often do that, too, i.e. when I noticed the location was wrong in the headline since I just copied it from the post before, like I did earlier ;)).

yeah i had to do that a few times actually /shrug. i am getting the feel for it though and i am really enjoying playing this way it will be nice to start more runs as i get better also when im in the UK i wont be able to find players for PnP play so this will probably be my only interaction with SR for the next two or more years.

Hey guys, maybe I'm being ignorant, but instead of renting a vehicle why don't we just steal one? I mean that way if we need to ditch it we're not out the money and it shouldn't lead back to us. We're only going to have the vehicle for a day so if we pick the right vehicle the theft might not even be noticed before we're back, and all we'd have to do is dump the tracing signal on the car and we're set.

If I'm missing something obvious please let me know but we are criminals after all, we ought to act like it. :)

being in the state of mind in the 21st century now and a ganger in 2060 something no thats something that would be plausible but being shadowrunners like we are the less attention the better we stay hidden. if we were to steal a vehicle then what are the chances of it being reported and if it is, who's is it are they important do they have something rigged in it more then just a simple tracking device, im not trying to sound mean or harp trust me im just trying to set a mind set for the fact that if we steal something rather then rent from a fixer or have a face if we had one talk our way into renting one then we are left with a clean slat wether or not we get caught or have to ditch the rented ride. besides we are guaranteed that the ride we rent from a dealership or a fixer is clean and we wont be stopped for no signal on the car or suspicion of it looking like a ride that was stolen earlier that night. am i making any sense?

Team #1:
I don't see any actions yet that would require a GM response. It still appears that Greer, Rex and Whisper are in the meeting room and Jake is in the van cleaning up and waiting for the team. Let me know if you need anything from me.

It's kind of an inconvenience to stop by the bathroom, ya know. So, can we just use saliva and call it good?
