Our group was playing the other night. We're all on-and-off-again SR players, for the most part, and we're each and every one of us very rusty. :)
A question came up during the session: A magician casts Increase Reflexes and ends up getting another action phase. At the beginning of his second action phase, the magician drops the sustained spell as a free action. Our question: does the magician's initiative pass end then and there, or can they perform their standard set of actions? Thanks in advance! |

Once they stop sustaining a spell, mages don't get any further benefit from it - simple logic. So yes, his actions would end then and there.

First of all if the magician has one pass and uses it to cast Increased Reflexes it does not take affect until the next time initiative is calculated.
When he drops the spell it imidiatly takes affect. So he would not get to complete the pass. If it was important to complete the pass drop IR at the end, if he's trying to drop the spell first to avoid the -2 dice then he can't do that. |
