This technology has been in use for along time, particularly in psychological therapy and helping people with brain injuries recover. They are glorified EEK machines that read the brainwave patterns. The better one gets at controlling those, the better the control over the "game." Still, it will be interesting to see if this catches on.

The main use of this technology i know about is as part of a treatment for hyperactive kids. It helps increasing their concentration level and maintaining it for longer period. It was a matter of time before the game industry tried to adapt it to mainstream gaming...

I love the fact that children and gamers with too much imagination score higher scores than the average skeptic adult.
