Ok I thinking of designing a weapon with two barrels in a over and under configuration.
Questions for those here 1. If both barrels are fired at the same time what would you consider the most correct recoil mods?(from the information given by Lagomorph firing two barrels of the Elephant gun, it would be +1 DV, -1 recoil, -2 recoil with out shock pad) 2. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing bursts?(3 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 6 bullets fired) 3. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing long bursts?(6 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 12 bullets fired) 4. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing full bursts?(10 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 20 bullets fired) I have more question relating to the design but would like to get the recoil mods done first. |

Something like this?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pribor-3B_Rifle Honestly, I would probably just double all the values as if you had been carrying two guns and dual wielding. The Elephant Rifle in SR4 has info on giving them both barrels. IIRC it's +1 DV, -1 Recoil, or something like that. So you could adapt that for full auto also. |

Hmm the elephant rifle has a shock pad included, to the recoil with out shock pad would be -2 recoil.

...too bad the Core Book didn't include the standard sidearm of the Star, the Ruger Thunderbolt.

True but Nightmarex's cannon companion conversion has it stats are as follows: 5P -1AP BF RC2 Ammo:12c Availibility14R Cost 1000 so 2 points of integral recoil compensation (just like the ares alpha) |

Ok from in depth reading of the various topics discussing recoil, the first bullet does not get recoil penalties.
1. If both barrels are fired at the same time what would you consider the most correct recoil mods? there would be a recoil penalty of -1, heavy weapon/shotgun/elephant guns -2 penalty 2. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing bursts?(3 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 6 bullets fired) the recoil penalty would be a -5 or -10 for the heavy weapon types. 3. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing long bursts?(6 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 12 bullets fired)recoil penalty would be -11 or -22 for heavy weapons 4. What would be the recoil mods for both barrels firing full bursts?(10 bullets from each barrel, so a total of 20 bullets fired) recoil penalty -19 or -38 for heavy weapons One caveat if a heavy weapon type is firing, only the uncompensated recoil is doubled. So example 1. With a shock pad no recoil penalty with either a regular or heavy type weapon. 2. With a shock pad, gas vent 3, and a bipod which is 6 points of recoil compensation, again no recoil mods for regular or heavy types of weapons. 3. With a shock pad, gas vent, bipod, and gyrostabilizaton for a total of 12 points of recoil compensation, again no recoil mods for regular or heavy types of weapons. 4. With a shock pad, gas vent, bipod, and gyrostabilizaton for a total of 12 points of recoil compensation, -7 recoil penalty for regular weapons and -14 recoil penalty for heavy types of weapons. Interesting...it is a possibility then..... :D |

What your are not firing this with your cyberarm equipped Troll Phys Ad character? :D
Interesting other things Examples from above 1. is +1 DV 2 bullets 2. is +5 DV 6 bullets 3. is +11 DV 12 bullets 4. is +19 DV 20 bullets Very interesting.... |
