*snap* of fingers. "I can call spirits from the vasty deep." Glendower, King Henry the Fourth, Part I, Act 3, scene 1
Hotspur replies: Why, so can I, or so can any man; But will they come when you do call for them?

...why yes they do.

Gregor commands the winged cherub flitting before him, "Carry the ladies things to her appointed chamber, safely mind you, and then return to me."

"And with whom shall I be sharing the master room?"

Bakatare arches a brow but says nothing at the conversation between the elf and ork, willing to trust in the skills his called in favors have brought to bear.

"No blueprints, unfortunately. I'm sure something might be on record with the Metroplex, but I have no idea how accurate they may be.

I trust, Clay, that you won't actually be setting explosives unless we need the exit?

As for magical protections, I have a ward up over the house and my own stable of elementals. Anything else I leave to the very talented and knowledgeable group of you."

Clay Moor *rap, tap* Clay looks over at Bakatare.

"No Bakatare, just finding out where in case we need to. If we need to, we may not have the time to do this prebreaching check out." Gives him a silver capped tusked smile.

Glances over at Gregor when he speaks of sharing the master bedroom, then looks at Bakatare, then again gets a large smile on his face.

I guess Gregor and Bakatare will share the master bed room, now I wish I had a camera and microphone to put in there, would be as amusing at the Trid comedy "The Odd Coven".

Dumping his bag with little grace on the bed in an as of yet unoccupied room, Porter tests the veracity of the statements about no wireless signal. He moves from room to room, measuring interference before making his way to the main room.

"You're still in the not as dumb as you look pile. Some of you others though need some work. The office is my primary work area, everyone needs to give me your 'links if you've got one so I can run diagnostics and get your drek in order. If you have anything wireless inside of you, we'll deal with that separately."

Pointing to the closest person to him at the time, the ork simply says "You're first," and walks towards the office, electronics kit in hand.

Gregor smiles, and then bows to everyone else commenting, "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't."

He follows Porter into the office and hands him his fob watch. "I'm afraid I have no wires in me."

Atreus watches as the various team members begin to lay claim to the rooms: Gregor and Bakatare in the master bedroom, Ikari claimed a room for summoning, Clay in the troll-sized room and Porter in the remaining room. Dervish appeared not to have chosen a room yet either. Atreus takes his pack to the master bedroom and tosses it on the third bed. I think this will be one of the quieter rooms.

Atreus moves through the house, avoiding Porter and his demands to get into the coms. Right about now I wish I had listened to Link and her advice to load IC in addition to that extremely expensive firewall upgrade. His trust of others was minimal at best. In his years of working in Seattle, him and his brother each had a very small circle of trusted associates. Even Bakatare was not wholly within that tight circle. He was too mysterious and the brothers didn't know enough about him to fully trust his motivations.....yet.

At the moment he feels like a fifth wheel on the team. No summoning he can do, no securing people's coms... Little defensive capabilities. Atreus is running back of this team. His specialty is going long and deep into enemy territory and insure a win.. or at least draw their attention away from the ball.

For now, he heads out the back door and into the back yard. He finds a spot and kneels down to meditate and clear his mind. He picks up the waiting message from Ammon:
<<@Atreus [Ammon] Point, counter-point. Look, I think this current deal is gonna keep me tied up for a few days. Nothing too drastic, but I'm gonna need to get some office supplies. I may be temp'ing at multiple locations.>>

Office Supplies... Gear. Temp'ing.... Contract jobs, though in their meaning this is of the shadowy variety.

He encrypts a reply and sends it via a series of secure drop servers Link had helped them configure.
<<@Ammon [Atreus] Got a new job and access is spotty at best. I'll keep in touch as best I can. Good luck.>>

He looks around the yard.. Time to figure out a little more about where I am...

Bakatare seems vaguely amused at the orc's somewhat gruff manner.

"While he's getting everyones 'drek' in order, I think we should discuss the question of financing our little expedition.

While I do not presume to command this group of experts, I would make a suggestion. I find that the most profitable self-commissioned runs are ones in which we find equipment or gear that we could use that we normally wouldn't be able to afford or requisition, and acquire that with some extras. That way we put on hands on items that are useful that we wouldn't be able to do normally, and usually we're gathering items that other people wouldn't be able to get normally, either.

Any suggestions along that line?"

The elf reenters the safe house after about an hour. I missed something I'm sure

He addresses his host "Bakatare you have an excellent eye, this is an almost perfect safe house. The only problem that I can see is the low roof. But that can be fixed with some razor wire or monofilament." He waits a beat to see if Bakatare has any response.

Dervish then enters the kitchen and grabs some fruit from the fridge. He quickly makes himself a smoothie. He then selects a bottle of water from the fridge and returns to the main room. He walks over to Clay Moor and hands the Ork the water. "Now what was it you wanted me to check?" He waits paitently for the Ork's response.

He shakes his head as he hears the report. He's definitely no security expert, and seems more then willing to leave such matters firmly in the hands of those that are.

He gives a brief recap to bring Dervish up to date on his suggestion.

"I asked for your link, not a piece of zheng-hua drek. Easiest way to fix this would be to smash it with a hammer and buy something worthwhile. Otherwise, I'm going to need some parts."

Leaving the metalink on the table, Porter stomps back into the main room.

"Ok, so if none of you have a clue what you are doing, we need to hit an electronics depot. If the rest of you have the same type of crap that Gregor did, you are dumber than I thought you were. I've got my work cut out for me, without building microchips from scratch. So you folks are going to need to bring me the supplies to fix the mess you dropped on my lap.

"I can make a full list of hardware that I'm going to need after each of you shows me what you've got."

Atreus heads back in, still putting the details of the area all together in his head. Catching Bakatare's question, he thinks Chameleon suit. That would come in damn handy for anything I do... And a few drones to assist...

"I have a few contacts that might assist in both areas. First, I have a very connected contact who's wiz about putting 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 together and getting 10. I'll see if there are any opportunities hidden between the lines. Second, I go way back with a local arms dealer. He keeps up on the comings and goings at The Mall and the n00bs that show up with more hardware than sense. Between the two, I'm sure we can find plenty of opportunity... What do you think?

Another eyebrow lift, and Bakatare turns back to the group.

"Porter has made a suggestion for an electronics depot." As Atreus tosses out his bit, he seems thoughtful.

"I don't know much about this Mall, but is it possible to get the items Porter wants from there? And of course, feel free to call anyone you think is appropriate for lines of inquiry. I trust all of you to act professionally with this."

"At least it keeps time.", shrugging, Gregor shrugs his burly shoulders under his silk shirt, "I am in your hands."

Gregor returns to the discussion at hand in the main room.

"Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

With a deprecating smile, "One can never have enough eye of newt. Nor can one have enough friends, so anything to make friends would be good.", frowning slightly, "There will be little problem obtaining whatever we need, as long as we have money, and there's the rub!"

"What are you willing to do for it?"

Clay Moor will return to the kitchen, gets some food from the fridge, get a drink, nuke the food, then come to the table and begin eating.

He will look attentive at the various conversations going around.

He will look at Dervish "Could you go thru the inside of the house, plotting where the various weak points are?" He will take the water and take a drink.

"If we are going toy hunting, I have some requests also, 10-50 kilos of plastique depending upon the grade, several thousand rounds of APDS in pistol, SMG and assault rifle calibers."

"Oh and also those that have smartgun links, you might want to upgrade the optics on the camera it contains."

He will then finish eating, and finish his drinks.

Dervish nods at the Ork's request. Weak points for what, trog? out loud he responds, "Of course. I don't want the house collapsing on me any more than you do."

He finishes his fruit smoothie, quietly weighing options in his head. "Is some one taking notes? I would like to add more tools of my trade to the list of requests. Some disguise nanopaste would prove handy. I'm sure we should have a few spare identities on hand. Also let's not forget Bakatare's little problem, we will need magical resources to deal with that. Perhaps as others have said, it would be wise to get some nu, after all we can potentially buy what we need." And some information on the realms beyond, I know where my power stems from but most of what Bakatare does is well over my head

He stands slowly and begins checking the interior of the house for weak spots as Clay Moor suggested. He keeps on ear on the conversation in case he is needed.

Ikari returns to the main part of the house. "If I may be so bold, with this much Awakened talent I would suggest raiding a talismonger. I am certain with Bakatare's cpnnections we could easily sell anything we acquire and then use the funds to secure the gear we might need. There must be shops that someone would like removed or at least dealt a crippling blow. The only care we need take is to hit someone out of favor. If none exists, then perhaps a technological equivalent such as a cyber clinic or deckmeister's shop?"

"So it sounds like the three suggestions for targets are Weapons, Electronics, and Items of a Magical Nature? The specific locations don't really matter until we pick which one to focus on.

Shall we do this democratically with a vote, or does someone want to proclaim themselves leader and be the definitive voice for this little soirée?"

Gregor chimes in with his deep baritone voice, "Someone out of favor, or failing that someone with god insurance, since we are doing this to raise funds, no need to inconvenience someone unduly."

"If I understand, we intend to obtain some valuables, pawn them off, and then obtain our needs?"

"Then the question becomes who is our target?"

Atreus replies to Bakatare, "I think electronics should be our first stop. While my coms are pretty customized, I could still use an upgrade and additional equipment like drones and cameras." He looks around to the team as he continues to speak, "Also, this would probably provide a pretty good windfall in lightweight, high value contraband we could turn into cash for supplemental runs. Taking the weapons second would then equip the team to acquire the magical equipment. A good friend of mine used to say the best cure for a mage is an explosive round or two at 500 meters."

"Then let's get started. What's the place most likely to have the stuff we need in addition to light, easily disposable goods laying around?

We could hit an actual manufacturer, if there's someone that makes everything we need. I'm more inclined to find a distributer. Anyone have suggestions? Illegitimate seems like our best bet, since we can find on that specializes in higher end components, and they're less likely to contact the Star."

"What is our time frame? It will take at least a couple of days to weeks for any non standard high end equipment to be obtained through our own channels, so the more vital equipment is what we should focus on. That way the less vital equipment are the ones subject to delivery delays."

Atreus adds, "And it would help to understand where each of our expertise lie. Personally I am the close & hose type. I am good about getting inside, unseen, unheard and dealing with physical and spiritual threats. I've studied karate, tae kwon do, akido, jeet kun do, ninjitsu and half a dozen styles I can't even remember the name of. I have an uncanny ability to pick out details and I scored a 97 on the Henrick-Lictenstein concentration test... but my brother is the braggart in the family." ending with an almost sincere smile.

Clay Moor will smile and say "I am very good with explosives, better than average with most firearms, throwing things, heavy weapons. Only fair at close in mix ups. I uses my skill with explosives alot down in the Ork Underground, with and for them. I have lived and worked alot down there also. So if need be I can be a tour guide down there."

Dervish returns to his seat.

Noting the current topic of conversation he quietly listens for a few moments.
Well I suppose the question had to come up sometime

He calmly speaks
"My skills are stealth and illicit entry. Like Atreus I am skilled in close combat. I also have a small skill with pistols. I have a knowledge of buildings, so I know where to find entry points. And Clay Moor of the Ork Underground, I can tell you where to place your charges so they will do the most damage."
So that's what the trog was up to. Now the question is, was it for a quick exit or a trap? The other question is, do I tell them about my magical prowess?
