OOC: Heresy and Hearsay, The continuing Templar hunt Options

Hey folks--

This will be for OOC and character conversion notes.

Switching over from SR3 to SR4, build at 450 BP plus by my count 230 accrued karma. (The 100 base from Bounty Hunting, plus 1 per week through Chasing the Prize, Balance Due and starting into Heresy.)

General guidelines are as follows:
When going from the BP, standard availability rules apply. If a flaw or edge hasn't been converted from SR3 to SR4, talk to me and we can work out the new value.

For the advancement, you have 80,000 :nuyen: to spend along with your karma. Gear here should be justified by your history and character background, but the availability caps are looser.

I'm waiting on finalized characters from everyone with karma expenditures as well as the Mind Probe and questions asked of Ulick. Once I have those wrapped up we will get started.

As a final deadline, all tinkering must stop by April 6. That's next Friday. If the materials come in before then, I will get the IC thread going faster.

Edana is finalized, though I just realized, I still need to pick her spells, she'll have more in SR4 than in SR3.

You have as many as you want, the only limitation is how long you question him before handing him over to the elves' handler.

I'd recommend "table-talking" a bit. That way other perspectives (like RedJack) can help look at the information and figure out.

1.) Why was he trying to silence Bishop?
Bishop left the order. The only way that is done is through death...Ulick was assigned to ensure that Bishop died.

2.) What are the church's current plans and goals here in Seattle?
Ulick's current objectives were the execution of several individuals, recruitment of young hopeful candidates to be sent to Rome, and securing of financial and political objectives within the city.

3.) Who are his contacts within the Templars here in Seattle?
Monsigneur Leng and Father Roberts are the only two known Templars in Seattle.

4.) The names of any known Templar sympathizers, contacts, informers, etc here in Seattle.
The Catholic Church, specific IRA members, several vagrants, members of Humans First, Alamo 2000, and the OU.

5.) What does he know about Edana and her parents?
Edana is believed to be a member of an awakened terrorist group with plans to destroy the Church. Her parents, also members, were executed several years ago and their deaths covered up to be an automobile accident. She has a soft spot for Storm spirits, the Great Hunt, and trash she call music. Generally accompanied by a hound, Herne who is believed to be an enslaved creature of the Great Hunt.

6.) What is a specific secret that could come out that would be very uncomfortable for the Templars?

Several specific incidents of blackmail, extortion and murder.

7.) What are the areas where the Templar organization is most vulnerable? How might that be exploited?

Weakness of humanity and the presence of original sin. Proper temptation and exploitation of the human condition.

8.) How might the Templars best be assaulted by a small, motivated group? What are the best tactics?

There have been no successful attempts at destroying the order by small groups. Reference Phillip IV, Papal palace of Avignon and Clement V

Ulick receives his orders directly from the Angels and God.

Who are the Templar luminaries?
Leonardo, Inazi Aneki, Holly Brighton amongst others

Where/How/Why are the Templars vulnerable? How could that be exploited?

None have currently been identified, but it is a part of his duties.

Securing financial and political backing within Seattle for the Church. Currently focused on land grants for building new churches.

Priests within the Archdiocese, they are not field agents. (Contact info given)

The Heirs of Eirias

Just his personal testimony.

7. Who are the Angels? How do they appear? (follow up, like the one that came for Bishop?)
They are like the one that came for Bishop, though they are not always summoned. The angels are the messengers of God who impart wisdom upon his true believers and followers. They take many forms, when wrathful much as you saw them as they attacked Bishop, when in peace a myriad of disguises can be used from a gentle wind upon one's back to a burning bush.

Based on the information we have, what are people's suggestions about our path at this point?

My thoughts are to visit Father Roberts or Mon. Leng and gather similar information (since they're here in Seattle), which will allow us to move up the chain to bigger fish. Any other thoughts?

@Redjack:

The easiest way to get past the paranoia issue with this particular group is to have some personal beef with the Templars, and to know either Doren (unlikely if you're not an elf) or Edana's contacts. At this point I think either of those vouching for you would be acceptable ;D
