Feeling a bit ignored here, but nevermind since Bang got a good roll.

Casey's Roll for knowledge of The Grindhouse
Knowledge: Gangs - 2 + Intu 4 = 6 (1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=2, 1d6=2, 1d6=6) Sadly, only one hit... slightly below average, and only enough to get her some general knowledge.

@Toivoton: I'm pretty sure you're going to be needed fairly soon. Once we've all got our info on the Grindhouse, we're probably going to do a quick and dirty tactics consult. I'm hoping we've done a bit of an info dump to exchange knowledge, although we can blur the details in the "catchup" posts.

I'm going to wait a tiny bit before my next post... probably until Lord Imp has told me what tiny little fragment Casey's pulled on the Grindhouse.

See y'all soon,
-Syber'

I didn't mean that I was feeling useless. I told you Walker is a bit of a one trick pony.

I meant that he was outside looking at the prints outside the window when Bang came to ask him to go to the Stuffer Shack and he has tried to see if he can see some more cameras.

Asked imp 3 times and no response. That's why I am feeling a bit ignored, but since I think the rest of the cameras wouldn't give anything useful (since it's doubtful they would be better then the one in the SS) and since Bang got a good roll looking at the prints, I don't think it matters that I got ignored.

Wonder if I should add a "things that I want answered" "signature" in my OOC posts...

I think an info dump is unnecessary since it would be weird if it wouldn't be standard protocol to update a casefile constantly when you find something. (which would be sort of like a wiki) All you would need is to check it to see what people have found.

Sorry man. I don't know how I could have missed those. You've found all the cameras that look like they would be directly pertenant to the scene. Hunting further up and down the block would likely be a waste of your time but if you want you could request a few uniforms to canvas the neighborhood to try and help track the bulldogs route but that would take several hours and a lot of the buisnesses are closed for the evening.

np - as I said it didn't matter since Bang got that good roll.

Did Tolstov get anything from gridguide?

Walker won't ask the uniforms to canvas anything until he has no other options. So he waits for The Grindhouse and the gridguide thingy.

Tolstov has put in a request with the Seattle Department of Roadways for their records. It's after hours though so you're not likely to get anything until tommorow at the earliest.

Heads up here - I'm begging you for a ruling on "Called Shot: Kneecap". Intent is to incapacitate without killing with a ranged weapon. So I know how to do the modifiers in advance for you, how would you rule on this? It's probably a common "Casey" tactic, for times when she wants someone out of the fight, but not dead.

See y'all later!

Casting Increase reflexes into a sustaining focus. Force 4: (Spellcasting 6, Magic 7, Focus 2 = 15 dice)
1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=4, 1d6=4, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=6, 1d6=2, 1d6=2, 1d6=1, 1d6=3, 1d6=1 = 4 hits
Drain. DV4: (Cha 7, WP 5, FC 1 = 13 dice)
1d6=4, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=3, 1d6=2, 1d6=2 = 6 hits

== +3 init, +3 passes, 0 drain

Isn't kneecap sort of hard to repair? Wouldn't Called Shot: Leg be better? (Or just using S&S, but I suspect thats for flawor..)

I think Increase Reflexes and Improved ability are always on and you need to use a free action befere hitting to use inertia strike.

Ah OK Thanks Toivoton. Would you know what I'm rolling for Inertia Strike?

@Lord Imp: A few Legal questions, I realize Bang would not ask these. But I'm genuinely curious.

1. Does Haeffner's drones tailling the kids back to the Grindhouse count as probable cause?
2. How does the raid procced? Bang will be hitting the door first, so does he need to announce himself ie *pound* *pound* *pound* "Firewatch open da door!"
3. How much force is Bang allowed to use? Bang and I have no desire to be called before IAB. (Internal Affairs Bureau)
4. Is Bang aware of all this?

one thing I'd like to point out before we get too far into organizing a military strike on a bar, as much as I approve :love: :P Is that you're gonna need a reason to take these guys in. 2070 is pretty totalitarian, but "looking shifty" still isn't an excuse to detain someone never mind execute a no knock warrent on a place of buisness.

YES.

/agree

And Haeffner's background makes her extra sensitive to how the organization plays in the public eye.

not really, you could probably justify it but it would take one helluva roll on a police proceedures test to find a loophole, and it could get ugly.

QUOTE

If you go in without a warrent you'd better announce yourself, otherwise it will be determined by the warrent.

QUOTE

Again, it depends on the warrent. If you go in right now I'd definatly lay the kid gloves on thick.

QUOTE
4. Is Bang aware of all this?

For the most part I'd say yes. It's mostly up to you but if it were me playing him I'd say he has a pretty good idea of the various force levels, he'd probably get a bit confused as to the exact legal ramifications of a warrent though.

dont have my book right handy to see if there is a specific rule for called shots so off the cuff I'd say

-2 die roll modifier
if you do [body] damage or better, the target is incapacitated. Anything that has pain resisting cyberware or adept abilities adds one box to their effective body.

Armour still protects as nomal, since it's an abstract gauge of protection.

Ah right.. forgot that we prolly need a warrant for something like this. Well umm.. crap..

Well we could check if they have a sin?

Meriss: You are rolling normally, but you add your str/2(round down) to the damage to see if the target is knocked down. (things are knocked down when the damage from one attack is over their body)

I don't think you need a reason to pull someone over. And I don't think it would normally be that bad to arrest 3 lowlifes for a murder investigation, but Knight Errant is trying to look good.

Besides now that I think of it, raiding a bar military style without a warrent would likely get you trouble even in the 'Star that normally isn't quite as strict on following protocol...

Hard to switch your brain to copmode when you are planning to kidnap and torture someones family to get her to cooperate in another game..

I think the warrant we're requesting at this point is one directed towards
"John Doe, John Doe, John Doe, and accomplices" as "suspects or material witnesses in an ongoing murder investigation."

That'll give us the power to do what we need, without making the 'Watch look bad. Plus, if things go pear-shaped, we also have the power of the warrant to extend things to whomever interferes.

Casey's "Low Life" disguise roll: Disguise:4+Intu 4+Facial Scuplting 2+Improved Ability 2=12 (1d6=2, 1d6=2, 1d6=3, 1d6=3, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=2, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=3) Eek! A mere 2 hits! Still, it should do the job...

Sounds good to me Syber. What about pulling their SIN's and having Tolstov run a Background check?

@Lord Imp: More Questions
1. I called Slaughter a while back, when might he be calling me with the info he gathered? Also I thought I'd leave the price of the info up to you. But how much is he charging Bang?

A comment: As a long time CSI and other crime dramas watcher, I say you did excellent on your coroners report. (I realize the real thing is way more wordy but for someone who's not a fan you did great)

Not really. I'll just get Walker to jump out the same time you do so that you will have backup from the start. Would have suggested that I'd take Bang too, but Walker is pleased that he didn't need to. I would have suggested that Bang and Walker are dropped off and Haeffner throws Casey out since a big troll should have a .. discouraging effect there if it got ugly for some reason.
