I can ST my ass off and would be willing to dedicate a good amount of time to a game of 4-6 runners.
But I have NO books. All I have is what is in my head and NSCRG. So I would need help, and honest players. I would be more than willing to team ST with another person, putting two heads together in a way that is handled so much better in PBP or PBEM. I would like to see if people would be interested in a game like this, or if anyone thinks that I would just be getting in over my head. I do have the chance to get at least the core book shortly. Other feedback would be... the format of preference. I can't do tabletop, so I can handle Chat, Play by post, or Pbem. I am most comfortable with a play by post story format. Please anyone interested let me know your thoughts. |

What you might try and do is try running or getting involved with one of the Open IC threads. They are almost purely role-playing, with little to no mechanics involved. Might work out well for you since you don't have the books available.

Well now I have some books available. Enough to make me confident in going through with this.

Let me know what books are available for our use, and I'll see what I can think up. Also, a good theme of the game would be wonderful. Makes for the character's background to make sense in the setting.
Oh, and, what system should we use to make the characters? If it's anything other than Priority, make sure you tell us how many points we get for creation. If you don't know anything other than Priority, don't worry about it. ;p |

PM me here on dumpshock or email me at enddreamer@netscape.net
So far I have one character concept submitted. Right now, I have access to MITS, MM, 3rd core, Rigger 3 and the companion. The rules for chargen are as follows. You can use any chargen method you want. But I have to be able to recrate the character using standard settings in NSCRG, anything that dosn't fit into the program has to be approved and justfied to me. My rules for chargen are simple, if you can justify it (with rules/logic/common sense) to me then you will probably get away with it. Just remeber, standard, baseline, recreateable characters, I don't mind allowing a few nifties and shiney things, but I don't want to see albino gnome shapeshifters or anything absurd. Currently the team as a doctor w/clinic for a PC. The theme of the game, for the most part will be the movement of certain commodities in/out of the metroplex. Or at least that is where it is going to start. So in other words, this is a smuggler's game. Right now it's looking like it is going to revolve in some part around the perfectly legal clinic that Cursedsoul is running. But this may change as I get more ideas. I don't really know any of you, so I don't quite know how to cater to you as players. I'm sure it will work out. Regardless, PM/email me and lets start throwing ideas around. WED night I will be trying to set up a chat on openrpg to discuss the game/chargen. BTW I am on PST and can handle daily downtimes/ideas/plans and such. I plan on trying to have 1-2 actual games a week, currently on OpenRPG. Games will last as long as they can. My availability is sporadic, I can run the chat games on any night my wife works and on weekends. I am open to dealing with anyone who can't match my scheadule through email. Meaning you don't have to be able to commit to every game to join us. I will do my best however to make myself available to the majority of the group as needed. If the chat system dosn't work I will change formats, proably to boards where people will be able to float in an out at thier own pace. This is all highly experimental to me. |

What are your rules for making custom vehicles? Is that ok, or should we use basic stuff from R3 and customize them?

I forgot how heavily dependent I was on the CC before I journeyed into making this character.

Rigged vehichles have to make sense, and you have to have the abbilty to do the work, or the money to pay someone else to do it. Shop time is not cheap. I would prefer starting players limit themselves to 1 major custom vehichle but I will let that slide...

I'm attempting to get a weapon focus, but it (NSRCG) won't allow it because I cannot have any spell points whatsoever. I've tried Priority, Points, and BeCKS, none of which work.

I was going to put together a Rigger for this, but I just don't know that I have the time for a 5th game. Count me out for now and if work slows down a bit, maybe I'll join then.

I will have Aim open and my email also for those who can't make it in openrpg. My AIM is: honorandvision My email is: Enddreamer@netscape.net It will be open forum with a wrapup of chargen and prelude game (if we all have the time) I will be availabe from 6:00pm till 9:00pm on openrpg. There will be a possiable follow up on Friday night at the same times in the same place. For those haveing trouble with NSCRG. You don't have to use NSCRG... I just have to be able to recreate the character there. You can send the character to me VIA email in any readable format you wish. |

Meh... I don't like openRPG because of the fact that you have to be there. PBP is better only because people can post at their leisure and aren't constrained by work/school/sleep.
However, if the issue about the PhysAd I'm making is resolved, I'll get right on that. |

PBP also runs the risk of getting bogged down waiting for runnerA to respond to the GM, causing problems with RunnersB and C because runnerA is killing the power to the building/distracting the guards/hacking the rigged security/etc, or the GM is dilatory in posting, slowing everything up...
In a format where you HAVE to be there at least you know who's there and who isn't. I've never played on OpenRPG (need to find it and download it....) so this is based on my IRL experience (however little it may be) vs my previous online games. I prefer PBP myself since I can be on damn near all the time, thus I can constantly check to see if I need to do anything in game. Ah, the joys of owning two computers. I get like 98% control over this one. That, coupled with no life makes me the <deep booming voice> POTENTIALLY ULTIMATE GAMER <fades into background> |

One question...
If the vote came out as using Dumpshock, why use EZBoard instead? |
